Re: Is www.antminers.com.au a Legit Site?

Hi,

Just wanted to ask if anyway has used www.antminers9.com.au yet?

They sound a little dodgey.

Thanks in Advance. Roll Eyes

Yes, I got my delivery last week and I am very happy with the units and warranty certificates. However, you can't say they are fake because they are using the numerical number in their domain name! I mean seriously guys? for booking a .com.au domain you need to provide business registration to your domain providers only then you will be able to register a (.com.au) domain.

Says the Newbie that registered today and placed his first message.

Sounds legit to me.

Fuck me.  Shocked. What did they achieve by delaying, cancelling, withholding etc? They made no money from you. And now they made no sale. Thanks for the heads up OP.

Re: Comprehensive ASIC Miner Comparison Table

Hi Everyone.

I have attempted to put together a comprehensive comparison chart of all ASIC miners that are available on the market today (as of January, 2018). Some things to keep in mind:

   1) The chart is sorted by algorithm, then by miner efficiency
   2) I have calculated the efficiency a bit differently than all the vendors, choosing instead to divide the hashpower by the electrical power instead of the other way around. This way a larger value means a more efficient miner
   3) This chart includes all the devices I was personally able to identify. If there are other miners you think should be there but aren't please let me know
   4) I have this chart as an excel sheet but was not sure how to best imbed an excel sheet, so I am sharing it as an image for now. If you all find this useful I may transfer it to a google spreadsheet document.

Comments/suggestions are welcome.

I couldn't make the image show in the post, so here's the link.

lol the price on the Baikal giant b isn't correct, from Baikal there 3,600 dollars usd before shipping

True but minimum order is 6 making initial investment over $20K. I know it just adds confusion but I guess the price in the table reflects the cost of an individual trying to buying it via the only means possible of buying a single unit - being on ebay. And $15K is the price they are there.

Lot of work done there sir. Thank you so very much. It's very helpful.  Smiley

I'm experiencing the same confusion whenever I look up similar (but smaller) tables online - in that there is a mixture of differing rates.

In your table, I can see GH/J & MH/J in the efficiency one column which makes just looking down the efficiency column confusing.

In the Hashrate column, there is GH/s & MH/s & TH/s - again a little confusing.

You have organised the column by vender. Personally, I would have organised it by the best efficiency, so viewers can immediately see the best at the top.

A column that calculates Hash per $ might be useful as well. To see what gets the most bang for the buck.

Maybe the Efficiency calculation can be taken a step further and build in the unit cost to give a single figure comparison?

Thanks again.

Its very hard to find trust in Crypto. I for one was caught out with Asiacoin and MintPal back in 2014 and it dissuaded me from trusting the scene completely. Bitcointalk was a very valuable source of help back then and happily this hasn't changed in 3 years. I value the skeptics and the naysayers as their position comes from good and bad experience.

One thing I can say for sure, is that to make profit, you will have take some risk. Mitigating that risk as much is possible is all that can be done. And all I see in this thread is people trying to placate their conscious.

I value the risk that Nemo is taking to bring this mining team together to maximise their investment. Some of us really do deserve a chance.

Not sure. I am looking into it but it hinges on the algorithms being profitable. they can turn in a dime I think and you could be working for months to return an investment.

Architect here. What humidity level are you talking about - percentage wise.

The humidity level in IT rooms can range between 45 to 85%. This is ok. But ideally 40 to 50% should be the range to aim for. The problems normally arise when there is a rapid temperature drop. For example if temperature is hot and humidity is high and the temperature quickly falls, then moisture can drop out of the air and appear on hardware.

The question that might need to be asked is where the humidity is coming from. Miners don't sweat. I hope you don't have many people in the room. I suspect its outside air. Is the outside air being dumped into the farm unconditioned?

If the mechanical design for the farm is correctly designed then the HVAC would have an integrated dehumidifier.

If I could get access to your shitty coin, I would dump it. But as the crappy code that runs it seems way too hard for the skilled dev to get running again, I'm forced to carry it around like fucking herpes.

It's been over two weeks since it went down. Are we ever going to see it up and running again.

Cryptsy just said in their trollbox that they likely 'won't host AC2.'

Wanna bet? When ACV2 hits 200-250BTC a day trading volume they will at it in a hartbeat

First let AC become stable again, users gain new coins, more marketing, lowered POS to 1-10%, and other essentials b4 hitting. I mean seriously their more necessary. A coins use adds its value.

It's alright if they're not interested, MintPal will be on it like a rash.

So it turns out a forensic look into the code of various other coins has revealed more damn scamming.

How can anyone trust cryptocurrency or exchanges like Mintpal again when the industry is rife with crooks.

See here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=595056.0

Why on earth attacking mintpal? If you are buying, it s at your own risk. The code is open source. They don t have to check anything. They take responsability for their exchange that s all. But if you want to buy a coin, that s on you. They are not at fault here.

Stop looking for someone to take the blame. You are only to blame. You!

FFS, people don t take responsability anymore.
Next time, you buy a coin, put a bounty together and ask someone with good reputation to review the code. In fact, it is as necessary as escrows.

So you are saying MintPal have no duty whatsoever to review the legitimacy of their wares? Does a Sunday marketplace care if a kiddie porn seller sets up a stall? Does Ebay care if someone tries to sell Marijuana? Does a Car salesman care if his product crashes immediately after purchase and kills all occupants?  I think MintPal has a contractual connection between us and the AC dev and as the AC dev is conspicuous in their absence, a court of law would acknowledge that MintPal has a duty of care to ensure their customers are not getting swindled.

Might I remind you that AC hasn't just dropped in price. It has disappeared from existence.

MintPal are the contractual link. Their operations must be fair and reasonable. Letting AC drop as far as they did over such a long timespan strongly suggests criminal collaboration.

MintPal tell me they removed AC as soon as they were made aware of the hidden block. It's amazing how the price had to drop to the centre of the earth before anything was done. Sounds dodgey to me.

MintPal also claim they have no duty to audit the code associated with coins. Perhaps they should. Perhaps more should be expected from such places.

MintPal go on to claim there has never been any reason to mistrust AsiaCoin up until last night, although this thread does suggest otherwise. And this thread was the first thing that MintPal directed me to when I raised my issues.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you MintPal, the friendly exchange that are here to help. Help themselves to all your hard earned money. Fuck you MintPal. Fuck you cryptocurrency.
