Is it possible to earn bitcoins from playing games?

What kind of games do you mean? One way of earning free bitcoins nowadays is through faucets but it doesn't give you that much and takes too much of your time. But if you have the time and want to get bitcoins for free then that is one way that you could try. Remember, bitcoin is also money and with the rise of its price there's no really fast way to get a big amount of bitcoin unless you buy it.

Re: Bitcoin HAS FAILED

Bitcoin has failed.

It costs up to $100 to send a small transaction, I find it hard to believe bitcoin hasn't dropped to $0 already. There will be a future crypto (I like Litecoin) but the future crypto is defiantly NOT Bitcoin. Its unreliable and is almost impossible to recover funds if they never confirm.

Im looking forward to bitcoin failing and something else taking over, im surprised im saying that as I hold a little bit of bitcoin, but I feel it has failed and nothing more than market hype and new comers are causing this price influx.

I would of course change my mind if the developers where actively doing something about this issue and keeping us informed, but it appears they are not. Lightning network has not been integrated, Segwit 1x is not used.

Despite us knowing bitcoin has scaling issues for years nothing has been done about it, and now it Is much cheaper and safer to send money via a bank transfer.

Yes, this is an ongoing problem with Bitcoin at the moment. If you want to send a small amount of BTC then you're screwed. You can't use it for small transactions. Right now, BTC only is a store of value and until Lightning Network comes and works as intended then we can't experience the full potential of BTC.

For sure, but not this year. We only have 2 weeks left until 2018 and I doubt we would reach 30k by then. 21-22k would be my bet for this year if it will still follow the growth of price we saw these past few days. Even 25k is possible but that's pretty optimistic and won't happen as long as something positive will happen.

We just broke 18k today and we're very likely to reach 20k by the end of the year. If the price growth will continue throughout the remaining days then will surely get 20+k easily

Re: Is it worth getting paid in Bitcoin for freelance work?

I’m a web developer/designer and wondered if it’s worth getting paid in bitcoin? I’m from the UK and not sure how it would work in terms of the end of year tax return.

Definitely worth it but kinda risky! I'm a freelancer too but I haven't found any work that pays bitcoin. If ever you get paid in bitcoin and you hodl, as long as the price will continue to rise then that would be great for you.

Yep, very likely to reach $20k before the year ends as long the rise in price will continue for the remaining days. As of now, we're near $19k already.

Sending small amount of BTC nowadays is not viable at all because of the fees. Will LN greatly help solve the current issue of high transaction fees?
It will definitely help the transaction fees and transaction times. But will it be enough? For us to be able to send small amounts without paying higher in fees? We don't know yet. Time will tell. *fingers crossed*

Also, why is Segwit not implemented by popular exchanges like Coinbase and some online wallets when it could help lower the transaction fees? I've read that the adoption rate of Segwit is merely 15-18% only and have already fallen low. If ever LN does come, would it be widely accepted or just the same as Segwit?
Most exchanges and services are still probably working on using SegWit addresses to their systems. I don't know how SegWit works in a code level so I'm really not sure, but it will probably take a bit of time before every exchange and service uses SegWit.

I think Segwit won't be enough but at least it'll act as a band-aid to the high fees we are experiencing right now.

Hopefully, LN does work as intended and widely adopted if it comes already.

What would be the best way to earn BTC aside from faucets, signature campaign, mining or buying it?

Hello yahoo62278!

I'll probably be disqualified since I'm still a newbie for now but it does no harm if I try!

First and foremost, advance merry christmas and thank you for sharing some love this christmas!

I just recently got into Bitcoin this past few months and it all started when I saw a post of Bitcoin's ATH in the front page of Reddit. That was the time where I was interested about Bitcoin and its popularity. At first, I just wanted to learn a few information about Bitcoin but as soon I started I kept reading and watching videos all about cryptocurrency. It started from Bitcoin, to blockchain technology, to hard forks, to alt coins, etc. I was really engaged with the surge of new information that I was learning. I learned so much about crypto, its importance and how useful it is. It then came to me that I wanted to be part of the crypto community, support cryptocurrency and hopefully own a few bitcoins/altcoins. But sadly, due to my current situation I can't own or buy crypto. I am living own my own and my salary is spent for rent and expenses. Where I live 1 BTC is already almost a million on our own local currency. That's when I thought of getting or earning a crypto online. I've searched and found free giveaways or events but mostly were not legit. And that what led me to this website and to your own giveaway. Though I'm not really the affected if I ever don't own any cryptocurrency for now. I'm still on the ride because crypto's future for me looks promising. I know I'm a bit too optimistic since crypto at the moment is not perfect and still have issues. But I know years from now cryptocurrency will be something useful and valuable to all people in the world.

Here's hoping that we will be part of something big in the future!

Once again, advance merry christmas and thank you very much for what you are doing for the community!

If anyone wants to share some love and make someone happy this christmas: 35XgMwk8HDtfm5ZjxBs46LehVwDDkfdMm4
