Re: A good way to avoid scam ICO projects
by

The only way to avoid the ICO Project Scam is to do analysis. We can do analysis by searching for information on various websites and forums. Besides that, following various developments in information in a community can help us monitor what points will help the project develop.

When there is something suspicious then we should avoid the ICO project, keep the assets we have and it will help us to get closer to success.
Analysis for each project is a good idea at this time because any project will be very risky and can cause you to lose a lot of assets in a short time. I personally believe that investing in ICO projects is not the best time choice and you should go back in 2019 because the opportunity to make a profit is higher.

I think I will take part in ICO if it is permitted by government agencies such as SEC.

Invest in the Cryptocurrency market by choosing among the top 100 subcoins. I know there are lots of scam projects but there are many platforms that have the potential to grow in the future. see, for example, Neo, Eos and Komodo platforms. These platforms have community support.

Do you think Bitcoin Cash is also a good platform?

Surprised to see this thread bumped up. Almost forgot I created it last year.

It's funny how it was almost a year later for mining profitability to drastically reduce to the point where we see loads amounts of GPUs all over Craiglists and eBay.

I also wonder too if we will ever get a mining boom again. Even if the ETH and BTC prices finally start going back up, the difficulties are just crazy high to go back to the $5/day/RX 470 profit levels.
In bearish market they are less coins profitable to mine so diff is higher, when prices are going up more coins is profitable and diff is going down a bit or stay the same level. When they are extreamly high profits per card many ppl start buying GPUs and diff start rising again Cheesy So it's normal market process imo.

I agree. I just make the GPU work more efficiently, so they will generate less heat.

In mid-February, it was reported that crypto mining in the country of Iceland would consume more energy than households in 2018

What's the source of the electricity in Iceland? Geothermal renewable Roll Eyes

Typical idiot journalism and academic work here. Nowhere does this article mention the reason why cryptocurrency mining uses energy (although a reason is given, which is incorrect).

What would you expect from Cointelegraph.com, though? The article appears to be copy-pasted directly from some other publication anyway, which strongly implies Cointelegraph.com don't employ anyone to check the text in "their" stories, which you'd think would be particularly important when the text has been copied from a different website

I think most of the energy used by the mining farm would otherwise be wasted. The examples are the hydro, solar, wind energy.

Re: What do you make of the current ICO market?

The current market provide a great opportunity for one to pick up good projects at dirty cheap price, though projects are now suffering becasue of he sentiment against ICOs, before ICO sold out in few minutes some even in pre-sale but now the story is different and I think this is good because one of the issue with all these ICOs is over valuation of their project

That is right. But still the ICO is risky as they are not regulated. I would prefer Bitcoin Cash or Bitcoin or even litecoin.

If there was a single best coin to mine, everyone would be mining it all the time.
Depends on your situation and what's available around you.

Monero could be a good coin to mine after the PoW change as no ASIC will mine it.

The only thing that will be obsolete is your brain, any video card size can mine most coins.

That is right. The ZCash mining uses very little memory.

I am slowly loosing hope in Bitcoin . The prices of Bitcoin are dropping rapidly in this recent time gap. First , it was because of the boycott of Chinese due to which Bitcoin fell from near 5k USD to say 4.3k USD and now because of JP Morgan ( he called Bitcoin fraud) . Being an economist guy , his words matter a lot when it comes about currency . So now Bitcoin fell down to like 3.5k USD . So this is why I am feeling like investing in other crypto currencies like Ethereum (ETH) as I feel I has the ability to surpass Bitcoin .

Oh maybe by this time you'll not say those words as bitcoin now is increasing drastically. We're now in $4400 and many are hoping for the rally to continue as the Chinese drama is over.
This is a great start for this October and it seems our christmas will be more merrier than ever.
However, eth is also good to invest in if you really don't feel bitcoin now, but I know for sure you'll regret if you sell and buy back again when the price started to increase more.

I think Bitcoin Cash, ETH or XMR are worth buying.

Ark and Lisk are two very good buys going into the end of the year. Good development teams showing real work and progress - check them out for yourselves and see :>

That could be good. But there are some larger cap coins, such as Bitcoin Cash or Ethereum, they might be safer.

Re: For the first time in a while... seems like there is a shortage of miners

@groovy1962

ZCash is alluring for many reasons but it is developed by a company. It's growth and development is less organic than how Bitcoin came up. ZEC just got propped onto Poloniex on day 1 with a hype train for it is Bitcoin 2.0 and we all know the Poloniex effect by now. That slow start emission was a way to jack the price up early. Honestly looking at it if I was a dev I'd be selling all my ZEC early while the price was effectively manipulated and pumped up early for lots of BTC and than buy back in when it is cheap. 10% of all ZEC to ever be mined going to a small group of people is a very high amount of wealth if this were to reach world changing high value. 20% of the first 4 years of mining is 10% of all ZEC to exist due to the halvenings upon halvenings every 4 years. It's something how saying 20% for the first 4 years only downplays the magnitude.

