I think the bes way to fined out would be to run an analysis on products that got into the market through marketing against those that didn't. If you could do the research, you might get a more satisfying answer.
If I am to answer you right now, I would say it helps. Reason being that, some guys needs a little convincing before purchasing a product. Most especially, when the product is new.

I don't know if this is the right place to put this but, I just want to put my feelings out as I feel with learning being a process, discussion is actually a vital part of that process and its much better should people know how to actually discuss. On the thread, I'm just going to put up one important fact while the rest is up for you guys to say as your pleased. The point I'm putting to the table is , discussion;


100% point of view: No two person can see a thing exactly from the same angle even standing at the same spot. In that same way, no two persons can view a thing or have a thought pattern around a thing the same exact way. There is always a room for contradiction and that's what discussion actually presents people with. The chance to air out contradicting views and thought pattern about a topic or article and gradually get an understanding of each others view points.

Its not okay to see to completely rule out other possibilities or suggestions on a topic or article if you haven't subjectively looked at it and discussed it in vivid with the originator of the idea and you both got an understanding and agreement to on the idea. Its not okay still to see someone else's idea as dumb if you haven't been able to be at their view point and fir you to do that, for you to think from their perspective,  you've got to discuss it vividly with them as to why, what, how, when and a lot of those question patterns.

Learning is discussion and we discuss to learn. So, let's discuss.

Tom was too hasty in his actions of downloading a wallet, in this case electrum wallet from an unofficial source denoted with .org.uk and as such, Tom downloaded a cloned Electrum bitcoin wallet and was phished for privacy details which enabled the scammer to have access to Tom's private details and as such, withdrew Tom's coins.

Tom should have firstly looked out for the official website for electrum wallet app using what ever source of information available to him or her, verifies the official site by asking on bitcointalkforum should he be a member or perhaps, ask a known crypto enthusiast before going ahead to download. After which, atom would be sure to ensure the wallets privacy details stay private before transferring his or her coins from the exchange.

Uncertainty is where the major risk in cryptos lies and uncertainty is what cryptocurrencies and trading them is about. So one who has managed to get his or her predictions about the events that plays out in the market right is sure to tackle the uncertainties with crypto to a high extent.
