If you believe in Bitcoin, then buy now in the dip. It's what, still up 400% year to date. Show me another investment like that. Ride out the storm.

Re: what do you thınk about DNT COIN?
by

I just looked into this coin and seems like a very interesting platform/product. I wonder how it will work if DNT appreciates in value and then it is costly to vote and invest in projects. But maybe if it does appreciate you can just contribute a fractional amount. It seems like a crowd funded blockchain project where different ideas can be invested in. Seems like it has potential to me.

Re: [ANN] | PARAGON | Revolutionizing the Cannabis Industry |

I don't understand, why does the cannabis industry need blockchain? In the US, legalization of marijuana is not an issue of records and verification but of stigma and that marijuana is currently labeled a Schedule I Controlled Substance. There are states that have legalized marijuana, but it is still illegal federally, can't open a business bank account due to AML laws. In the states that have legalized it, they sell marijuana, today, without blockvhain.

what information is it you believe is missing?  did you read the section on POS/baking/staking/bond/ etc?  not sure what really you expect here, im not inventing a new crypto or ecosystem, im fitting in a service into a new one, and if you cannot make heads nor tails of the diagram or my definitions, then not sure what to tell you.  do you think i should release source code of my accounting subsystem or UML or what???

sorry to disappoint.  you'll definitely want to bond your own however, or your stash will lose value.
no worries, mate, I didn't tell your idea isn't viable, it might be legit. You've just stated "See website https://www.tezzigator.com for more info and whitepaper" but I visited https://www.tezzigator.com and couldn't find any. Please show me the whitepaper.
I couldn't find a white paper either, just the below text which is far from a white paper.
"Architecture: There will be resilient/redundant baking nodes in two different continents, in an Active/Standby mode, each communicating with each other via a proprietary high-availability protocol. There will be full SSL communications, and CloudFlare will also be implemented."

People looking to invest, proceed with caution, do some due diligence.

I don't care it's a scam or not, it returns me money for free. Why should I refuse free money ?
What about honesty and integrity? The ones behind Deeponion stand to make money off of other people without providing a real good or service. The coin will be pumped and dumped. Yes, you and others might make money, but those uninformed that jump in and buy when it rises and then loose everything when it falls, is kind of crappy. Also brings a bad reputation to crypto. Also, it invites greater regulation as self regulation breaks down. Then local governments will want to come and protect consumers.

None. Maybe Byteball. All others seem valueless. Deep onion is not an airdrop and seems like a scam.

It looks like the airdrop will be such a little quantity of OMG that it is cheaper in terms of time/efforts to just buy some in an Exchange Smiley)
I always wonder about this with airdrop and faucets, is it just easier and cheaper to go out and buy it?

Re: Why You Should Never Sell Your Bitcoins Ever
by

I guess it depends on what your goals are. If you want to invest your money, then buy and hold is a good idea. If you want to trade then actively buying and selling is a good idea. If you want to actually use bitcoin, then transacting with it (selling) is a good idea. Everyone has their own reason.

Re: Why some people prefer Bitcoin over fiat ?
by

You don't have to exchange currency with bitcoin. If I have 1 BTC and send it to you, you now have 1 BTC. We didn't have to go through an intermediary and didn't have to exchange GBP for JPY. It is also not tied to any government and is free from political risk, or central bank policies. There is a limited supply vs. fiat where a treasury department could just print more money.

WCX Exchange Looks Like a Scam
by
BenjaminPeacock
on 21/08/2017, 05:18:44 UTC
eFrom the information I have seen about WCX Exchange, it looks like a scam. https://wcex.co/?lang=en There is a link to their whitepaper, however there is no whitepaper. Also, why does an exchange need a token/coin? I don't see Coinbase, or Kraken or other exchanges offering coins.

Do not be duped into thinking that there is a free lunch. They are not looking to help you, but only to line their own pockets. They say they have a team, who are they? How are they going to make their exchange better, what is the technology behind it? No answers.

Invest diligently, not looking to turn a buck, be careful, this looks, smells and feels like a scam. Further, their forum is self moderated and does not allow comments at this time...

Re: Theymos's list of altcoins with some technical merit
by

I like this list and have been looking into the technologies behind these other coins as well. I also have on my radar, Byteball, Dash, PIVX and Waves. I believe PIVX is a fork of Dash and Byteball and IOTA are similar in their approach of the "tangle."

What interests me is the solutions that these technologies will need to come up with in order to be decentralized, private, have fast transaction speeds, etc. I believe Ethereum is looking into an off chain solution, the Raiden network to speed up transaction times.

Walks like a duck, looks like a duck, quacks like a duck. This is a scam. I see people that want their "airdrop" coins say, who cares if it goes bust. But, I think if you believe in crypto and what Bitcoin is about, then everyone should care as these types of manipulative schemes bring a bad name to all of crypto and do not promote and further its purpose. Bitcoin and crypto is still a new space and there is a lot of misconceptions about it from those not familiar; so these types of scams only hurt the space. My two cents, which is 0.00000489715 BTC.

Re: Looks like another crash is coming!!
by

There is a difference between a crash and a correction, and it looks like Bitcoin is heading for a correction when people take some of their profits. A Goldman Sachs technical analyst said last week that Bitcoin is heading for a possible fith wave where it could reach around $4,800 before it could sell off to $2,200. The market is very volatile and price swings are part of it.

Over the Counter (OTC) Market Available?
by
BenjaminPeacock
on 20/08/2017, 18:34:29 UTC
I tried searching the boards for information regarding an over the counter (OTC) market and couldn't find anything. In the financial sector, dealers and investment managers can buy securities and derivatives over the counter, via phone, messaging and through Bloomberg. Is there something similar for Bitcoin? Does it go by a different name, Peer to peer or something? Thanks!
