Just a quick update on our efforts to become fully registered:

   1) We are compliant with the KYC/AML laws in place that are required. This is why there is an SSL encrypted registration page for swapping coins for bullion.
   2) The SEC agreed with our "No Action" stance on the coin and its construction as an investment vehicle.
   3) We are in compliance with the IRS - When swapping coin for bullion you will receive a 1099. That is why we had to have your SS number.
   4) The CFTC remains a thorn in our side. This is the last step in being a fully recognized crypto investment. We have to register as a SWAP execution facility and have our
investment vehicle (BIG) registered as a swap eligible commodity vehicle.

       - This process, its 23 page application, and the CFTC itself has proven quite difficult and to me is a lot like the old testament ...
Lots of pain and suffering and very little redemption....

Ok with all of that being said we are still moving forward with:
* The new QT - which is now almost ready to release. There have been lots of bumps in the road merging several versions of the Bitcoin core, but it will soon be published.
* Still working on Big Vern at Cryptsy. Those guys are waiting on our new wallet before giving us serious consideration.
* Mac and linux wallet are waiting on the newest core.
* Last but definitely not least: Bullion reserve updates and SWAP process:
    - If the CFTC delays or does not give us the green light on swapping BIG for bullion we will still continue to back it, but we will have to wait until approved by them to complete any swaps. This means that if they (CFTC) do not act quickly then we will not be able to swap any bullion for coin in November as originally planned. I know this sucks and it's not what we want to happen either, but in order for us to make BIG huge we have to play by the rules with no exceptions.  We will keep everyone posted as things develop.

I did a buy on the S4's and their hashrate locally is 2th/s or greater (awesome!) however, when connected to BTCGuild NONE of them show anywhere close to 2 Th/s.  They show more like 200 Gh/s.  I have 2 that are over 1 Th/s, but the rest between 0 - 278 GH/s.  WTF Bitmain?Huh

So BIG will be traded on the commodities and futures markets? Like pork bellies, soybeans, and oil?

Not exactly.  By holding precious metals and allowing for the exchange of Crypto for those metals we are engaging in a "regulated activity."   Our coin is an "investment vehicle" for existing commodities (Gold, silver, platinum). So while BIG wouldn't trade on the COMEX as a commodity it will be registered as a vehicle for delivery of those commodities.

Hey guys - Just a little update.... ok A HUGE FRICKING UPDATE!!

This week we got word from the Senior Counsel at the SEC that BigBullion was good to go as an investment vehicle!!! We are now in discussion with the CFTC for approval and registration as a commodity investment vehicle!! This is the last hurdle for BIG to make good on it's promise of being the 1st and premiere Investment Grade Crypto!!!

Oh and btw.... Did I mention that this will make us the ONLY registered, and legitimate precious metal backed crypto-security in the world??  Soooo close to Champagne toast time!!  This has been a long and very tough road to make it down, but we are almost there!!!!

Nice. Could you post some details/documentation/links? Very interested.......

As soon as we get our registration with the CFTC cleared I will post those documents sir!!!

Hey guys sorry for my absence of late.  Pneumonia kicked my A**.  I was in bed for 4 days, but am recovering slowly.    On an even brighter note - We have our new wallet in Alpha testing right now!! We have upgraded it and merged it with the latest Bitcoin core ( As some of you knew it was a very old version and bringing it up to date was no small task).   Once it moves out of Alpha and tests stable we will build a good Linux and Max version from that.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can have all this done before Friday.  Then we can get back to promoting the coin, and driving value!!

Actually guys I haven't had any hashing power on the network since the end of week 2.  I wanted it to be as clean as possible.  I am now adding 5-6 Th/s so that we can get through this block.

Some one threw rented hardware at the network and pushed the diff WAY up.  Something along the lines of 200 Th/s.  Anyhow after the next couple of blocks it should get back to normal.

On the bright side - The linux and Mac wallets should be out later today or tomorrow at the latest.  ALSO!!! - We are almost done with updating our core!!  So the new qt should be out this week!!!!  Stay tuned guys!

it was just last week that you said you intentionally added hash to the network to increase the diff...

I think you need to learn how to read better.

Oh, can you explain how this was supposed to be read then?

The rapid adjustment of the difficultly was intentional.  Yes it sucks, but it was our intent to this to help stave off the pump N dumpers.

In context:  'If gold were easy to get then everyone would have it and it would be worthless....  The rapid adjustment of the difficultly was intentional.  Yes it sucks, but it was our intent to this to help stave off the pump N dumpers.'

He is quite clearly talking about the coin in general. I'm actually baffled why you do this. I mean are you just bored?

