Before I leave, check out Hirocoin you guys that are going to bed and aren't sure what to mine.

Price has been rising and difficulty is still low, also it's x11 (think darkcoin algo) so your gpu's will run smooth and cool as the wind)

Here is a link to one of the biggest exchanges but feel free to use others too: https://hiro.suprnova.cc/index.php

I was mining it  while waiting for relaunch

Did anyone experienced any similar issue with this pool recently?

No, HW is 0 on both GPUs.

SHould I only be getting 160k on 290s?

180Kh/s seems to be concensus MAX on R9 290 ... I am currently getting only 72kh/s and have tried over and over I don't know what I am missing !!!

I would kill to get 160kh/s..

Can you please post all of your configurations .. ( your config file and line arguments at launch if you have any)

Hoe many cards you have in your rig and what brand ?

Thanks

I'm getting about 140kH/s per card, config is 2 x MSI R9 290, 4Gb RAM, on the following settings:

 -w 64 -g 1 -I 18 --thread-concurrency 42000 --no-submit-stale --lookup-gap 3 --expiry 10 --scan-time 1 --queue 0

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

gpu engine 1000, mem clock 1500, powertune 20, set in afterburner

Re: ★█[IMPORTANT] WE Must stop the New Crapcoins! MAKE crypto better! VOTE █★

Crap coins are needed, they do help spreading the hashing power around, keeping "good" coins  profitable to mine.

It's true that it takes the investors BTCs too, but that will stop soon, the price of the most new altcoins are falling like stone now, burned up investors will think twice before jumping the ship next time.

What's need is some of sort of criteria to classify the coins. Thinks like: technical innovation, developers activity, size of community, merchants adoption, market cap and so on, should be counted into some sort of index. None can't stop crap coming, but an "crap coin indicator" like that would make a difference. Devs of the coin will have to work hard to make it look better, just a "good coin name" won't be enough anymore.

Re: All Sapphire 7950s (11196-19-20G) are not suitable for mining?
by

on 05/03/2014, 23:02:42 UTC
Yes, can confirm this too, Sapphire 7950 Dual-X aren't suitable for mining.
Had 8 cards of this type of which 7 died within weeks, one after another. Bought them new from pixmania.co.uk, about £150 per card, ... was thinking that it's a bargain but it was a total waste of money and time.

The last one still works (after about 2 months of usage) but isn't stable anymore and I'm afraid that it may die soon as well. Serial numbers of the cards were  A13500003XXXX.

The way they fail is:  PC shut down randomly  then at one point it doesn't start anymore, the screens goes black after windows start up logo. Some cards fail with sparks, one actually burned out filling the room with smoke, that was really scary, thanks God I was nearby to switch it off.

BTW: don't overclock them at all (use default settings only) and don't use more than 1 card of that type per miner, that appears to save them for a longer period of time, but it's still not guaranteed.

I'm trying to avoid all Sapphire GPUs were possible after this experience.

Hey guys, as some of you already know, my wife and I are having a baby. The time has finally come so I will be at the hospital for a few days.  I will have a laptop with wifi and will check in periodically to make sure the pool is running smoothly.

Since I won't have much time to promote the pool or interact with the community while I am at the hospital, please enjoy 0% fees until I get back.  Grin

Congratulations and good luck!

I bet you won't have time for cryptos for at least several months from now, if not more ... Wink

Thanks again for the nice pool and 0 fees!

Re: [ANN][THOR] THORCOIN- ASIC RESISTANT, NFACTOR- Newly Launched
by
BernoulliS
on 26/02/2014, 23:15:06 UTC
Hey all. I am running 4x Sapphire Toxic 280x's. I am currently getting 2.388 Mh/s from them each, low temps. Should I be getting more? Config to follow:
--scrypt --Nfmin 4 --Nfmax 30 --StartT 1393167677 -I 20 --thread-concurrency 8192 -g 2 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-memclock 1800,1800,1800,1800 --gpu-engine 1180,1180,1180,1180 --expiry 1 --scan-time 1 --queue 0 --gpu-powertune 20,20,20,20

I tried I=13, 15, 18, 20, all of them. I have tried changing TC from 8192, to 11200, and a couple others. Also tried Mem clock from 1500-1800, changing it slightly each time, and finally gpu engine at 1050, 1070, 1080, 1150, 1160, 1200, 1220, 1230, etc.

I see people saying a lot more, but am I just seeing this due to the N-factor going up? Or should I change settings?

yes, it's quite low. I'm getting about 6 Mh/s per 280X card.

try these settings:

cgminer.exe --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1393167677  -I 13 --thread-concurrency 8193 -g 2 -w 256

engine clock is 1100,  memory 1500, both  set in Afterburner, ... but there is some space for improvement here

I'm using the  scrypt-jane miner from https://sites.google.com/site/rmdavidson/  btw

damn, the site was down and I've got scared by these scam accusations here  Shocked, so requested a withdrawn of all my funds from poloniex (the site is up now btw)

And it has been transferred w/o problems.  False alarm.

Will send them back now, as they are needed for trading. I like the exchange btw, when it's up of course. But the Balances page can be improved, not very convenient atm.

What does "numerous strategies" mean, and what benefits do they have over a single big bump?

I guess it means that the dev will place an order at 0.XX and then will buy his own order back  Smiley

I see that premined coins are in favour now, AUR with 50% premine goes up in difficulty & price, this one 100% premine had a 37 BTC market. Crazy

Will a GPU ever work on this coin? I am very interested in it.
Yes, it is scrypt-jane algorithm with Nfactor 14. Be careful to choose your cgminer.

How to mine this?

I tried various scrypt-jane cgminers on it (the ones for CACH, ULtracoin, the ZZMiner published on 115.28.143.200) but none seems to work, most of them either fail or shows HW errors only

Yes, I can't see it too. Had a DNS error showing in the morning, now it's just a blank page.

Where is the owner, is there any chance to take the coins out of it?

To be honest, I made a "record daily profit" on maxcoin with my mining rig on the second day there.

But the launch wasn't well prepared (if not unfair), that's why I'll be mining this one too  Roll Eyes

Re: [ANN][HBC] Hobbitcoin NOW TRADING ON freshmarket.co.in
by
BernoulliS
on 11/02/2014, 14:07:37 UTC
There are 2 options here:

a. this coin is dead from the start (in less than 2 weeks)
b. because the coin has no premine (or has it), developers are quietly mining it before a "relaunch".

Hobbitcoin is a good name for a coin, and may succeed with the fans of "Middle Earth", but I wouldn't invest more than 1 day of hashing power on it.

At the current 0.4  difficulty, if to rent 10 MHs of scrypt rigs you can get about 3-4 millions of it in a day (if not more), that would cost about 0.15 BTC for the rent.

But, Is it worth it?

ypool is working fine but I think that they are seriously cheating here.
Found 6th block just now  (got 1/10 of that overall) ... need to go solo.

I'm mining on ypool at the moment. Found 5 blocks during 3 hours, but got only about 50 MAX overall...  it's not correct statistically.

Is there a way to mine this solo on GPUs?

This is causing the problem  I imagine. Can anyone modify the client assuming they are following the same code sha checks. I wouldn't know where to start

Were did you find the sources of the miner btw?  Can we have a look?
