Im trying to install this but as usual with linux something is broken ....

2 FA or the otp part seems broken. Can't get it to register on google auth. It always tells me that the key can not be found.

It will register on the watchguard authpoint app but every code i put into the machine gives me an error:

Could not open input file: /otp

How do i fix this ?

noobie question incomming ....

Does this need to be hosted on a vps or can i host a node on my private network too?

thanks

We recommend using a VPS as you need 24/7 uptime to run a masternode. If running on your private network your IP will be visible to the public and there may be additional settings needing adjusted with your Firewall which differ dependant on your provider.

But in theory: Hosting this at home would be do-able?

I want to test this out before i rent a VPS that i do not need Smiley

I also want to run a core node fiorst to see if this is actually something i want go into deeper. Setting up a Masternode would be to much investment to play with in the begining

So someone can se my IP Adress? Downsides?

the aitech should. The other one, probably not.

I'm selling USB hubs that run BE's. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271252540623
$45 + ship if you want to trade here instead.

Heres a video that shows them running BEs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOrawRcUmOE

Tested with a raspberry pi?

mini, mini, mini.... rig

One Raspberry Pi +Mojo board.

After 3 shares... (only 2 minutes)

There is an LX9 on it? Does that even have enough programable parts to fit a hashing engine?
Last time i've seen those FPGA's hashing was in development hashing around 5 to 6 Mh/s...?

wont it end up fighting the fans blowing air down? or are you trying to get it to blow the cooler air from underneath upwards?

i have one blowing over my USB ASICs atm Wink

It wasn't intended to be turned on. I wanna rise it slightly up due to the fan within the Jala will be blowing directly on the base of my TV console. It was meant for better air circulation.
Next project is to buy a wine chiller and put them inside after i ROI from these chillies and flash to 8GH/s Cheesy

Nice, I'm thinking to get some of those USB ASIC also. It's much MUCH quieter than these noisy chillies.

Wine coolers or refrigerators are not build for that. The Compressor will (constantly) overheat and then die ....

wouldn't you get lower temps if you stood the unit upright and had the big fan blowing thru the units?

Now I'm virtually all FPGAs and am desperate to get more hashrate (I'm a committed, but very small, miner), but FPGAs are expensive and only compete with GPUs on power consumption - in my experience (best hash per £ GPUs, so 5770, 5830, 5850, 6950 all with special tweaks; and a combination of Ztex's 1.15d and 1.15x FPGAs, so all Spartan-6 units).

I lost out on bASIC Tom even though I considered my due diligence pretty good; he had a record of delivering and didn't send off my risk analyst radar like BFL did. And whilst Avalon *have* delivered ASICs, I can't take days off work glued to my computer, propped up on amphetamines and repeatedly hitting ⌘R on the slim chance that I'll get onto the order webpage - and even then needing the luck to be able to actually *pay* and get a guaranteed build slot. I fear now is far too late anyway and Avalon have already sold their entire short production run, so it's 'start the process again'. I wouldn't be surprised if BFL go the same way, since there are too many rumours of chips not making the cut, and like Avalon they would only have a very limited number of discrete chips to package and test. With all the pre-orders, I'm sure I've missed the boat

Sure, I have the option to spend another £5k on 25 of Stefan's wonderful little boards and build another cool looking rig. It will be ultra-efficient and use little power. But, like the current one, it only has around 5 GH/sec. The ASIC devices are looking like around 50 GH/sec for something around £1k to (probably) £4k. I had a paid-for ASIC order in along with the other early adopters, but unluckily my order was with Tom and not Avalon. So if the ASIC boat has gone, with terahashes of power in various states of assembly at BFL and Avalon (et al) already earmarked for customers, buying as many FPGAs as possible *now* doesn't sound like it'll ever pay off  And that's even if I could get the FPGAs in the first place. Perhaps I should sell my existing FPGA rig for Bitcoins and simply invest (buy and hold only)...

I have no stake in Asics .... i decided not to because even Avalon could have been a scam (default op). I am a small committed miner myself. On my desk i have a beautiful fpga rig (Stefan's boards, 18 Spartans) chugging away 3.9Gh/s. I feel to upgrade but that would be an investment that i can not do at the moment....

Luckily though the current exchange value my investment in this rig will pay of itself in a few month (initially calculated repayment was 4 years!).

Yes the Picture is old im currently working on a enclosure for this rig Smiley

What kind of case is that, and what temps do you see on your gpus?

LianLi v2000b; 4x Asus 5870 on a 990FXA Gigabyte board with a opteron 145; Powered by a Corsair HX 1000w.
They were downclocked to about 750 - 800/110 and undervolted...

I don't remember the temps but they were in-between 85 and 95° C. That rig was pulling around 800w out of the wall plug.
Overclocked to 970/110 (and more) the rig would pull more than 1.2kW. The NT is really good, it survived heavy OC for a month Wink

Maybe ill find a pic of the stats somewhere.

NIce to see but inefficient as hell.... If you just use the water for this; let it run through the system and right into the drain; it's just a bad example of water usage Sad ...

Letting the neighbours pay for your mining isn't nice too :/

Rebuilt a rig today!

3x HD5870 @ 800/300/1.0 Volt = 3x 350Mhash/s
Fans at 50%

AMD Athlon 64 6400+ Black Edition 3200MHz @ 2000MHz (10x multiplier) and 0.975 Volt (undervolted)

400Watt out of the wall socket.

1050Mhash/s / 400 Watt = 2.65 efficiency factor

Software: Windows 7 x64 / CGMiner

Can be tweaked a bit more I guess but first I try it at these settings.

These ASUS CARDS are damn good, had 4 of them. Even when placed tight together they'll stay cooler than others Smiley

but technically I'm pretty sure you could submerge a computer in distilled water if you could totally seal the system from any metals entering the system, but that's probably impossible

tried that ... ittl run about 5 minutes and then switch off forever Smiley

Distilled water doesn't stay "clean" very long