The clones do not suffer in the same way LTC does. LTC only offered 4x quicker block time to speed things up. There was no special interest and possible centralization motives in the development in either coin so LTC just became silver compared to gold.

ZEC devs are a closed group. It's not for the people by the people. It's for the little people, by the big people. ZCL is more of a community coin. Without any radically high founders tax on ZCL they managed to develop a windows wallet before the super professional and well compensated ZEC team. Why are these guys paid so much to continue developing the coin?

Oh one more thing. People like to attack Dash over the instamine and how Evan has 500,000 instamined coins. Well 500k out of 18 million when Dash hits its total circulation is only 2.7% of the total Dash circulation actually. That's nearly 1/4th of 10% in the case of ZEC's pseudo dev instamine

After 4 years it will not be paid by the ZEC miing. So at that time, it could be developed by a larger community.

ZEC is a big ? right now, will it stagnate for years like XMR did and then take off or will it just die?

ZEC and the other Z coins are very profitable right now.  If this is stagnation, may we have years of it!  (Of course your results with RADEON may be different.)

I will say this -- Z.cash is one of the first genuinely memory hard coins.  IT marks the direction of the industry in my opinion.

It is memory hard, but not as hard as expected.

Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear?

can not because bitcoin just a digital currency , and not always life..
Yes indeed, Bitcoin 'not always life' or it can't to be live forever because it has limited supply and it is just a digital currency and it can lose for the incoming cryptocurrencies or digital currencies in the future because if the bitcoin doesn't improve for this next few years, I'm sure that the users or the community will migrate to another coin.
yes that is as a fact although it is limited but still it will stay  for ever/
nope i think bitcoin users are already comfortable using bitcoin. and they will continue to maintain bitcoin #imo
for the bank itself. it will continue to run look both have different functions
both will be run in accordance with the purpose of each. bitcoin has its own market and also the bank has demand. it can not be removed and will continue until one of them has a remarkable feature.
Time will answer us whether Bitcoin can sweep away bank or not. Bank is centralized and Bitcoin is decentralized. Both of them are not supporting each other. They are totally different and therefore, they can not live together in this planet. Bitcoin is still very weak. in the future, I hope that I can see more people using Bitcoin. Then, we can witness the war between bitcoin and banks

The banks can also open business for the bitcoin. That will cut their operating cost.

Bank will never be disappeared if they becoming scam lots of people are going to file a case for those owner of a banks, Well from me banks are stsrting adopting bitcoins ad technology base in my country we can deposit our bitcoins into banks.
And what do you think it will come off those possible cases against the banks? Banks and bankers are too powerful they will never suffer the consequences of their actions.

The law is for the people and for the companies, sure they can try to buy the law, but sooner or later someone will find and put them into the jail, banks doesnt need and wont scam, they make and earn huge loads of money all years, dont expect bitcoin to be a problem to them, just few of us able to live without them.
They don’t have to try, they already did, banks don’t scam? A few years ago HSBC was investigated for money laundering, what do you think it happened, nothing just a fine, a gigantic fine for any of us, but nothing for a bank.

These big banks are criminals or help the criminals. Quite a few got fined for doing bad things.

Yeah if you  jointly earned from signature campaign and trading then I don't think you need to find other ways to earn bitcoins as both of them will give you descent income regularly.

Though these two are the best ways to earn bitcoin but still if someone is willing to keep earning bitcoins regularly he will have to develop some skills in him as signature campaigns cannot be forever nor trading can earn you profits everyday, so someone should always has another back up option.

The best way to earn the bitcoin is to do a proper job and get paid in the bitcoin or you can buy the bitcoin.

I do not think that will happen  anytime soon. In the current world economy, banks  are the foundation of money in general, and when  I say money in general I refer to fiat money.  But the things, of course,  can change a lot with time...

Well it is not going to happen either because banks are really stable for a long time for almost centuries. They are already in the economy and they are contributing big part for the wealth of the country. So if bitcoin is going to make the banks disappear then that is going to be a big loss for a government but I don't think banks are able to make bitcoin disappear too.

The bitcoin will not make the banks disappear. The banks can use the bitcoin instead of the fiat, and reduce running cost.

You could try using Circle - they accept VISA credit or debit cards. Just note that the prices will be higher than on the standard exchanges. The same thing goes for localbitcoins - if you want to use cards to buy, you end up paying a bigger premium.

I think the price for debit cards are much lower than credit cards. I might be wrong, but usually card issuers charge a much lower fee for DCs than CCs due to the risk of CCs.

The is the case for the conventional fiat credit/debit cards. Is that the same for the bitcoin debit/credit cards?

Yes I think the bank will not adopt bitcoin as I am sure the bank continues to issue its own system. Bitcoin will not make disappear the bank because the bank has the power of government and as a reference for the economy of a country.

If the banks are allowed to use the bitcoin, they will use it. As that will cut their operating cost and make more profit.

I think the bitcoin will adopt the bitcoin as soon as they are allowed to do so. The obstacle is the central banks.
