American Senator from Arizona John McCain has accused Russia of cooperation with the Syrian government in the attack with chemical weapons, killing more than 80 people, including more than ten children.
The Republican Senator said at a press conference in Belgrade that he believes that "the Russians knew about the chemical weapons, because they act with the same base."
"I hope that such behaviour on the part of Syria, what is clearly visible cooperation between Russia and Syria will never happen again," he said.
McCain also warned Syrian President Bashar al-Assad from such actions if he did not renounce the use of prohibited weapons.
"The United States must first remind Russia that this kind of war crime is unacceptable in the modern world", - he stressed.
