Re: Trade with alt ?

Trading small sums in alt coins is better because some of them have small transaction fees. If you are a beginner in trading you'd usually start with a small sum of money and if you'd try to do trading in BTC you'll get eaten by the fees quickly.

Re: Americans jail a 24 year old for selling bitcoins wthout asking for ID

Similarly, is it also a crime for a buyer to purchase Bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies in a similar fashion without providing any ID? Isn't it also possible for the authorities to track via the seller's bank accounts the buyer's transaction details and trace back to the buyer, considering that a Bank to Bank transfer has taken place?

I think it depends on the amount. $20,000 a month or less isn't considered important. But that kid sold $50,000 without asking for ID. He was SELLING bitcoins for cash - in a hypothetical situation a drug dealer would try to turn his cash into bitcoin by purchasing from him.

With stuff like this, stick to the law people. And don't deal with huge amounts, it just triggers flags.

This is a really good point, actually. I was already writing a comment how it was unfair for the guy to end up with such a harsh punishment but he potentially has given the opportunity for $1.5 million to fly under the radar which I think government is actually upset about.

Re: Do We Need Social Media Promotion

As many users have already stated, promotion is a good for any kind of thing as it makes more people interested in it and in case of cryptos makes the price go up. We all saw what happened to BTC in december 2k17, the price almost doubled when social media have picked it up and when the hype went down price went with it.

Always a bad idea to invest what you cannot lose. Bitcoin could be worth $1 tomorrow if every country decided to enforce anti-bitcoin laws. I'd stay way from any investment you cannot earn back in ~2months in your job.

Re: Any idea for poor people?

Personally I think that you can't do anything in this world without a proper education. Making people in poor countries literate is certainly a step in the right direction but the underlying cause of poverty, in my opinion, is the system those people live in. In African countries leaders live in mansions while people starve. If money that is being spent on well-being of minority of "royals" was invested in education or infrastructural development that surely would be a solution for those people. Now speaking about poor people in countries that are well-off, I think that most of them are poor by choice since they haven't used the opportunities that have been presented to them by being too lazy and educating them about cryptos wouldn't achieve anything since they simply wouldn't be interested in it.

Re: which one is best investment: bitcoin or bitcoin cash?

Personally I wouldn't invest in any fork (bitcoin cash, bitcoin gold) just stick with the classic currencies, if bitcoin will go down it'll bring bitcoin cash with it but if bitcoin cash would crash is unlikely to bring bitcoin down, in my opinion.

Re: What's the average amount you invest?

I think the average amount you should invest is the amount you don't mind losing. I'd say invest around 10% of your monthly savings that way you won't lose too much. Just don't mortgage your house and buy btc with all the money because you might end up broke and in massive debt.

Re: Can paying in Bitcoin save tax?

Depends in which country you're living in so you should do your own research. In my country government has set no regulations on cryptocurrencies unless you're cashing it out into fiat. Yet there are VERY few places where you can pay using cryptos so there hasn't been any need for those regulations..
Anyways, if you're going to accept cryptos and not cash them into fiat you're probably not going to get in trouble but if I were you I'd cash-out some amount you have received, pay taxes for that and use remaining money. Then you're less likely to get in governments radar.

Re: Are you sure that bitcoin will fall?
by

I wouldn't say that Bitcoin will fall, I just think it will get surpassed by another cryptocurrency. At the moment it takes about an hour and $10 in fees if you're making payment. Of course it gets faster if you're paying higher fees but that is not going to work for everyday payments in shops and etc.
I think BTC is worth more than other cryptos because it was first of its kind and eventually it will get surpassed by other technologically more advanced crypto. Will BTC retain its value - yes but it won't be the most valuable crypto. Anyways that's just my opinion so take it with the grain of salt.  Smiley
