2.5 Min block time isn't exactly fast by today's standards.. will this time shorten with development? In other words, I don't see how this coin could be worth much compared to ETH and ZEC..

Maybe someone can clear this up for me: Is it legal to trade Monetha in the US now? Or is it still considered an ICO?

Seems like potentially a good coin, but I have some questions.

Q: Why is block reward only 100?

Q: When is a more specific roadmap coming? For example when will website be completed? Need more details and not just "2017".

Q: ETA on more exchanges?

Q: How will this coin be worth anything after miners sell the profits? Could be Signatum all over again.

Okay. You've kicked yourself in the teeth here.

a) Your account is really quite worthless with it only being a "Member" and the fact that it has negative feedback, as well as default trust feedback.

b) Prepare for further negative feedback as sold accounts are generally used for scamming. I have sold accounts myself, but generally making some sort of effort to make sure it won't be used for scamming goes a long way. For example, leaving it neutral feedback to say you sold it, which you can't as your only account it appears is this one. Another way would be to sell it to someone that you know will be using it for legitimate purposes. Put short, please try and make sure you're not selling it to an a*****e.

Whatever, I'll take the best offer. It should obvious that I myself am not using this account for scamming or for any other reason as the last post from the account was over 2 years ago. It's simply been re-surfaced and to be sold to the highest bidder.
Without sounding sarcastic, I think you missed the point Tongue

Your account is worth pennies if you ask me, and it's more about what the person you sell it to will use it for rather than what you used it for previously.

Just out of interest, are you exiting Bitcoin completely, or just leaving the forum.

I still want to see if there is any interest / offers. I understand your points, but maybe someone wants the account for whatever reason and will pay something more than pennies.

I exited Bitcoin completely as it only makes sense for big investors at this point. Altcoins are good though

Are you sure you are selling starbucks giftcards because the two buyers claimed that you sent them something difference from what you claim to be selling.

They are listed as "serial numbers" but I thought that was just because you can't technically post starbucks cards on that site, I didn't expect to actually receive what looks like serial numbers..

Downsides of Bitcoin?
by
BTCfan97
on 18/07/2015, 07:52:42 UTC
In another thread I meantioned some of the advantages Bitcoin has over cash (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1113484.0)

Truth is not many people I know personally use Bitcoin. None of my friends or direct family members do and here are some reasons why I think that is.

I have provided some workarounds to most of these "downsides". Like everything in life, Bitcoin isn't really perfect.

1) While Bitcoins are not controlled by an actual Government, etc, that also means that there is no official "customer service" for Bitcoin, especially when it comes to reimbursement; If you lose your private keys you are screwed, the coins are gone and therefore your money. Doesn't matter who you buy Bitcoins from, they can't help you at that point. Some companies have made this pretty avoidable though, by just allowing a username and password to sign into your Bitcoin wallet.

2) Not enough businesses directly accept Bitcoin. While some big name companies do accept them, overall they aren't accepted at most online and local businesses at this point of writing. There are a lot of ways around this though just because of what Bitcoins CAN buy, which can be used to trade for the item you desire. For example if a local or online business accepts PayPal but not Bitcoin, it's easy to convert it.

3) Bitcoin can be stolen through malware, social engineering, being robbed at gunpoint, etc. Malware can certainly be avoided, you can store your Bitcoins offline, encrypted, etc. on a malware free machine/device. Social engineering is unlikely, if you are familiar with Bitcoins, you are probably familiar with social engineering. Being robbed at gunpoint can hopefully be prevented by meeting in a busy coffee shop, etc.

4) Bitcoin is not "user friendly". With terms like "Blockchain", "mBTC", "Private Key", "Hashing", "QR Code", etc. I can see where a lot of not tech-savvy people would be discouraged. It's clear that Satoshi didn't design Bitcoin to be used by everyone.

5) You can't pay your Government's taxes, fees, etc. in Bitcoin (at least I know in my country you can't).

Feel free to contribute to this, I would love to hear some opinions.

Starbucks Cashout Guide USA (Tips for staying annoymous included) - Only $5
by
BTCfan97
on 10/07/2015, 21:40:57 UTC
Update: Do to a negative trust issue I have I am offering this on cryptothrift.com where I have positive trust and accept escrow.
https://cryptothrift.com/auctions/download-misc/starbucks-cashout-guide-usa-50-off-limited-time-only-151294/

Selling a good Starbucks USA cashout guide that I wrote myself. You will receive a detailed 2 page PDF on how you can (even annoymously) cashout Starbucks gift cards the same day you receive them. I tried to be as detailed and original as possible with this guide. I've seen worst guides sell for a lot more. Depending on your State you could make a lot of money if you follow this guide, I won't advertise making $3000 a day like some sellers do, because that is kind of unrealistic although not impossible in some States. In my expeience I've earned between $100 - $500 per day. You will receive a link to download a .zip folder with the PDF inside. Send $5 BTC to the address in my profile for fast delievery. I also accept escrow on this on Cryptothrift.com via the link above.

Why have Bitcoin instead of cash?
by
BTCfan97
on 08/07/2015, 06:10:49 UTC
I recently paid for some local tacos using Bitcoin. My friend who was unfamilar with Bitcoin thought it was strange, like I technically didn't pay for them or something. We got into discussing Bitcoin and one of the questions he asked me was:
"Why would you want Bitcoins instead of cash?". For a second I didn't know what to say; then I thought about it and here is what I came up with. Feel free to contribute to this.

1) More security (especially if you are careful).

2) Bitcoins are a potential investment, cash is not. Paper currency only really goes down in value, Bitcoins have a lot of potential to be worth more as time goes on.

3) Fast, worldwide transactions at your fingertips.

4) Similar to #3, but it's a universal currency. It's legal in most countries of the world and you don't need any kind of currency conversion to send money to people in a different country than your own.
