Extremely underrated and underexposed in the media at the moment.

Guys, is there a need for ibtc when eBTC came out with the original Ethereum + Bitcoin Hybrid?

The eBTC Development team is active, the community is active and initiatives are in place for growth. The whitepaper and roadmap are soon to be released and we're listed on Etherdelta, Hitbtc, Mercatox, Decentrex, Ubitok and IDEX (more to be added)

I believe that we'd be stronger as one hybrid community, and getting behind the original as opposed to popping up with copy cats.

You're welcome to join the eBTC community.

If anyone is still in this forum, please join the original ERC20 Hybrid project. Bitcoin red is a blatant copy of eBitcoin (eBTC) - The first Ethereum + Bitcoin Hybrid. Compare the website content and you'll probably have a laugh.

Anyway, the eBTC Development team is active, the community is active and initiatives are in place for growth. The whitepaper and roadmap are soon to be released and we're listed on Etherdelta, Hitbtc, Mercatox, Decentrex, Ubitok and IDEX (more to be added)

If you lost a lot of money on a project where the devs and community have disappeared, you're welcome to join our community. I believe that we'd be stronger as one hybrid community, and getting behind the original as opposed to popping up with copy cats.

Hi guys. Anything new here ? Another train is ready to leave soon ? Cause it seems so.
Please explain, help me. Why buy FTC now? what information?

IF you're a member of the slack or forum, you'd know that Segwit and lightning are coming in the next year. Looking at the charts, FTC has also bottomed out. Now is the time to be accumulating.

Wow amazing
your account is still newbie but like a professional with various predictions about cryptocurrency... LOL  Grin

Hahah, you're welcome to your own opinion.

Like I said, its a theory.  An increase in difficulty normally is the result of an increase in miners but may be attributed to other factors. Anyone who is trading on fundamental analysis would also have to consider what all the given information means.

Anyways I understand your sarcasm and lack of respect due to the status of my account and for the fact that I'm making wild theories. No offence taken, for it is just a wild theory.

Whata f**k is going on with Feathercoin network hashrate and difficulty???
https://i.imgur.com/S3wFQ6W.jpg

Wow that looks ridiculous.

Take this with a grain of salt. I hear that the ICO ban and Exchange closure rumours have been used as a bit of a price manipulation tool. The ICO ban appears to be legitimate but the Chinese exchange closures appear to be rumour only.

Bter and Bittrex market prices show a huge discrepancy to reflect investor confidence.

But as I was saying, the exchange closures could be rumour only to manipulate prices while those in the know buy in. I would not be surprised that while all that is happening, miners are getting in(also as investors) while those with weak hands make an exit. This is one explanation for the graph and current market landscape.... And that's my theory only.

Don't take what I say as truth...Do your own research. I just like to speculate.

Anyone know whats up with 19800.com? Coinmarketcap hasn't been able to sync with them for days and the site seems not to be working properly.

They went down for a couple days for a site upgrade. It was slightly delayed and just happened to coincide with the ICO ban in China so it seemed a little suspicious.

I imagine the site upgrade has thrown the coinmarketcap scripts off.

On a slightly different note, have people noticed that coins are being priced lower on all the chinese exchanges? I imagine that can be attributed to the lack of confidence. At 5-15% price discrepancy it seems that there may be a nice arbitrage opportunity for anyone that has their hands dipped in both the chinese and non-chinese markets. At one point I saw the price of FTC in BTER and Bittrex differ by 20%

Good idea, I also regret buying this coin, it looks like this shit coin
This coin lost too much traction. Litecoin at 80 and Bitcoin at 5000!

I think dev should close down FTC and relaunch it as an ICO, that seems to be where the money is at the moment.

Exactly the kind of short-term quick-profit thinking that leads to all of those short-lived shitcoins in the junkyard. Wink

I certainly don't mind people who want to trade/arbitrage crypto like fiat. But to denigrate the technical value and fundamentals of a coin because of its current fiat value greatly misses the point.

100% agree with you Bluebox. It's these kind of investors that only jump on during pumps. Ignore them. Selling now would be a massive mistake.

1) Because the coin performs so well + founder, Peter Bushnell is back on board and is steering the ship a little more.
2) The coin will hit its all time high again, within the next year.  That is the general consensus I'm getting from my trader friends.

I'm in this for the long haul anyway. I want a good performing coin with a fair store of value and wide market acceptance. I'm hoping FTC can up their marketing and sales to onboard more merchants and users because they definitely won't do it themselves in this market of 800+ cryptocurrencies. That's the only concern I have. Lack of resources = no marketing, sales etc. despite a great product offering.

haha there's no need to have an "initial coin offering" just to hype the coin up, especially in this current market where every coin is offering something new or solving a problem.

