welcome to the halving where mining rewards drop by 3.12BTC and the tx fees go from .4BTC to 25BTC

so the miners payout goes down by half?  NO it goes up 4x.

I guess Runes coming online, are making this a thing.  So much for your idea of a liquidity crunch, if miners now have 4x more BTC than before.

Are ordinals the reason for the extreme tx fees now?  Is this the new normal or just related to people trying to get into block 840.00?

Can someone tell me WTF is going on with TX fees since the having block, 840,000

Typical blocks are .4 - 2BTC

Blocks since 840,000 have been
37BTC
4 BTC
7 BTC
16 BTC
24 BTC
30 BTC
23 BTC
17 BTC
12 BTC
9 BTC
17 BTC
19 BTC
17 BTC
23 BTC
21 BTC

Transactions seem higher too.  So at this point the mining reward has gone up, by 3-5 fold.

segwit is now ++2 years old :-) any bitcoin client which is younger then 2 Years,
or was updated in past 2 years is able to work with the segwit address layout :-)

if its your own bitcoin client , then hurry up and update your wallet,
if its an external service provider he should hurry up and update his client

Your right.  I used Doge to make the deposit.  I thought the Jaxx Wallet was Segwit enabled, it's not, that was news to me.  I like the Unamed Exchange.  There were a couple of OGs in the Trollbox, had a good chat.

someone seem to buy HBN to 33 Sat on Frei a few times a week, gee I wonder who that could be

It is hard to get funds on Unamed Exchange - their LTC and BTC are segwit only (I mean that good an all, but does hind deposits)

help me out here

Why would you want to migrate to the ETH network?  The HBN network is solid, fast, and has low tx fees.  The point of HBN was to create a coin that could stake for charity, which still appears novel after 7 years.

If I was going to migrate to a SmartContract type network, which I don't see a reason to do, I wouldn't pick ETH at this moment, unless I was gonna make a ponzi defi coin.  There a plenty of scalable other platforms ATM.

Who is leading this project?

I have an active wallet, I should be able to post a blockchain.  Will need sometime, to put it somewhere.

Thanks.  Some wallets do ok with power outages, and some don't (HBN and a bunch of others I run).  The detach database at shutdown allows one to make a copy of the full distribution.  We have construction companies turn off the power now and then and it screws up my staking wallets.

It's gonna take me a little to pull this off.  My wallet server, is pretty isolated with a lot of security.  I'm gonna need to upload the blockchain from a backup, and figure out a share.  It's all good.

I've not had any problems with HBN recovering from an power outrage.  I don't even have a UPS on my server anymore.  I do have to check pretty often.  Mostly because I want to modify my blocks with Coin Control.

I've tried three times to dl the blockchain from the HBN website.  Each on different days.  Twice it failed due to a network error.  Once it dl'd but it was a corrupt file.

Please try to fix this if it's not on my side.  I have no other problems I know of with my connection, although I don't try to dl 4 gig files these days often.

If any trusted member of this HBN wants to put it up in a private link, I'll try that and test it to make sure it's good.  Thanks.

Trying manually syncing but last time that took over a week, I believe.

HBN is now listed on unnamed.exchange
https://www.unnamed.exchange/Exchange?market=HBN_BTC

Is HBN doing well on unnamed.exchange?

It's still doing well on FreiExchange

looks like rock bottom

I heard a wise investor say, "It can always go lower" - I mean it's not going to 0 Sat - because I'll probably buy it all at 2 Sat.

I've been shilling HBN for about ... 5-6years now?

HBN -
1) solid network, nodes sync quickly, and are valid
2) there is an exchange that works
3) transactions work in the real world, outside the exchange, I use the network to send and receive about every 2-5 days
4) staking works fine
5) the Dev is alive, and actively works on the code, when needed
6) the niche of the coin makes sense, staking for charity, it's not there yet, but it makes sense

If your looking for a low cap, high risk coin, that stakes - this is my pick.  Makes sense to me.

checkpoint ok ?

some wallets out of synch

2020-02-02 19:19:33 ERROR: ConnectInputs() : 95f26b150dc1cc5be6cedb6ccdf256fd50739979d1d991c75f4461ab612d6f5e prev tx already used at (nFile=2, nBlockPos=778905323, nTxPos=778905700)

my wallet has 11 active connections, and is staking fine.  I don't see a problem.  I will try to send and receive to FreiExchange some tonight, and see if I see anything

Same here. Have no problems with the wallet. Wallet is sync and has 10 connections with the same block high as the explorer. I think it's all right.  Smiley

Everything looks good, transactions from FreiExchange work, and are crazy fast.  So that means, most likely there's no fork (my wallet and the exchange are on the same branch).  Make sure your wallet is running the latest compatible version of the wallet (not a 3-5 old version).

HBN at 29Sat is a good buy.  It's all speculative, but if there's another AltCoin boom, and HBN gets random push it could go back into the 100's or higher.

But the future is unknown, and I still monitor the network and market weekly to ensure it is function as expected.

Happy G Zues Krist Day!

HOBO is one of perhaps 4 projects with the founder/dev still there since 2014.
20000 odd thousands are dust and rust.  But HOBO is original and still here.

You'd think the market (general public) might respect that.

Yeah, almost as if it were close to outrunning its own inflation
Incredible how supportive and serious people are about this project

HBN is still on my Radar, and I still actively support the coin.

Great to see Tranz - I expected to see him.  He shows up, though it maybe months at a time.

I guess I'll join Nova Exchange and do some trading with HBN.  I really don't like that exchange.  They force KYC even if you only do minor trades.  KYC is not good in it's current form, but that's another issue.

I hope they get it listed soon, but it doesn't really matter if people don't trade it, or have any interest in accumulating it

HoboNickels was made to support charity projects, but this is not possible as long no charity organization accepts it as payment. Since this doesn't work, not many people are interested in HBN and that is really a pity, because HBN has a very good pos network.

A long time ago I wrote to some charity organizations and asked them if they would accept HBN as a means of payment, but I never got an answer. If perhaps more people would do that, the organizations would perhaps pay more attention to such requests.  Smiley

I would like to see a functional use case too, but that doesn't seem to be necessary for other coins to prosper (be supported financially).  Other coins don't even have functioning networks and people still buy them.  (OK ... stop the rant)

It's going to be hard if there are no fiat to hbn gateways.  If you have to convert fiat to BTC to HBN and back ...  Right now, we are struggling to get BTC to HBN pair somewhere.

Like you said, really you just need a Charity to accept HBN, that way the Stake for Charity actually means something.  The charity would benefit for no effort, and could convert to BTC if they wanted.

Also, we'd need the developer to be there.

I still support HBN because:
1) network is stable, and works
2) POS is solid
3) it has a niche, a use case that makes sense
4) is a low market cap coin, that has potential for exponential profits, admittedly super low potential
5) the coin has some form of positive morality, which is appealing

I'm willing to help/ invest sometime.  If some people want to join together and start an organized effort to recruit a charity, I'll help.  I do have some contacts, but I don't want to go it alone.

I have submited the listing request on novaexchange.
In a case of success , there should be volume to keep the coin on the market. some one off trades wont help only continuous volume..
finger crossed

Anyone to become the developer for this coin?

Good deal

I'm still have not given up on @Tranz

novaexchange is offering free listings to coins previously listed on cryptopia.
unfortunately novaexchange is not useful to north americans, but the rest of the world is still a big place.
yes Crypto is bigger than North America.

What is needed to get the listing there?  I've not done anything with Novaexchange.  Just curious if we'd need to get @Tranz to do it.