I think it's unscrupulous of someone to create a coin and because it lacks the support & innovation, to artificially generate excessive networks hash to force the network well past the designed "10 minutes block targets" so as to protect their "gold". The hash rate is neither here nor there for me, I have enough hash at my disposal to mine the shit of it when it's ideal but the up and down effect they're causing isn't helping anyone. If they can't afford to hand out or cover blocks being generated every 10 mins, then this project need to be rm -rf'd

I'm not bored but perhaps wasting my time as most in here can't see past the end of their nose.

1: "to artificially generate excessive networks hash"
      - How does on e artificially generate hashrate?  It's either on network or not. If it belongs to the dev or not it's still hashrate.

2)  Not sure where the argument came from but as I stated I had 0 hashrate on the network, but then was requested to add a bit to bust through a lagging block (was over 6 hours) I added a few Th/s - left it for about 2
days to stabilize things and pulled it out.

3) The more blocks that are found the more diluted the coin becomes.... How would my adding hashrate help me if I was "protecting my gold" If I was a protectionist I wouldn't have started this project in the first place....

4)  Patience is a virtue.  Trust me when I say this project is designed for a multi year run, and my vision on this is clear.  If you have some specific questions around the coin I'd be glad to entertain them, and discuss with you.  If you want to argue and make irrelevant/irrational points please dismiss yourself from the thread.

**Notice**

The linux wallet we posted has been taken down due to it's failure to run in a stable fashion.   We had hoped to be able to use our current core to compile a working mac and linux wallet; however, that is not the case.  We are currently working diligently to upgrade our core to .9.x  Once that is complete we will then compile a new linux and Mac wallet.  It is our sincere hope that this entire process will be complete within 10 days.  Thanks for staying aboard and for the continued support!!!  P.S.  watch the BTC news outlets today.... :-)

Dang... These Coinoutlet ATM's look great.... And it seems their Dev is keen on  multiple uses for his ATM....

"Looking ahead, Grill said that the ATM space is still very much in its early stages and that the units could serve as the basis for new types of financial and wealth management."

Sounds like they might be able to sell shares of a precious metal backed coin..... HHmmmm....

We spent the early part of the week working on our Mac wallet (disaster as it turns our we will need to upgrade our source to at least .9.6 otherwise when we compile the mac wallet it works like a windows program trying to run in a mac environment....slow, crashes)  So that's where we are on that.

Bitcoin Core 9.2 based source you mean?

I hope so, your 8.6 wallet is woefully out of date, note the OpenSSL version you are using, heartbleed.

Please, please consider get your developers to add merged mining in the update.

You would have Terrahashes & probably Petahashes securing your network then as BTC mining pools could mine your blockchain at the same time ensuring a long long life for this coin.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Merged_mining_specification

 Wink

Hey coinme we are in the process of upgrading to the latest core as we speak.  Almost all of the issues we've had creating the mac wallet are linked to the old core. As far as merged mining goes we may look at implementing this; however, the coin is designed to be difficult to acquire.  If gold were easy to get then everyone would have it and it would be worthless....  The rapid adjustment of the difficultly was intentional.  Yes it sucks, but it was our intent to this to help stave off the pump N dumpers.  As soon as we get close to the update I will post here!!  Thanks for the info and keep any ideas and or requests coming!

Hey guys sorry for not posting a lot this week, but we have been rather busy!!!  We spent the early part of the week working on our Mac wallet (disaster as it turns our we will need to upgrade our source to at least .9.6 otherwise when we compile the mac wallet it works like a windows program trying to run in a mac environment....slow, crashes)  So that's where we are on that.
Then we started getting ready for the Chamber of Digital Commerce's event in DC.  HUGE SUCCESS!!!  We hit all 435 offices of the house of representatives in one day!!  Almost everyone I spoke with personally was very receptive, which is a good thing, and it seemed as though the house members were keen on the idea of getting to know Bitcoin and it's capabilities versus being blindsided by it.   We gave them all info on the Chamber so that they could reach out to us with questions as they developed.  Our hopes are to be able to stay in their ears as long as possible. We all know the banks and credit card companies have MILLIONS to spend on lobbyists where we do not.  Heck - those jerks make more in one quarter than the entire Bitcoin market cap.....  Believe me when I say it will be an uphill battle guys.  Stay involved and stay positive!!  As I get more updates I will be sure to share them with everyone!  Below is the link to our article.

Wow, not even a response regarding CoinExd, an exchange you promote on your coin ANN page? This is where we part ways. im selling all of it on bittrex with of course the exception of the coins CoinExd stole from me. Good luck with your coin.
We removed them 2 days ago, thanks to a heads up from you. We didn't receive any negative feedback from anyone else. I'm assuming everyone is using Bittrex. Good luck to you as well.

It just means that until the deal is done I can't say what BTC ATM company it is.  That's all.    Hopefully by the time I get back from DC we will be ready to discuss it!!!