I think what you really mean is that marketing exercises need to be completed to ensure businesses and individuals start accepting and transacting with FTC.

We can start with this question: What would people say are the pros and cons of this coin?

Master dev bushstar is back on FTC now, already planning new maintenance releases. There has been a dedicated group of devs working to support FTC for years, who now have their founder back in the fold after returning from another project. That should be worth more than something, relative to the large number of scam/shitcoins being pumped out these days.

This is pretty bullish as it is. Those who are asking for a roadmap should take a hard look at this. Wrapper (bushstar?) Is already hard at work implementing a fix because solo mining and scrypt mining both don't work at the current moment, and will soon. This will catch the attention of pools that switch to the most "profitable" coin. The hashrate will spike and so will FTC attention.

I believe, based on trade volumes, that FTC is currently trading 3.8x below it's correct valuation. A 380% increase is enough to start a massive pump like the original FTC pump up to 114k satoshi. Now is definitely a buy/hodl moment in the history of Feathercoin.

There has also definitely been a rising bottom on the highest volume exchange, 19800, on the trading pair FTC/CNY, if you click the 'date line button.

Damn... I'm gonna go buy some more FTC.

Hahaha, great input! Yeah I think FTC is on its way back to its price pre Aug1 debacle. After that, a 'pump' towards the 20 - 30 cent mark. Its a solid coin, with ongoing development, and fast performance which has been around since the early days when there were no more than 10 currencies. It's always been the copper/bronze to BTC and LTC with 4x coin supply of lite and 16x of btc but not many people know about this.

Anyways, I don't care too much for all these coins with fancy solutions to problems and I don't personally need anonymity. I'm long on the currency coins like bitcoin, litecoin and feathercoin. I'd love to see feathercoin back in the mix, with more news regarding planned integration into the btc, ltc ecosystem. Lightning network, atomic swaps between these 3 currencies would work great, especially now with litecoin starting to reach higher fiat values.

but then again FTC works well on its own. Its just about market adoption, marketing, selling and always improving.

what was he working on

He was contracted to Hullcoin but they reached a funding hiatus and breached contract. I'm certainly excited that he's back. Not sure if its on a full-time or part-time basis as none of the devs are paid. They do a great job given the circumstances!

I'd love to make a donation to the dev team if FTC ever moons.

Why does this thing needs a roadmap? If you like monero features then buy monero and stop trying to revive a dead coin, I dont see a reason why bushstar will develop features in something that wasn't first released for that.

Is like trying to force your car dealer to build now an airplane because your car is now 'not enough'

A roadmap is something used to communicate your vision and set targets for both internal and external stakeholders.

You need targets to achieve big things. Coaches and Athletes set targets. Entrepreneurs and startups set targets. Teachers set targets for students. If you think a coin can just exist and people will back you, think again. Using your car metaphor, if you think in the automotive industry, once a car manufacturer is able to create a car and believe that that is enough for people to continue to buy you(over the competition), think again.

Car manufacturers are constantly tweaking, upgrading, re-designing to make sure they've got all the latest gadgets and gizmos and are up to date with mechanical/safety/design and cosmetic standards. The car has been around for over 100 years and is still constantly improving. A crypto currency which has existed for 4 years cannot simply say that's enough. There are now over 800 Crypto currencies.

As the others mentioned, this coin is not dead. At around the 200 rank (market cap) this coin has relatively high daily volume (over $1m every day). The developers are also constantly working and have their minds open to future implementation of segwit(although some are reluctant)

I think most, if not all of the investors/backers would just like to know their funds are in the right place and that that place would allow for their funds to be part of a mainstream or widely used payment system.

It's really
Roadmap is the Plan of the development and the presence of Roadmap is quitely neccesary for any project

I agree.

"Where there is no vision, there is no hope."
-George Washington Carver

Having started my own businesses as well as in my time working for the man... I can't stress enough, the importance of targets. A roadmap will set clear targets out. The team right now are extremely restricted with human resources so I understand timeframes may not be able to be set.

But like I said Smart goals or targets are always required. Specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and timely.

If you need help, advertise it and we can all pitch in to spread the word. We can't however, dawdle and crawl along while everyone else has the hunger and competitive edge to continue innovating and marketing. Like I said, we cannot exist to merely exist. We must compete.

I think feathercoin has some really good fundamentals and has been around long enough to prove its worth. Only a couple things are lacking and I wish for the dev team to be more open minded to some suggestions. I wish the team luck and will help where I can.

The original founder, Peter Bushnell seems to be back after finishing up his contract with Hullcoin.

He is working on porting the 0.13.2 codebase to Feathercoin. I'm not 100% sure about the technicals. I'm merely an investor and currency user.

