Just a quick question, would this miner work on 6990 ? These cards have 2x2GB of memory and they mined Eth pretty good... Just asking because I can get two of those for free... that's 4 GPU's more Wink

Yes it definately works with the 6990.

Total speed 10 H/s using only 300 Watts (both cores)

This seems terrible, the 7870 with 2gbs gets 100-110 H/s and uses ~140-150 watts.

Slow start kills the first months, hopefully zcash can get out of that or not.
Those, who are availing free mining at www.Zcash-Miner.com in the slow start mining phase, are the real gainer.

Math would disagree, a 480x can pull ~160 H/s So for 3 months I would pay 2 BTC or ~1400 USD for what a $220 graphics card and nominally $180 in power would deliver. So I would be paying $1K for the service a markup of 2.5x.

Thus they would not be the "real gainer"

132-135 on all my RX 480s

Change your mem straps, I can push 165 on all mine.  The strap change ups to 155-160 then push memory to like ~2200 and you are there.

2x MSI RX480 8GB, Getting 80-90H/s

You can push those each up to ~52 ish, I have the same card, you need ~3 modifications to the Bios.
use the Polaris bios editior to

Change memory strap: to 777000000000000022339D00CE516A3D9055111230CB4409004AE600740114206A8900A00200312 0150F292F94273116
then bump the memory speed to 2200
and change the mem voltage from 975 to like 1025-1050 (this is needed for stability i found at 975 it crashes every few hours)

massive your millage may very but all the cool kids are doing it so, gl!

hi i rented hash speed at rig.online 420 mhs dagger it just mines with low speed sometimes its complete offline thats not what i thought for a 24 h period for 0.09xxx btc same for the miner that should mine at 280 mhs it mines slower so the expected target calculator wise shoud be around 20 to 25 ether for 700 mhs lets see if i can get it with the rented power or if its a scam did somebody use this service before all mining boxes are rented there

I've rented there and the math worked out +/-5% or better.

My problem is I have 3 7970's and I'm only getting 38 MH/s. I was expecting 75. It's all good gear. I'm a reader since 2012, but this time I can't find any info.

Hey so, 75 is what you would have gotten at launch when the DAG was like 800 MB.  The DAG is now like 1.35 GB...performance of a 7970 has gone from 25 ish to about 16...so I think you should be able to get 48 at this point.

Hey everyone, mainnet launch date is 12:00 PM CST February 8th, 2016. Some extra information here. This will mean extra work completed on PoW pools and a simple PoS pool on launch. Hopefully now everyone can make their arrangements for the big day!

Awww what a pity... And I wanted to ninja launch a pool right after launch.. Sad

I am gona solo mine until your pool launches...then you get all my hash from Eth (on your pool) switching to your Decred Pool.  So i guess thats neutral from your standpoint.

Re: Help setting up a Blake256 Mining rig

I basically need a list of hardware and whatnot to purchase in order to create a Blake256 mining rig for mining a new coin coming out called Decred. I cant seem to find anything that really helps me with this problem. Im aware that I need a GPU but after that im sorta clueless. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ahead of time.

Blake 256 is a nasty algo on AMD cards; very high power consumption.  I believe NEOs used it, most tahiti and pitcarn cards could not keep below their thermal thresholds as I recall without a secondary fan blowing air on them directly.

MM, it's mining, i'm submitting shares, the only thing that isn't changing is the website. My hash rate seems to be going down.

The proxy connection seems not be displayed in my account page.

Thanks for reporting, we've already solved it!

The problem was on the share name's: it was called "Eliovp/rig1" and not "eliovp/rig1" but our pool are case sensitive.
Now we fixed it and your hashare still increase.

PS: We pay 1ETH for reporting this problem asap.

One other oddity

if you put "url": "http://pool.pooleth.com/pool/bagdar13/rig1 ",
vs "url": "http://pool.pooleth.com/pool/bagdar13/rig1",
notice the space after rig1; that will also cause shares to be submitted but not credited.  So in case anyone else has this problem FYI.

Is there any news about the development of the etherminer so that it can cope with the larger DAG size. We are approaching 1280MB.

I have heard nothing.  I also tested this and found a problem at ~1280 as well.

I started looking on forums as I noticed a substancially drop off on the 7970 cards at ~1.2 GB.

