We are going to be adding the last of the https://betterbets.io site upgrades for V2 this month. Here is what will be improved:
1. Improved site speeds and enhanced performance while betting.
2. Websockets, websockets, and more websockets as we shift from ajax all players new and old should notice a nice difference.
3. Chat will also be switched to websockets, thus improved.
4. Addition of a much requested game after the other upgrades are finished.

The new V2 is awesome, really good job. Betting is way faster than before.
Just some minor chat bugs still to be fixed ( symbols like ' result in weird things lol) but nothing serious.

Betterbets V2 (2017-01-22) #updates:
1- The entire old codebase was refactored into a properly modularized, namespaced and object-oriented codebase running on a proven micro-framework;
2- Every access point is now a proper route which is centrally access controlled; the application does not contain any hardcoded URLs anymore;
3- HTML output is produced through a modern, sandboxed template engine;
4- The original database design was properly normalized but almost all read operations still operate using a single query;
5- #4 means that new coins can be added without changing code;
6- The old database code was refactored to use a modern ORM layer;
7- Previously hacky remote call code was re-implemented using a modern RPC library;
8- The resulting codebase is E_ALL clean and much easier to understand, maintain and extend;
9- Support for luck-forging, raffle tickets and bet-mining was removed;
10- Several long-standing bugs and oddities were fixed both on the front- and back-end.
***We have extensively tested the site and believe that it's solid but as this is essentially a brand-new site/codebase, please let us know if something breaks. We will be monitoring things closely over the next few days, but we appreciate your understanding during this 'startup' phase.

Hi everyone, the code is ready and we've put BetterBets into maintenance mode so that we can migrate the data to our new server. This is currently in progress and we expect this to run for another few hours as it churns through about 150M rows. Once this is done the site will be put LIVE.

When you say "code is ready," does this mean NXT/ShapeShift are ready, or is this something separate?
In addition to numerous fixes and changes, it's close to ready but the entire codebase of our site was re-written so it's been a bit challenging to debug some of the issues. However, things progressing quite well and unless something major pops up again then coming soon.

BetterBets re-launch info: we've re-implemented the entire BB codebase (which was (I hate to admit it) a mess) into a well organized and engineered codebase based on our standard micro-platform. This gives us an significantly superior codebase which will be easier to extend and maintain as well as the ability to add coins/tokens/assets with 0 (yes, zero!) codechanges.
We have been testing the platform extensively over the past 2 days and we've shaken out a lot of minor bugs (the good news is that the fundamental platform has proven to be solid, the bugs we encountered were minor).
We're on the home-stretch to going live but we have to add support for NXT phased transactions and fix a few other loose ends. Once that is done we have a ton of data to migrate to our new server and transform it to our new data model.
Bottom line: we hope to put the new platform live by Wednesday ... additional news/info/timeline will be release as we progress down the home stretch.

Treat yourself to the full wallet download if you have time, the Nxt developers have been very busy and have by far the most features of any wallet we tested. This includes ETH/Lisk/Counterparty etc. it's really quite amazing and a joy to use. (built in exchange, secure private messaging, digital marketplace, the list goes on.)
Thank you for the continued support of this great community, our update coming January 15th partly will be the addition of NXT. In time we hope to add Ardor/Ignis as well if it's popular and desired.

So the old dev has nothing to fo with this new one? The old devs has done a lot of great things for Rbies I hope the new one can do the same I'll be watching for more updates,I wonder what would the old dev thinks about this take over?
We worked together to change Rubies to R2B2 in order to provide greater options and blockchain stability, this was a joint effort, and we passed the project to them. All is good and positive