My experience with the forum veterans, moderators, and devs is somewhat underwhelming. They seem to be just focused on fixing bugs and minor upgrades. Everytime I mention the need for a roadmap, widespread use of the coin, marketing activities, and segwit compatibility, I'm immediately shot down. They're happy with the way things are. Don't get me wrong, FTC performs well with fast block times, fairly decent UX and an active community.

But they've got developer tunnel vision, just focusing on the technical side when they need to understand that there is a reason for everything. For FTC to be great, for the technical developments to be of value, we need to see widespread use. We need a roadmap. We need merchants to accept it and we need people to be aware of it. Anytime I ask about this, they insinuate that I'm a pump and dumper. It's not that at all. I like how fast the coin is and the history of it. I just think there can be improvements to marketing and considering other ideas for the coin to go mainstream. If these things aren't even considered, and they don't try to even compete, their work will be for nothing... and I will have to dump based on lack of vision, purpose, and use cases.

With Peter back, this is great news!. I'm hoping that he can bring back a more holistic vision and remind the devs and veterans exactly why a cryptocurrency exists and what it will take for their work to be of any value.

Wtf China people are doing with FTC?They have $1,012,980    day trading volume.
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/feathercoin/#markets

The same thing you're doing with FTC? Buying and holding  Grin

Is this a good time to buy at 2k price or wait at a lower price than 2k
And does anyone know when the price will be comeback at least 4k or more  Huh

Hey mate,

As everyone says... Only invest what you're willing to lose and really.... take everything you read and hear with a grain of salt. Invest at your own risk.

There is strong support at this price level. Have a look at these three youtube videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amyuaSGgdR4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upzqmyqWO14

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eRCkEqgXPg

Feathercoin is following a similar chart pattern to fastcoin, litecoin and bitcoin. Obviously with each at different stages. Both bitcoin and litecoin have made new highs. Fastcoin is on its way. Feathercoin appears to be on the verge of breakout.

Again, take all this with a grain of salt. Invest at your own risk!

In my research of Feathercoin, I found a nice interview where the creator, Peter Bushnell, was interviewed by the one and only Vitalik Buterin in 2013: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/feathercoin-interview-with-peter-bushnell-1376355117/

I had to do a double take on the interviewee's name. Also found an early youtube interview on the LTB network: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzkl48HpIbM

Peter seems quite intelligent and articulate. Anyone know if he's still working on Feathercoin?

Just a thought for your consideration.

Can anyone see the fall of bitcoin coinciding with the rise of both Litecoin and Feathercoin? Litecoin will need a bronze to it's silver by its side especially if the bitcoin split occurs.

Anyways I'm fairly new to the scene and I'm a buy+holder. I've been looking for a bronze to bitcoin and litecoin for a while now and looks like I've found it. In your own terms can you guys summarise the pros and cons of feathercoin and put forward the reasons for why you invested?

For me, I didn't like the branding of Feathercoin because it sounds like a shitcoin. Especially to those scrolling through the 800+ coins out there. But it's grown on me and I completely understand why it's called feathercoin. It suffers in the same way that litecoin did in terms of branding. New investors think nothing of litecoin because on surface it appears that its just a bitcoin clone. Of course when they dig deeper, that's when they realise litecoin is a good coin to hold.

The benefits I see with Feathercoin:

-Faster transaction times than both bitcoin and litecoin
-Limited coin supply capped at 336 million
-Good for the smaller scale miners whether CPU or GPU using the NeoScrypt algorithm
-In-wallet plugins for third party services including Coinnector, Shapeshift and Bitmessage, among others
-Advanced check pointing system ( ACP ) prevents malicious people from duping genuine users into double spending.
-One of the oldest altcoins and Still standing strong.
-Great community although more activity would be better

Current cons to the project:
-Not enough real world use case yet just like the majority of the altcoins
-It does not stand out too much amongst the other 800+ coins
-Little marketing and social media. Youtube is a huge medium for crypto at the moment but there is not much content on feathercoin.
-Not enough news or information about the project being discussed.
-On first glance, branding and name sounds trivial and newbies will dismiss this as a litecoin copy

Like I said I'm holding but that was my brief analysis. Would love to hear your thoughts

Does Ubiq have the potential to take over ethereum

This raises an issue I am hoping you guys maybe can help with.

Do you see UBIQ as a competitor to Ethereum or a complement to it?

At this moment it seems to it's mostly a competitor. What say you?

Competition in one respect. But also a complement. Competition is good as it drives innovation. Sometimes its easier being number 2 or 3 as you have benchmarks/standards to chase.

Imagine a world with one car company, one software company, one of everything.

In any case, as an investor it may be worth hedging by having a stake in both.
