I would do it with online poker.  Might be an niche that is under served. And like any business it's probably not enough to launch it and hope people come.  You have to build a community from the ground up.  If you figure out how to do that, please let the rest of us know!!   Smiley

Platform launches offering bounties on whitepapers and news

Thought I'd put the word out that www.chainblx.io has some pretty good bounties (like $1000) for finding falsehoods in whitepapers and news stories.   If you're interested in bounty hunting this appears to be legit.

I get what you're saying and think it's a cool idea.  Your 'stake' in the would just be proclaimed with not real-world application or meaning, but the results of your stake would be based on the real-world performance of the team.   Not a difficult concept, and a terrific way to combine fantasy sports with real sports and betting.   Rooting for you..

Re: What is the obstacle of Bitcoin?

The main problem that bitcoin is facing right now, is the huge manipulation that can be done by just a little group of people. I mean, someone with a few million dollars can easily move the market upsides or downsides.

It is easier to manipulate than the other markets (like the stock market, commodities, or any other thing)

I think you are absolutely right that manipulation is common, and a huge problem.  But I think with Bitcoin it takes huge sums, and coordinated efforts from teams of very knowledgeable people.   But the smaller coins, even ETH, are very vulnerable.  I read that for $4000 an hour you can harness enough energy to dominate ETH (51%)

BTC on Beenie Baby Track

BTC is following a classic pattern that we have seen with many, many 'hot' products.   You can take a value chart for Beenie Babies and lay it over BTC and you'll see a striking resemblance.

Its value is purely speculative as to whether or not it will ever gain adoption.  I've loved BTC for a while now, but I'm out.  The handwriting is on the wall folks.

It may require a hard fork to reset the rules.  I'm concerned about the reward halving in two years among other things.  But the spirit of the BTC community is the strongest force going for it.

It will always be the standard and most trusted "brand" in crypto.  And crypto isn't going anywhere.

Thanks, continuing along the lines of diversification, is there a place that you can hold your cryptos, but also trade in and out of stocks and securities?  Or is there a hard line between those worlds?

Diversification Strategy

What do you all think about a strategy of just investing a little bit in each of the top 100 coins, in hopes that one takes off?  Seems like downside risk would be minimal.

Security Settles on Ethereum in Blockchain Post-Trade First
by

This just in from Coindesk:

https://www.coindesk.com/security-settles-ethereum-first-kind-blockchain-transaction/

It's a first-of-a-kind transaction on blockchain.

I think the experiment was necessary, even though it is obvious that a security will settle first using blockchain technology in the after market.  Additionally, the test was run over a decentralized blockchain, but the whole set-up of the different parts of the system made it very centralized and excludes third parties entering the system. But all in all it was a experiment well done, showing the future potential of blockchain technology.

It illustrates the vision of ChainBLX to scale such transactions to create a completely decentralized economy, which will include trading of digitalized stocks, fiat currencies, cryptocurrencies, options directly with each other, without the additional step of going through the traditional banking system.
