As I posted before, he was obviously a scammer and I wanted the fun of hunting him.

For example, I've been doing lots in order to collect my random, including trying to convince a debt collection agency that he owes me $12k, we will see how that goes...
Maybe you could try and convince a debt collector to collect the actual money he owes you, it is a legit debt and all... these guys are ruthless and will jump at a chance to earn a fat commission so I'm sure they won't mind the lack of proof/contracts, a verbal contract is enough to hold a debt to someone in court, and yes debt includes anything, stock for a business, bitcoin is collectable it doesn't need to be currency you are collecting.

I PMed him an image, when his browser opened it, it requested the image from my server, giving me his IP.

If you want to trust somebody it would be better to use things like gpg signed contracts and the OTC-WOT than just relying on a forum account being who you think they are.
I buy GPG keys too, we will essentially buy your whole online identity.
There are uses of buying accounts other than scamming, in fact, highly reputable accounts are rarely sold for scamming, people are willing to pay premium for them so that they can use them to run their legitimate businesses/websites, it makes more sense to do that then to scam for a few bitcents. I also refuse to do business with scammers although other traders don't care.
Why does the forum allow the account selling threads? Well because account trading happens in private all the time too, there is nothing anyone can do to stop that.
I was the first person to start selling accounts on this forum publicly, my actual intentions were to highlight the fact that this can happen and does happen and move people away from trusting post counts and reputation and to use 2 of 3 escrows etc and it's worked. Accounts can be hacked or purchased and people need to realize that rep means nothing, trust no one.
Your friend should have PMed me instead of this new guy... I've been buying/selling accounts for months now, I was the first account trader here, and I've never had any problems. All it takes is a bit of professionalism.
Post the accounts username here, at least that way it'll be useless to him.
