Yes, actually the work has never stopped. After publishing the research paper (check http://revolvercoin.org if you haven't seen it yet) that describes and formalizes an approach that we propose, we are now getting back to active development. I am pleased to note that today is the second anniversary of RevolverCoin and it means that for two years the network operates successfully thanks to the community and some effort from the team. Despite the current  bearish market conditions and slower, than many would like development pace, we move forward and believe in the project even more than on the launch day two years ago.

So what can you expect from the team in the nearest future? We say: The Platform.   
Right after we finished work on the simulation project, research paper, a mobile wallet and a brand new logo design we started the research and design of the platform, described in the initial concept. At this moment we have bootstrapped the platform project development and soon the sources will be published on Github, in order for you to take an active part by reviewing, testing and suggesting things. At that point we actually will be ready to expand as an open-source decentralized community project and the platform prototype is going to be the showcase for the support concept.

Hello everyone.
As many of you know Revolver team members were quite busy last couple of months working on the research paper. So what is this all about? Revolvercoin was created as a platform to reward creative community and their supporters. Implementing this as a decentralized system is quite a tough task to say at least. Some time ago we came up with a network-based reward distribution approach. If you haven't already, please take a look at our previous article here https://medium.com/@BarneyHill/decentralized-reward-platform-cae975b6a2d. In the most recent work we formalize the proposed approach and research how it is supposed to work under various network structures using custom simulation model. This is a crucial step before starting to code the platform itself, especially when talking about such security sensitive and inertial systems as blockchains. So far we are satisfied with the results we got, but still have a lot of work ahead of us. In the coming months we will continue our research and development to create a robust system which people will enjoy to use. Hopefully as a community we will achieve the goals declared at the launch of Revolver network.

Unbelievable similarity

The last halving has happened yesterday and the tail emission has kicked in @ 2 XRE/block from now on and here are our thoughts on this.

We think the economics of XRE currency is good and balanced from the very beginning which brought the initial coins  distribution inside the community accordingly. There is no premine, no ICO or any other scammy distribution tricks. You can either mine coins or buy some on an exchange. We have launched some giveaway / bounty campaigns on the platform and gathered a decent amount of resources for small community-funded projects. Those events helped us to support grass roots style community and improve the coin distribution. According to the blockchain whole supply looks to be fairly distributed with the biggest stake concentrated on the exchange meaning the ownership belongs to many people. We believe that tail emission is a fair way to maintain blockchain keeping miners incentivized and allowing newcomers to get freshly minted coins without using an exchange. Also it's worth mentioning that having soft cap emission model suits quite well to a long term goals of the Revolver network.

Right, the final halving and almost a year of experiments! XRE keeps moving forward what ever happened to my rock and roll! 
We are close to do a presentation of a technical paper I'm working on right now. The paper will shed a light on the functional part of the reward concept based on the statistics gathered by our network simulation.

Geni, this is a good question.

The described rules are designed as consensus parameters in the platform core. They will affect all services implemented on top of the platform and they cannot be changed by a specific service.

I still don't have an exact date for simulation results though our plan is to show smth by the end of the month

Decentralized Reward Platform will be built on top of XRE blockchain.

At this moment we are working on a reward platform simulation which is going to put the project into a proof-of-concept stage.

After that step we will focus on blockchain design and development extending functionality of XRE network.

Actually a revolver is used frequently as an expressive symbol of style in music and movies. It is definitely not about the guns and violence. You may refer such cults like Elvis, The Beatles and many others, who used the revolver symbolism. On the other hand, you may consider X11 EVO algo mixer used in XRE works like a revolving cylinder in a revolver

 

You are absolutely right. There are no published tools for the platform for content creators yet, but a lot of work on decentralized rewards has been done and I'm deep in these developments. I'm really looking forward to share the discoveries with the community and it is going to happen soon hopefully

Depends on the amount of participants registered for the campaign. The bank is going to be shared between all participants respectively. According to current collected funds in the bank the calculations are as following: if there are 5 participants and 5 stakes, the participants would receive 10 000  XRE each. However the bank still has not been frozen and it is open for crowdfunding for next few weeks.

In anticipation of the XRE halving event there are a couple of thoughts and updates that I would like to share with you guys.

The second halving is going to happen tomorrow and the reward would be 32 XRE per block. Yay! There are much less coins for market dumps and the price is pretty stable without much promo campaigns. Another very important point is that main total supply is 22 million (there was a typo in the beginning of the discussion, not 29 million as some say). The tail emission is 2 XRE and would secure the network with mining infinitely.

I keep working on the decentralized reward principles on blockchain and I felt being excited about some discovered things and not really about the others. The main thing is there is going to be implemented a specific type of decentralized reward accumulative fund system which is very close to a Proof-of-Stake system. Adding such kind of a system would provide the required functionality and secure the network side by side with configured POW. The downside of the solution would be big efforts that have to be made to accomplish this task. Though the reward system is exactly what XRE project has been started for, isn't it? Anyway RevolverCoin is a long term project with the transparent roadmap and clear goals, so step by step, we're moving forward.
