Re: Bitcoin still number 1
by
Bellerophon1990

Bitcoin remains the undisputed leader in the crypto space because it is the most decentralized, secure, and widely recognized digital asset. As the first cryptocurrency, it established the foundation for blockchain technology and has consistently maintained the highest market capitalization, liquidity, and global adoption. Unlike many newer tokens that rely on centralized teams or evolving narratives, Bitcoin’s fixed supply, transparent monetary policy, and resistance to censorship make it a trusted store of value—often referred to as "digital gold." Its robust network effects, institutional interest, and integration into financial infrastructure continue to reinforce its dominance in a rapidly evolving industry.

Re: Should I depend solely on Bitcoin?
by

That applies if you have enough money to invest, but if you're aiming for higher returns, then high-risk investments are the way to go. Some investors still choose to diversify, but they do it within the market itself , for example, they might put 50% of their portfolio in bitcoin (less risky asset), and then spread the rest across different altcoins (high-risk assets).

I don't know what to call a 50% allocation to bitcoin and 50% to altcoins, but I don't think it's diversification. As I understand it, the main goal of diversification is to reduce risk but allocating all capital to crypto doesn't seem to help us reduce risk. Because the whole market is completely dependent on bitcoin, so how can investing in altcoins be called diversification?

Diversification is only true when we invest in unrelated assets/investments like stocks, cryptocurrencies, gold, real estate...

Definitely, I agree with you. Notwithstanding anyone's projections on Bitcoin and other cryptos, it is always advisable to have some sort of diversification...

I genuinely believe this will create long-term upward pressure on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. That said, it's still unclear how asset managers will respond. Many have historically expressed skepticism—Warren Buffett being a notable example. It remains to be seen whether pension funds and retirement accounts will eventually join the movement.

Re: How do i cash out old bitcoin legally without getting destroyed by taxes?
by

The IRS has increasingly focused its attention on cryptocurrency transactions in recent years. For federal tax purposes, cryptocurrencies are classified as intangible assets, and as such, are subject to capital gains tax rules. Realistically, there is little room for avoiding taxation through loopholes or non-reporting.

While the current administration has shown greater openness toward the crypto sector—and may eventually propose tax incentives or regulatory reforms—such measures remain speculative for now. Investors should proceed with caution and ensure full compliance under existing rules.

(1). You don't have to hold Bitcoin forever, it is still a form of money, plan on spending it someday, you don't have infinite life.

(2). Don't go extra miles working yourself to death to accumulate BTC, BTC will remain but your health will degrade.

(3). It is not a must to leave BTC for your offsprings, you have learned alot, the knowledge you've acquired is enough to be passed unto them.

(4). BTC have a bright future, but we don't know if it will retain the shining light after several years have pass.

(5). All what you worked for (BTC accumulated) can still go to waste even if you leave your private key for your family, what took you years to gathered can be squandered in a month.

(6). BTC miners plays a major role in the life of BTC, value and security wise.

(7). No crypto exchange is more BTC friendly than your private non-custodial open source wallet.

Your points are valid, but I have one question.
1.Who says that we are going to HODL our BTC "forever"? There's no point of holding any financial asset forever.
2.Working yourself "to death" in order to accumulate any financial asset is just plain stupid.
3.I agree with this one. Your kids aren't entitled to your wealth. They must learn how to make their own money and grow their own wealth.
4.In the modern world, new technologies appear every week. BTC must constantly improve, in order to keep its position as the number one cryptocurrency.
5.I agree that there's always a risk of losing everything. Money and wealth just comes and goes. We have to keep fighting and never give up.
The remaining two bullet points are just common sense.

1). I've read many times on this forum about how people are planing to retire in their 30s and 40s with enough BTC in holdings, every rich men leave behind a lot of money because they can't see the future, death just come knocking unexpectedly you know.

To retire in BTC means you will have BTC in holding the same way you have Money in the bank until your last breath, isn't it?

2). That's even if they noticed it, many people are working tirelessly because they have a goal, they decide to give zero attention to their body, many people don't just fa sick out of nowhere, our bodies do give us signs but some people choose to ignore.

4). BTC don't need to improve to keep retaining it's first place, unless a threat is looming like those quantum computers, what BTC did perfectly is been fully decentralised, many projects today aren't completely decentralised like they claim, BTC is just different.

I personally agree with you on almost everything. Sometimes I have the impression that some people believe that BTC is something like God... Come on, it is just a financial investment: a very good one, but still a financial asset.

Re: Trump's Tariffs Are BAD for Bitcoin
by

I think that it's true. Trade wars will impair the ability of Bitcoin and other cryptos to become the world's digital currency. If international transactions decrease in size and numbers, then there is less need for an international currency. Bitcoin was built in the old days of fierce globalization. Trade wars and protectionism will only have the effect to provide strength to traditional fiat currencies.

This is a good question. I personally have never tried to but a house using Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, but, honestly, I would be really surprised if that is possible, given all the headaches that our government is imposing on us! I was planning to buy some real property abroad using Bitcoin or Ether. I will keep you posted if I manage to arrange for a crypto transaction!

This is a topic which is extremely interesting!

Re: Can Bitcoin surpass Gold?
by
Bellerophon1990
on 25/03/2025, 09:41:58 UTC
I really think that Bitcoin has the potential to outclass gold as a global currency standard. The main reason is that gold is becoming way too expensive in terms of storage and shipping. Furthermore, if you plan to use gold in global transactions, you have to undergo burdensome customs procedures, that do not apply to Bitcoin or other cryptos.

