Hello a very good contribution. I have a question for you: I have a 12er rig with Sapphire RX480 4GB. If I test a card in my PC I get 30.5 mH. I put the card in my rig with 12 cards, it only makes about 27.8. And this is the same for all cards in the rig. What can be there? Thanks

Check what DAG are you using for test. 30.5 for RX480 usually for low DAG like 50 or less, now for most of coins you have 200+

how should i update my rig AMD driver?
i see the driver is 17.5
but the latest driver is 18.3

The easy way is to download fresh Hive version and set up from scratch.

I can't resolve how to get the XMRIG 2.8.0 to work with this update, keep getting 'No Cuda Device Found'.

Previous versions worked fine and I can't figure out whats causing me to have this error.
Hello evereone! Have anybody experience of running monero v8 with tahiti cards (7970)? What miners are support this cards instead of SRB?

XMR-STAK 2.5.1

I am experiencing update bug with last few HIVE versions. Few days after Telegram notification I am unable to update. The update button is highglighted but after depressing it shows "you have the latest version" and do nothing. It is a bit annoying just before today's Monero fork.
Please look into it.

Do you still have this problem?
Try to connect to your rig using SSH and run command: selfupgrade

I still have the problem. The rig wan't update to .79 even after .80 is announced
I'll run selfupgrade and report results.

The rig went offline. No connection for 5 minutes, going to perform hardware reboot.

Base on my experience if you still have the problem after reboot, better to reinstall HiveOS, maybe corrupt upgrade...

After hardware reboot 0.5-80 version is reported, rig working properly so far. The only drawback is that "selfupgrade succsessful" message was lost.

Cool.
Have a good mining  Grin

Just the same problem with the next update, 0.5-81

Looks like the XMR fork is coming soon. About 3 weeks or so. And it doesn't look like Claymore will be updating his software to support the new algo.

Any miners out there that are stable for the AMD RX series and maybe the old Litecoin era GPUs like R9 280X/Radeon 7970 ?

XMR-STAK?

When I tried that program in the past, my speeds were much much slower than Claymore and if I added more threads it basically ended up in an instant freeze.

It seems to work better for newer GPUs but seems unstable for the older GPUs. Maybe will see if there is a newer version that is more stable.

As for now XMR-STAK 2.4.7 is a bit faster for Antilles GPU then the last Claymore that was compatible (9.7, now obsolete). But it really need fine-tuning and proper driver selection cause latest drivers for Antilles (15.7) do not report proper memory size. The problem was discussed in deep at XMR-STAK github https://github.com/fireice-uk/xmr-stak/issues/472. In short you have to use 14.4 driver for optimal performance. Please note that it is impossible to use HD69xx and RX in a single system with optimal performance.

Do people still mine with the 69xx GPUs? I assumed since AMD drivers 15.7.1 was the last supported version that most algos unless it's the Claymore aren't supported anymore.

I had luck mining ETH with that beast when the DAG was less than 2GB. I think it hashed at 26MHs and pulled 350Watts for that 1 GPU.

Equihash would never work for that GPU and neither did the other algos.

I sure miss that GPU. Bought it off a guy who used to mine BTC with it. Then I mined LTC, then Darkcoin, then ETH and last algo was XMR.

It ran at 100C for 24/7 for years and never had any issues. Redoing thermal paste did nothing.

Still have a bunch of the cards, still working without any problems. Due to high power consumption (I managed to stay within 250W for Monero7 and do not allow more then 85C for core) I have to run them only in night when we have special (50% reduction) electricity tariffs so it is surely not the best choice for now. I have better luck redoing termal paste - usually 10 degrees core temp reduction :-). When Claymore drop support for them I seek for alternative and with help of XMR-STAK community we found a way to work around the bag in 15.7 AMD drivers that prevented decent performance for HD6xxx cards. Going to use them to heat my garage in winter - no profit but no expence also :-)

@Claymore

Can you please add these ATI cards into your new miner:
HD 5970
HD 6970
HD 6990

Thanks in advance.

No way the obsolete cards will be again compatible with the miner. Feel free to use xmr-stak, up to date it is still compatible with a few tricks and driver 14.3 .

What is happening to the terascale cards?abandoned??

The last Claymore version supporting Terascale is 9.7. Unfortunately it do not support forks that occured this year.
At the moment you can use other miners for Terascale GPU in case you have free electricity and do not care for hash per watt value.
Try xmr-stak for example.

A small bug report.
I found that my ETH addres for referral payments is empty. I was not sure that I entered it at all so I try to do it now but without success. "Save" button do not seem to do anything. When I revisit the page later the address line is again empty :-(
No big deal, just five referrals for the moment but please add it for you "to do" list.
Thanks a lot for your great product! New version is definitely better.

Does anyone maybe knows what are the minimum system requirements for ruining HiveOs + 1 miner especially RAM memory? 2x RX580 on that rig.
Thanks!
4Gb recommended  but with 2 cards you can try with 2Gb of RAM

2Gb is enough for mixed AMD|NVIDIA rig with 5 GPU. At the moment I am using RX580, 2xRX570, RX560 and GTX1050TI in single system with 2Gb memory. I have 4Gb handy but do not feel any need to mess with good working system. I even run second miner for CPU - just to be sure that the system can handle the load but CPU is a low-end Atom so it make no sense for real.

Can this miner run on 2GB of system memory?
I had 3 gb ddr2, but one ram stick stopped working so I'm left with only 2 gb of system memory.
I tried to start miner and I get message: ethdcrminer64.exe has stopped working
I didn't have any problems so far with 3 gb of RAM.

I am running CDE v.11.8 with 2Gb Ram since the version is available, no problems. Just use Linux :-) and forget all this windows crap about pagefile, disabling updates and new drivers with performance issues. No-brainer for Linux noob - HiveOS with Web managment console and free for home mining up to 3 rigs.

You should do a guide on how to run a Xeon Phi x200  (KNL) on XMR-Stak Smiley.

You can start with info how much Xeon Phi you are able to run in a single system and what is required to run more than one Xeon Phi coprocessor in a system.

The information of list with altcoins store is real helpfull and actual, But the author tested all storemarkets from this list? And I want know how many stores are as scam?

Do not assume that anybody tested the stores from the list. I also want to know in advance about any scam but it is really not possible. For example no one can oversee when a store is sold to different owner.

Calculated Karbo Intrinsic Value in two versions with the current hash rate, if the entire network consists only of Antminer X3 ASICs and if only from AMD RX 570 graphic cards:

I'll d'like to point that single 570 tops 900+ H\s, not 600 as in the picture. So assuming all other calculation are correct we get a lot better average ROI for 570 :-)
Also I always keep 570 under 100 Wt, 200 Wt from the wall probably only for single-card computer with shitty PSU.
Surely it is by far less energy efficient that ASIC but let's stick to realities.

What is the advantage of the natural gas generator?  Is it cheaper to power rigs via natural gas generator than with regulator electric?

You can get natural gas for as low as $100 per 1000 cubic meters, it is usually 10 000 kW*hours - $0.01 per kW*hour
Modern high-power turbine generators go as far as 42% efficiency so we can expect something around $0.03 per kW*hour
Not bad at all. But you should seriously consider how long it will take to ROI. If you have some need for secondary heat output (say hot-water for sale) it helps a lot in terms of ROI. Unfornutaly at the moment we got $300 for natural gas locally and $0.05 for electricity so I have no chance to proof my studies for-real :-(.
