Re: How to earn Bitcoin without investment

To earn bitcoin, you need investment in any case. Because you buy bitcoins to make money on their growth, or you spend money on buying and maintaining equipment for mining.

How to lose half a million dollars IOUs instantly.

FTFY.
It's a huge loss, however you cut it. Whenever it comes time for them to buy out, they will be able to obtain that many less bitcoins which will be worth that much less in fiat.

If his tactic is to wait for the news and market buy, he would have paid that premium anyway. Probably more if a good trader beat him to the punch, which is likely. He's the reason gox btc withdrawals will mean $900/goxcoin. He should learn from Willy.

So the market thinks 1/2 of gox's coins were stolen? Hard to believe.

Sounds like they had some coins stolen because their system doesn't inventory its bitcoins properly.

You have to put www.mtgox.com

Just mtgox.com won't work.

Re: Broken BTC Withdrawals on Gox -- 2230 EST, 28 JAN: 1654 broken TX!!

seems people are selling their coins in Gox which brought down the divergence(against other exchange) quite a bit over the past 6 hours, why they are selling coins, do they have a better change to cash out via fiat withdrawal? I think fiat still a worst option to cash out for most people.

Also wonder on this, i.e. why price on Gox dropped?

Same pattern you often see with bitcoin trading. There was a large 3000 coin dump and then other people guess that that guy must know something and they just follow. Monkey see monkey do.

totally panic in Gox right now, thousends withdrawls right now

I think it's more likely that it's everyone who got their accounts credited trying to withdraw again in multiple small amounts.

I just had a 1/27 stuck btc withdrawal credited back to my account. There was no mention of the credit in the boilerplate message I got from gox in response to my ticket but the goxcoins are in my account now so I guess I roll the dice again on a withdrawal?

You can use google authenticator from a browser window. Not really secure if you're doing it on the same computer, but better than not using 2FA at all.

Btw what´s way scarier than the possible china ban is MTGox. It seems that their problems are gettin even worse.
A lot of the people haven´t heard from the support in the last 3/4 days.
Almost 30000BTC are stuck/lost in tx....

it seems to go up 10K every day
How can you view this?

http://skanner.net/MtGox/mtgox_tx.php

I don't think that summing the output transactions is a valid way to see stuck withdrawals. From my own experience a 5btc withdrawal shows up as a 34btc output. It's gox's system piggybacking it's own transfers on your tx fees. They number of stuck withdrawals is accurate but the amount of withdrawal btc stuck is much lower. A lot of that is just gox moving coins around.

Newest updates about BTC withdrawl problems on Mt. Gox
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=429769.0

I think it´s only fair not to discriminate FIAT holders over there, now everyone has to wait(until the end of days Cheesy).

I have the same problem, now 48 hours.  I decided to investigate and pulled all the TXs from https://data.mtgox.com/api/0/bitcoin_tx.php - i found my receiving address in there.  I then transmitted all of the transactions to the network.. the outputs on mine and over 200 other ones have already been spent, and the network rejects them immediately.

Seems like a problem with double spending, which would imply a race condition within their code, so no kind of locking in place to prevent this happening.

MtGox - if this could be the case and you need advice on how to prevent it happening, please get in touch with me.  It doesn't matter which programming language you're using for this process I will be able to help you fix it if you need some help.

I don't think Gox are going to take you up on that offer for all kinds of reasons Wink

Old news. That problem has been there forever. There are multiple websites dedicated to showing these spent output problem transactions.

Wow, complete BS. what happened to upgrade order option?  I haven't place mine as I'm already on the hook for enough money with them and their incompetence.

Yes, the official upgrade deadline was June 1. This was what was stated on the BFL forums and by josh here. Are we still able to upgrade to a 60gh single for 649 with a fpga single trade?

Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Closed

It's concerning that paybtc isn't explicitly stating that any payment will go first to repay principal (total deposits - total withdrawals) first before any "interest" is paid. In this case, the "interest" was just the btc of the new depositors.

In the event that paybtc did a straight percentage based payout across all his accounts just based on the current balance he would be running his own ponzi scheme.

This too could be the motivation in not handing over the details. The only reason to hide the details of a sub account would be if that sub account had withdrawn more than it had deposited and therefore revealed the location where other peoples btc went.

In order to participate in BTCST I had to use the service of BitcoinMax since there was no way to do it directly with pirate.

Not true, you could of just opened one of his savings account directly. Though I think there was a minimum of 100btc deposit.

No, you needed a referral. There were people offering 100btc just for the referral and not having any luck.
