Its actually not. He took our tech and cloned it to make bucks or teeth or vary or whatever the new thing was that he was merging all of his coins into. He did give me a heads up he was going to do it but  its open source so its gonna happen either way even if I said "please don't".
Was hoping to roll the Banana Stand update last friday but now its this friday already and the days are blending together... I'm testing, will roll it soon, there is probably room to do more work on better/stronger propagation of the banana stand inventory across the network but I don't have to hold up the release for that. For some reason in development its always the seemingly simple stuff that winds up taking a lot longer than expected due to dumb gotchas, and the seemingly hard stuff that you wind up banging out really fast.
The way this is going to work is it uses PIN based authorization, so when you first link your Twitter account you will have to input the PIN number that Twitter gives you to authorize the app and get a token, after that it just operates until you unlink your account/revoke access.

I have not had a chance to actually test this in a clean/new environment.

Been working on wrapping up Nanas for windows. Discovered after days of going down a rabbit hole of trying different QT versions that you can't really use/deploy the advanced features of QT properly doing a static build on Windows, although it is theoretically possible it simply doesn't work right. So I grabbed the new QT 5.5 and I'm putting together a dynamic build which should be ready "soon"
In the meantime, I put together a static 64-bit linux qt demo build that you can try out to see the new Banana Stand: bananabits-qt-linux-64bit-static.tar.gz
It should work on ubuntu 14.04 or newer.

Had a small hurdle getting compile to work on Windows but after monkeying all night got it working Had to recompile QT5 with various additional libs, and then compile QCA and QOAuth. Am presently in the process of swapping out QTweetLib to QOAuth so that we have a multi-platform solution. Once that's completed then we're good. I passed a little tech demo build around to a few monkeys, and the feedback has been positive and they all really like the interface. Gonna have some bananas for dinner and then we'll get the release ready.

We're just working on solving a common problem with the twitter api with spaces in the tweets that causes the api to respond with an error code. Once that last hurdle is sorted than we are good to go for the big reveal.

Been following this coin for awhile, looks interesting. Feels pretty similar to what a few other coins are currently doing or planning, but with a starting marketcap far lower to enter. Some general questions for if you can answer any of them:
Do individual users set their own price per tweet?
Can users choose to decline advertisers they don't feel comfortable tweeting about? -- Do the users approve the advertiser, or the exact ad copy that is going to be tweeted?
Are there discounts for buying tweets in bulk, or buying a network-wide ad?
Do individual users need to hit a minimum number of NANAS threshold in order to withdraw?
Are any tweets ever automatically posted that are not rewarded with NANAS?
- Users set their own price - Users approve the exact ads - There is no discount functionality, but that might be something nice to add for the future - No minimum, you are paid directly into your wallet user to user - Nothing is ever automatically posted without being approved by the user, all status updates are paid
Thanks!

Is it normal for me to have to keep clicking start on my trees all the time, or is the patchy wireless connection that machine is on most likely causing my issue?
Even better, is there some autostart magic feature in the debug console?
You should not be clicking start at all if you created a 1 click banana tree. You do need to make sure you have good internet connectivity.

The Banana Stand is getting close to completion with a cutting edge user interface. Unlike other solutions, with the Banana Stand you don't give your money away to some guy somewhere, you get paid directly yourself. More info soon.

what is the level of commitment of the dev of this coin? Is dev fulltime on this coin for life, or going to drop this coin as soon as a bump in the road happens?
There is a team of monkeys on BananaBits and it is well supported
