restarting a QT wallet often fixes things with one that has a known large user base like the
Spectrecoin wallet. Good to hear you got things straightened out.

The Spectrecoin exchanges are not US ....and not the KYC large exchanges that are taking this step at this time.
Livecoin, Crex24, Altilly, also Citex and TXbit are in different parts of the world .
bisq ,of course is decentralized.
Also, an alternative is with the addition of Panda-Bot to the Spectrecoin discord server this past July......it can act as an escrow agent. This saves the hassle of having to round up a trusted third party ie:escrow agent.....which adds time to a transaction.
So all in all, Spectrecoin is in good shape and is also always looking for reliable, secure and dependable exchanges.

Spectrecoin [xspec] has been on bISQ almost two years now......and frankly, it seems smaller cap coins like it and others get little play on the dexes. Personally I thought it would be a boon to the project but, sadly its never been much of a factor.

The boot strap is the way to go especially for those with slower net connections.

For everyones' convenience...here's How to use the Spectrecoin bootstrap

And now you can stake Spectrecoin in other ways....
Members in the Spectrecoin discord can place smaller amounts in their Panda-Bot wallet and move the amount to the bot pool.

And people outside US that use the citex exchange can stake there!  https://citex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360029350012

Re: Will POS become the norm and replace POW forever?
by

At first PoW made sense ....but the combination of energy consumption as it became an arms race of hash power...
and the security vulnerabilities inherent with PoW have brought more attention to PoS.

Spectrecoin took PoS3 a step further recently with the release of "Proof of Anonymous Stake"....Stealth Staking!
Think of it as Bitcoin with complete and total privacy that works anywhere in the world.

Re: Any extremely low market cap privacy coins?

Like RKh says.....Spectrecoin has been here all along....but lacked clear leadership while Mandica was away with health isssues.
Since Mandica, the original project owner/manager returned in March 2018 ....every stated goal has been reached.

The big one .....Stealth Staking [Proof of Anonymous Stake] was privately tested with a select group of community members, then publicly tested in the to be sure it was perfect.
Then, PoAS went live to the main chain May 17,2019.

Users can choose whether to stake xspec, stake spectre or stake any combination of the two....on The Onion Router [TOR] network where it has always run natively.

With the organization and registration of the Spectrecoin Foundation in the UK and a roadmap making new goals for the future you can be confident the stability and development will continue.

Sound like something of interest? Check us out Spectrecoin "Your Privacy at Stake"

Re: Best privacy coin?
by

ummm...there is "no option" to run on the TOR network like some others
.....is part of the client...as is oBFS4 ability if the client needs it to connect to its nodes.
Being PoS3 and "option" PoASs ...how would someone buy enough coins to run a 51%? that scenario is very remote with any PoS3 coin.
Maybe take your comments elsewhere and quit attacking Spectrecoin.

Re: Best Coins under $50 Million Market Cap?
by
Beachguy2
on 24/06/2019, 13:30:41 UTC
Spectrecoin [xspec] has everything in place now after several years of work....stealth staking released in V3 back in May completed the teams goal for now. Mobile is next!
And at a 13 million market cap with unique tech, a strong community and now being a UK Company ....it's value is destined to rise.

@GlobalProtection - You make point after point ....all valid!
There is simply NO REASON for Spectrecoin's value to be 0.01% of Bitcoin's current value.
The project is taking this to the streets!

After the recent accomplishments....The Spectrecoin Foundation , it's Team Members and the entire Spectrecoin Community has come together to bring the Stealth Staking [PoAS] message to The Cryptocurrency Investing Network "...... one of the largest and fastest growing community of blockchain and crypto enthusiasts on the internet.”

This is a first for Spectrecoin to engage marketing on this scale and we're all very excited about reaching the network's 2,000,000 members and introducing them to the benefits of Trustless Stealth Staking.

Have you looked at our new website lately?

Since LiveCoin has opened Spectrecoin [xspec] up for withdrawals a few days ago....
community users report no problems.
And in fact trading and order books are active.
No idea what the problem was since Mandica's contact with the right person
resulted in an almost instant response.
Thank you LiveCoin.....please do better for our upcoming V3.x fork in May

why the constant stream of new coins/tokens while leaving other projects in the dust?
I invite others to scroll down the list of coins and there are larger projects than ours that have  been "in maintenance" for many weeks/months.
In spite of the claims of being customer oriented I assure you they are not.
Avoid this place at all costs....if you already have holdings there....cash out.

I don't usually recommend exchanges.....but anyone that hasn't joined Amsterdex and done a little trading and gotten a feel for how fast and stable it is ....is really missing the boat. As a bonus......for a privacy coin like Spectrecoin....its a great exchange since there is no KYC requirement.
Good selection of trading pairs as well.

On support tickets all you get is a "canned" answer not anything that really answers the question.
Spectrecoin went into maintenance before the Cryptopia hack occurred .....response has always been  "we'll get to it and will be announced in news".......then deposits reopened a few weeks back.
We're still waiting for withdrawals to open.
Repeatedly .....LiveCoin has been asked if the devs can be of help and this was not even given the courtesy of a response.
Yet every week you see new listings and additional markets for current listings.

We get it guys.....LiveCoin is not interested in Spectrecoin and several others still in full maintenance.....including Monero.
Hell of a way to run a railroad.  Roll Eyes

    -->   SPECTRECOIN: EXCHANGES  (Updated List):

To clarify the above posting

Amsterdex:          https://amsterdex.com/exchange?market=xspec - added earlier this month, highly recommended, not a dex but NO KYC since fiat trading pairs aren't offered.

CREX24:              https://crex24.com/exchange/XSPEC-BTC  - Spectrecoin's newest exchange and trading well

Trade Satoshi:     https://tradesatoshi.com/Exchange?market=XSPEC_BTC

BISQ:                   https://market.bitsquare.io/?market=xspec_btc    - One of the oldest dexs with Spectrecoin listed for well over a year

Novaexchange:   https://novaexchange.com/market/BTC_XSPEC/

Livecoin:              https://www.livecoin.net/ - still in maintenance but recently began allowing deposits but no withdrawals

Binance *  pending but no assurance of listing

Poloniex *   pending but no assurance of listing

* Spectrecoin have submitted a full application for a listing on Binance and Poloniex.

The team has had long time standing applications on the above as well as other popular exchanges but, is not inclined to pay high fees for a listing which is harmful to the project. Trading is active however on the above exchanges with Amsterdex and Crex24 being safe and secure exchanges to trade.

As many learned from the recent Cryptopia  hack....never keep more coins on any exchange than you can afford to lose access to temporarily (best case) or lose completely (worst case)
