You need to tell us specifically what the hint (nevada) means. Does it mean that "nevada" is part of the password? Does it make you think of some person, scene, or any special experience in your life? If you are the owner of the wallet.dat file, you should be able to tell such information easily.

What is the current cost of Bitcoin mining equipment in 2024? I want to start mining Bitcoin, but before making a decision, I want to understand the cost of the equipment. Which models of ASIC miners are currently the most popular and efficient? How much do new and used devices cost? Does it make sense to get video cards for mining, or is ASIC the only option? I am also interested in the total cost: power supplies, cooling systems, additional equipment. Are there any budget options for a beginner? I would be grateful for specific prices, advice and personal experience! Huh

I hear that electricity is very cheap (as low as 0.03 USD per KW) in some countries like Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. If you are in these countries, the reward of mining should be OK.

Bitcoin Core v0.21.1  has no problem for solo miner. mining cmd: getblocktemplate and submitblock got no changed and work well.

cgminer 4.11.1 need to fix it to work on gbt_solo mode. The cgminer got three work modes: has_stratum, has_gbt and gbt_solo.
I found it is very hard to run c code when segment faults often pump out. You have to work out yourself as solo users.

And by the way, I am just using my desktop computer for lotto solo mining. No other dedicated device!

The latest error message is: No servers could be used. Exiting.

(oh my goodness! I am still solo mining. Do i still need a server! ?)

I read from a reddit post that Virtualbox can be installed to create a stratum server. Did you use Virtualbox?

Everything you are attempting here is plain wrong.

Forget mining BTC with a PC, those days are over and have been for a decade.

If you want to get into solo mining of bitcoin then go and buy an entry level ASIC miner, there's litterally no other entry point for mining bitcoin these days.

There's plenty of devices to choose from Gekko Science Compac A1, Compac F etc or one of the many BitAxe devices.

Mining solo with anything less than 1TH/s is a waste of time and even at that level you'll be rolling the dice with really long odds.

Do a bit more research before you commit to such ventures.

If all you're interested in doing is burning money then sure waste your time setting up a PC with a high end GPU and maybe achieve 1-2 GH/s if you're lucky.

PC's might be suitable for Altcoin mining but forget it for BTC.

Thanks for your kind advice! And all other guys. thanks to you too!

Using just a PC or even PC w/GPU is beyond useless and an absolute waste of power.... ref https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2415854.0 point-3

And as regards to the algo used for mining, are there conflicts between Scrypt and sha256d? (I )
When running on the same PC at the same time that you would be attempting to mine BTC with - that does not even deserve an answer.... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes For either algo the PC MUST be doing just that 1 thing or you are just jerking off in a fantasy.

So frustrating answer! But thanks1

Here's how I am doing it.

BFGMiner is able to mine against 0.21.0 but CGMiner is not.  However, BFGMiner is not compatible with Newpac sticks (not 2pac or compac those work).

So I run bfgminer as a proxy only, then connect my cgminer to bfgminer.

Hi,

I have an idle win10X64 desktop computer and would like to try "lotto-like" solo mining. Smiley

I have tried BFGMiner (version 5.4.2) + Bitcoin core 0.21.0 but there are always errors. Do i need OpenCL SDK for the solo mining to start? Which version of BFGMiner did you use?

Which files should i configure for BFGMiner as well as the bitcoin core wallet except the conf files?

And as regards to the algo used for mining, are there conflicts between Scrypt and sha256d? (I )

And where and how to configure the GBT (getblocktemplate) command if necessary?

Could you write out your detail configuration for successful running?

Thanks a lot in advance!
