Re: Isn't this a problem with bitcoin; so we should use like quarks instead?

The solution is a coin wich is not mined that's all.
Mining was a good way for spreading the coin at begining cause it was diificult to give a value to something virtual but now it's something useless not ecological and making inflation there are technolologies like NXT or BTS wich provide high security with almost no mining and with transactions 10 to 100 times faster than bitcoin + with some unique features inside the wall like assets.

So NXT left quarks in the dust.

people call that bitcoin 2.0 technology???

CPU mining is not a solution.

  • There is nothing that would stop people from building warehouses full of CPUs for mining.
  • There is nothing that prevents ASIC miners for quark. If quark ever becomes valuable enough, there will be ASIC miners.

Besides, it is a myth that only people with a lot of money can mine. You can buy a 453 GH/s miner for $200 right now.

well the difference is I/normal people don't need experience to have a general computer with CPU to mine

well its harder to mine; wouldn't it be harder to create custom mining hardware as well?

Litecoin ASIC's are not the magnitude faster than GPU's compared to bitcoin asic's vs GPU's

Nothing is black and white but always about the DEGREE of which something is different

Back in 2010 the mining was decentralized. people with just a cpu were mining bitcoin

Now its only people with big resources.

People with money, not average income people, own/control the printing presses.

Though they can't (easily) change the speed of printing; they're still doing the printing.

Alternatives like quark; at least right now make it possible for the cpu to be mining at a much higher advantage than expensive centralized operations.

Isn't it preferable for the people to control the mining Aren't we at risk? What if China just tookover 70% mining, decided which transaction were published and what changes to bitcoin they wanted

Is quark still the best option for levelling the playing field in terms of mining capacity in hardware? (most resistant to big industries monopolizing the mining capacity)

Probably because you spam posted your site.

"spam"
Well according to the rules of reddit (which you agreed to when you signed up for an account with them) this is not allowed.

I am not 100% sure if this would be considered "spam" or not, but it was certainly against the rules and you were trying to manipulate the system.

Rules are selectively enforced

How does StorJ/MetaDisk/DriveShare compare to Filecoin?
Will these be competing technologies that offer the same thing?

One of our writers wrote an article on Filecoin; I added a mentino of StorJ to the end

We can do a longer article on StorJ/MetaDisk/DriveShare for future. Perhaps someone can consult us. http://BanksWorstFear.com/contact

Everyone keeps mentioning the rules like I denied violating the rules or something.

Plenty of people about U.S. laws; people dont just tell them to obey the laws and oh you deserved that because its against the law!

A lot of people here appealing to authority. But of course some of you see the anti-freedom reddit is perpetuating and alienating some of their biggest contributors. We were a big reddit contributor.

all I did was pay one person a quarter to post any news on a subreddit I created, as detailed in the link provided (OP)
translation: "i violated the rules of reddit by paying a shill to advertise my donation-soliciting web site, and I got burned"
It was more then one shill that did this. I remember the thread the OP posted and several people had responded to his offer.

This was not a small violation of the rules, but was rather a clear attempt of trying to game the system to get more money

Nope. I'm not making any money.

Only one person posted in there that actually requested the reward. All this over 25 cents worth of bitcoin.

I am not aware that reddit banned so many sites. Why do they do it? People are just posting bitcoin news. I would have thought sites which promote bitcoin are somewhat against censorship.

They got banned because they paid people to post and manipulate the votes.

If they would have read the rules, they would have known this.

did you not read my post above you?

I'm tired of blatant liars.

bitcoin subreddit is usually very open and anti-censorship. it was reddit admins who are less open, more authoritarian.

just trying to help the bitcoin cause and the bit drop project

Just letting you know you are on the radar, even though you are not our primary target.  If we don't find exactly what we are looking for you have a chance -- that's a good thing.

thanks
