4 hours is indeed a long time.  It doesn't even seem accurate, is the forum aware of every moment that I have the tab open or something?
No it's not.  I have been in here for months and it still shows me at under two hours.

Yep, I've been browsing the various sections for quite a while now (pretty much the whole weekend) and I still only show 2 hours and 54 minutes.

Brilliant, nearly two hours later and my browsing time has gone from 2 hours and 54 minutes - to - 2 hours and 57 minutes !!

What are these, bitminutes ?

This used to be accurate months, and months ago, but It's taking me 15+ minutes of browsing to advance by a minute.

As much as I agree with the fact that something had to be done regarding spammers, it is utterly wrong to remove an individual's liberty because "someone" did something bad.
I will not even bother myself going into the political implications of a childish behaviour like "hey, SOMEONE did something wrong, and you are paying for it".

Bleh.

This isn't political and liberty only comes into play if someone is restricting someone rights through violence or the threat of violence, not when someone places restrictions on a service they offer freely.

It may not be the optimal way to prevent spam and is at the very least ridiculously annoying, but definitely not a restriction of 'rights.'

This tedious stuff, very off putting.

 Angry

Yes, the 'Total time logged in' counter is annoyingly inconsistent in updating.

Don't mine on a laptop, you'll burn up your GPU/Motherboard.

Hi All,

I'm in the process of starting a BTC options exchange.  I'll have more on that in a few days, and when I'm able to post in the wider forum.

Cheers

Hey BTCOptions,

I've thought about this a good deal. How far along in the process are you? I'm very interested to hear about it. I develop with PHP, and have done significant research in options trading. PM me if you want to talk anything through.

Best,
Jack_Jones

PM'd IMO.  Although the message does not show up in my outbox, so please let me know if you didn't receive it.

Currently looking for more programmers, designers, and *maybe* outside investors (although I'll cover most of the investment).  If anyone is interested in contributing for either a flat fee (USD or BTC) or equity share, you can PM me, and I'll let you know if we can use you at the moment.  Even if we can't, we plan on expanding very quickly after launch, and I'll make sure to put all interested parties on a list of people to contact when we need fresh talent.

Cheers

wow - I just realized that it is more challenging than I thought to convince yourself to write 5 completely useless newbie msgs. Maybe it is an effective filter to keep out people who are not used to writing nonesense posts and attract only the trolls...  Wink

WOW - with 5 hours logged on in two days I have 27 posts and some of you have trouble getting something to say for 5 posts!

Sounds like a "severe personal problem" to me!  Grin

Well no one ever accused me of being a "silent" partner in anything LMAO!

The problem (as I see it anyway) is if you came to the forum for something specific or have input on topics that aren't covered or don't have as much visibility in the Newbie section.

My 'Total time logged in' is still sitting at 0 minutes.  I'm guessing it will start to climb after I make my first post?