At this point my 280xs are down from 27 to about 24
and
At this point my 7970s are down from 22 to about 17 each (this was what supprised me and this problem is present on XFX, powercolor and one other)

This drop in performance seems to be larger than the expected drop

Oddly enough my 7870s seem to have suffered little if any performance hit and are still happy doing 15 same as at launch.

Edit my 7870s are the ghz edition, however, i also have a sapphire and a 7870 MIST (which is really a broken 7950) both of these are also unaffected.

Food for thought.

Do you find the drop during the test or the actual mining?

I am now dropping in actual mining on this hardware with the dag update at block 840000; the point being is my drop in hash seems to be more than predicted by the size of DAG increase.

For those who mining with us from 13 January to 20 January 2016 included,
we will give you an extra bonus equal to the average of your daily mining on these 8 days.
This extra bonus will be distributed in only one time on 22 January 2016, after manual checks.

For example if you have 100 MHs and you mine using all your power in our pool for these 8 days, we will give you one day of full mining free!

In other words, this extra bonus corresponds to up +12.5% and with the bonus of 25% (always valid) we will give you a total bonus of 37.5% for this 8 days.

Happy Mining!  Smiley

If you could install a stratum support I would be happy to mine with you given this type of bonus.  However, even with your +25% bonus you are only on par with suprnova due to getwork.

Hm, i can only say that my average hashrate droped by 5% (approx) from it was week ago. Sometimes i see connection problems, but most of time pool works fine.

Hashrates are dropping with the increasing DAG size...there also appears to be a potential issue with the miner such that after DAG ~1.28 GB hashrate will fall off a cliff for many cards.

That was my first step. Wink Didn't worked.

I have had this problem as well, the documentation says that should work however i have never been able to get it to work like that on my rigs.

However what might help is if you want to disable 0 if you set --opencl-device 1 then set the number of threads to 1 less than the number gpus it will start with 1 and then not use 0.  At least it does on my machine, but if you are trying to lock out any other except 0 I don't know any way to do it.

Looked at your pool stats and I note that the payout does not tally with the mining calculator at etherscan.io
100 MHps is calculated to pay just over 5 ETH per day but your contributors seems to be achieving about 3+ ETH only.
Maybe I am interpreting it wrong...

Try it for 24h and report back - my calcs were/are based on etherscans source, I will check it again as soon as I have some time.

I have been using suprnova for a while and I am geting 20.5 Eth on 430 MHps exactly inline with calculations, so I can vouch for the efficiency.  Also, it is returning 5-10% more with the bonus over dwarf, where i got 19.5 Eth in the same time with the same power.

Edit: dont be fooled by pooleths +25% offer even with the bonus its no better (and possibly worse) than suprnova due to no stratum etc.

We are now at the dump phase. 11k sat means 35 BTC whole worth of Soil wich is funny. It take it plase soon, probably 50k is a realistic price when dev share his future plans.
For now I prefer to buy, it is cheaper than mining, no costs. Weak hands will fill my pockets as always. Smiley

Same to me  Grin

Totally agree, right now there are no buyers only sellers.  Those who have been mining are on this thread and know about the coin, they can sell.  The coin has only been listed for less than a day, no buy support will emerge until people know about the coin or the price drops below the level it costs to mine.  This is never an instant process, but the ability to list sells is instant.  This creates a early imbalance; give it a few days.  I never understand why people rush to put all their coins up for sale the instant its listed and then race each other to the bottom before any buyers would even exist.

Just don't dump

So what I am hoping is that enough has been mined at this point to provide some incentive not to dump.  As one of the test net miners I was granted 5k, however, at this point I have now mined well over 5k more so I am a bit more vested.  The network has been running at around 400 difficulty so I am guessing a lot of people have some incentive to not insta dump, vs coins which get on an exchange in a day and then its a grab for quick value.  On the other hand, some people may seek to quickly recover a longer period of mining costs, which could lead to selling.

I am interested to see if difficulty rises now that we are listed. If difficulty rises within the next week one would probably be foolish to dump off the bat as a rising difficulty typically indicates a rising price in alt coins (its not a perfect indicator but nothing is).

That being said, i understand some people will sell a portion quickly to cover mining fees and others would not be wrong to sell if there is a quick spike in price over the next week or two.
