Yes they did. Frankly it is better for everyone, because often advertisement about crypto-currencies were a mix of shady cloud mining companies and bad ICOs. Protecting people so they are not disgusted is the best to have them come to Bitcoin.

Re: Why is bitcoin the most popular cryptocurrency?
by

Bitcoin is the most popular crypto-currency because it is the oldest. It has built its reputation among people mind accross time, and I doubt any crypto-currency will ever achieve the same. Bitcoin will remain the biggest crypto-currency. Zirconium did not overpass diamonds, and I think it will be the same here, Bitcoin being the diamond and zitconium being altcoins.

Usually grand-mother do not care about money and will not live long enough to see in what there investment turned in, so even though I am an extreme Bitcoin believer, I would never have done this.

All of this is because of Bitcoin price fluctuations. Your DigiByte is already up by 46% today, no need to panic, it will recover, but that rise was the mightiest of all, so altcoins sank inevitably. They will however rise back, no need to worry about that.

Re: How would Alts be affected by a Bitcoin crash?

Money is coming and going from one to another. So when Bitcoin price drops, altcoins price increases. When Bitcoin price increases, all the altcoins drop in price. Do not note that it depends on Bitcoin, and not the inverse. An altcoin rise will not make Bitcoin price drop.

Stocks are safer because growth or falls are predictable, but profits are very low. On the other hand, Bitcoin can bring way more profits way quicker, but however the price is totally unpredictable. Make your choice ! For me, no need to think about it twice, better risk money on something that is actually well-paying !

There is in fact nothing that prevent prices from dropping critically, but the consensus of buyers and sellers that makes the price could not be broken so hard that it would happen.

I agree with you, connection speed matters a lot. But what I feel is even more problematic is the 504 Busy error that happened two consecutive days for now, at least for some hours. What is strange is that it was at the same moment approximatively.

The last one I invested in was Waves. At that time they were the sole ICO, and they looked very professional, so I trusted them, and glad I had !
It seems ripple will pass the bitcoin's market cap. I think it is best successful coin in terms of business.
You are simply dreaming... Ripple is not even a crypto-currency, this is a bank Trojan horse, so please all stop supporting this worthless crap. Thank you.

Bitcoin is better because transfering a lot of money does not cost much in itself. Try to transfer 10M $ dollars in gold, and send me the bill. I bet it will be huge, while Bitcoin will ask for only about 10$ maximum.

Re: Should I sell my ETH and buy NEO?
by
Bananier
on 13/08/2017, 13:46:28 UTC
No you should not. NEO is just a temporary hype. There is nothing yet on NEO, it as all to prove, while Ethereum is established and praised worldwide. Make your choice.
That's true, each second seems valuable at the present rather than the past days. This is because of the growth happening in abundance. I lost around $600 selling at the price of $3500, once after selling the price has increased for each second and has crossed above $4100 shortly.
Yep, hard times for shorters. That is why I will sell nothing for at least the next 4 years, because each second the price can me much higher or much lower. Plus with what I have, it will not be worth the time and energy put in.

A good time is like now when Bitcoin is mooning and close to everything is red on Poloniex is red. Buy any crypto-currency there and it will make you profits. As simple as this !

Re: Still don't believe BTC can reach 5K, then 10K and then 50K?
$5000 I can easily believe, because we're almost there. Those other prices, for me, require a tad more faith. I must say, theret lots of money coming in from somewhere and if so called 'common folks' are getting in on this, we could be in for a real bubble. Like comic books and baseball cards in the 80s and 90s. Know what I'm saying?
No, this is not a bubble, or else why are you still here on Bitcointalk if you believe this ? I am simply believing this is the natural growth of Bitcoin, and 10 000$ and 50 000$ are absolutely probable by 2020 and 2022.

We talk about SolidX because of Winklevoss denial. The twins' ETF was known for a long time, while this one has no chance of getting accepted. This is less greater exceptations put in it. There is few reasons to get anxious about a price fall.

Let me reassure you : even though Bitcoin Unlimited neared 50% at some moment, they are now far from being the majority. The fork is becoming each day that passes less risky.