I really think that today most of the people just hoard Bitcoin with the hope to get a gain. Investment is the main driving force behind any cryptocurrency right now. But that doesn't exclude that, in the future, we will se some more international transactions occurring in digital currency. It is usually cheaper and faster than any traditional SWIFT wire transfer.

Re: Bolivia approves the use of crypto as payment for fuel trade.

The fact that we can use Bitcoin in Bolivia to pay for fuel is not indicative of a global trend, in my opinion.

Inflation and uncertainty about the value of national currency are major sources of distrust in Latin America, and people would be happier to accept anything (US $ or other reliable foreign currencies alike) but their own national currency.

We'll see how this whole thing unravel in the rest of the world.

Re: Who says bitcoin has no future
by

Bitcoin has been around for well over a decade now, yet discussions about its future—and that of the broader crypto industry—are still very much alive. Some still question whether Bitcoin will ever replace traditional finance, while others argue it has already cemented its place as a valuable asset class.

What’s interesting is that, despite all the skepticism and regulatory challenges, the crypto industry has continued to boom. We've seen major institutions adopting Bitcoin, new blockchain innovations emerging, and an ever-growing ecosystem of DeFi, NFTs, and tokenization projects. Even during market downturns, the industry shows resilience and keeps evolving.

by

I do not see much positive in this news. Banks will do the trading, they will use their citizens money to do that. Everything will be controlled at bank's end. Government will get taxes out of every trade and then on the total income. Nothing positive except some liquidity flow into the market.

I hope Russia opens up their market for cryptocurrency. That will be a real change and a positive one. If banking controls everything related to crypto for the big-pocket investors, then it's not a real change!
If they succeed with this, then that will probably be their next plan.

As for who controls the trading, it doesn’t really matter since it’s still regulated by the government. The fact that it’s trading in rubles as a crypto pair clearly shows that this is meant to ensure monitoring and control over the trade.

If this works out, they might finally move forward with launching their CBDC, which has been pending for a while now.

Russia is definitely a key player in the crypto market, but all eyes are still on the U.S. president. Whatever moves they make could set the tone for what comes next globally

Re: Why's bitcoin not legalized in some countries?
by
Bellerophon1990
on 09/03/2025, 11:21:52 UTC
There are several reasons for governmental actions against Bitcoin in some countries. I really believe that some governments around the world fear losing their monopoly on currency and that they will be unable to oversee financial transactions as they wish to do. Even in some Western countries, where it is prohibited under their Constitution to place an outright ban on cryptos, governments have tried to implement restrictive policies aimed at dissuading their citizens from dealing with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

For instance, earlier this year, our government in Italy tried to impose a special tax on bitcoin trading as high as 40% (flat). Under that tax, you had a clear disincentive from investing in cryptocurrencies since you would be taxed twice as much as regular securities trading. Fortunately, the government backtracked from that legislative measure, But the attitude towards cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin is not very positive.

BADCOGAMING.COM - WILD CASINO REVIEW - CRYPTO CASINO WITH A $ 9.000 CASINO BONUS
by
Bellerophon1990
on 15/10/2020, 23:21:05 UTC
Hi folks,

Hope you are well and healthy during these coronavirus times.

We are writing just to let you know that we have just added Wild Casino to our list of the best crypto casinos. This is a new online casino brand that was launched by people who know what actually crypto gambling is. Wild Casino belongs to the Betonline gambling group and Betonline itself has an outstanding track record in terms of fair and honest treatment for its bettors and gamblers at large. You can rest assured of one thing: customer service replies on time and you will not see your casino account frozen with no apparent explanation at all (or just because you made some money).

On top of the honesty of Wild Casino, it is worth mentioning the fact that crypto players enjoy an amusing (and unbeatable) casino bonus that can reach up to $ 9.000 and that works as follows:

1) If you deposit crypto coins (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, etc.) your initial deposit may increase by 300% (up to $ 3.000)

2) Your next 4 crypto deposits may increase by 150% (up to $ 1.500 each)

The sum yields a grand total of $ 9.000, which is something hard to see in any other crypto casino.

Get acquainted with Wild Casino and read our Wild Casino review at the following link to know more about this great crypto casino:

Good luck and stay safe and healthy from BadCoGaming.com !

Hi Cratoon!
Actually, I meant that it works on pcs, laptops and tablets.
The tools does not work properly if you are using a smartphone. We are working hard on this and hope to fix the bug very soon!
But no installation / download is required!
Apologies for any misunderstanding.

We have been working hard to bring to your desktop the best odds from primary crypto sportsbooks. What we have done is to create a desktop-optimized widget that allows for soccer odds comparison, MMA / UFC odds comparison, and League of Legends odds comparison.

Thanks to that tool, you can instantly and with no charge compare only the best money lines coming from great crypto bookmakers (MyBookie, Betonline, Bookmaker) and from other great traditional oddsmakers (like William Hill and Nordic Bet). The rationale behind this project is to demonstrate that crypto sportsbooks can offer, on average, better conditions to their bettors when it comes to sports betting. Are we right? You can immediately find out on our reliable betting odds comparison tool at the following links:

For MMA / UFC odds comparison and League of Legends odds comparison:

www.badcogaming.com/mixed-martial-arts-odds

For soccer / football odds comparison:

www.badcogaming.com/soccer-odds

Please note that the widgets above are only optimized for the desktop version of the website (do not work on mobile).

Thanks for your attention everybody and have a great day!

Why do we have to install it on the desktop instead of using in browser?  Huh
