Re: What are the causes of climate change?
by
Bigbangcrazy
on 28/12/2017, 12:59:18 UTC
The only constant... is change.

That's true about life. And it's true about the climate. The climate has been constantly changing since the earth was formed 4.6 billion years ago.

For example, in just the past 2000 years, we have seen the Roman Warm Period, when it was warmer than today...Then came the cooler Dark Ages... Followed by the Medieval Warm period, when it was at least as warm as today... Then we had the Little Ice Age -- that drove the Vikings out of Greenland. And, most recently, a gradual 300-year warming to the present day. That's a lot of changes. And, of course, not one of them was caused by humans.

During the past 400,000 years there have been four major periods of glaciation -- meaning that vast sheets of ice covered a good part of the globe -- interrupted by brief interglacial periods. We are in one of those periods right now. This is all part of the Pleistocene Ice Age which began in earnest two and a half million years ago. It's still going on, which means that we are still living in an ice age. That's the reason there's so much ice at the poles. Thirty million years ago the earth had no ice on it at all.

So, then, what about carbon dioxide, the great villain of the Global Warming alarmists? Where does that fit in to this picture? Not as neatly as you might think.

Temperatures and carbon dioxide levels do not show a strong correlation. In fact, over very long time spans -- periods of hundreds of millions of years -- they are often completely out of sync with each other.

Over and over again, within virtually any time frame, we find the climate changing -- for reasons we do not fully understand. But we do know there are many more factors in play than simply the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere -- factors such as the shape and size of the earth's elliptical orbit around the sun, activity from the sun, and the amount of wobble or tilt in the earth's axis, among many others. Even the relatively short 300-year period from the peak of the Little Ice Age to the present has not been steady. The latest trend has been a warming one, but it began nearly a century before there were significant carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels. And, there has been no significant warming trend in the 21st century. Contrary to media headlines, the trend over the past couple of decades has been essentially flat.

Meanwhile human-caused CO2 emissions are higher than ever. About 25 percent of all the CO2 emissions from human sources have occurred during this period of no net warming.

So, what are we in for next? Will the temperature resume an upward trend? Will it remain flat for a lengthy period? Or, will it begin to drop? No one knows. Not even the biggest, fastest computers.

Re: Real friends.

True friendship involves relationship. Those mutual attributes we mentioned above become the foundation in which recognition transpires into relationship. Many people say, "Oh, he's a good friend of mine," yet they never take time to spend time with that "good friend." Friendship takes time: time to get to know each other, time to build shared memories, time to invest in each other's growth.

Trust is essential to true friendship. We all need someone with whom we can share our lives, thoughts, feelings, and frustrations. We need to be able to share our deepest secrets with someone, without worrying that those secrets will end up on the Internet the next day! Failing to be trustworthy with those intimate secrets can destroy a friendship in a hurry. Faithfulness and loyalty are key to true friendship. Without them, we often feel betrayed, left out, and lonely. In true friendship, there is no backbiting, no negative thoughts, no turning away.

True friendship requires certain accountability factors. Real friends encourage one another and forgive one another where there has been an offense. Genuine friendship supports during times of struggle. Friends are dependable. In true friendship, unconditional love develops. We love our friends no matter what and we always want the best for our friends.

There are many ways to talk about the purpose of life. My opinion is:
“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”

Speeding
You’ve seen them on the highway. Many drivers ignore the speed limit and drive 10, 20 and sometimes 30 mph over the limit. Speed kills, and traveling above the speed limit is an easy way to cause a car accident. The faster you drive, the slower your reaction time will be if you need to prevent an auto accident.

$ 200 is not a big deal, but it's a good enough investment. If you can make a deposit of $ 200, you can make a huge profit with the investment.

you mean ICO?

After a month of hard work I have to pay quite a lot of things. I just got one about 200$ to invest in bitcoin. Should or should not. Please help me !  Lips sealed
Invest your excess amount so that if it will loose you will not regret. Think wisely before you invest in bitcoin. Be sure that the price is lower than before you invest so that if it will goes high, you will gain more profits. After all, your decision is in your hand, no matter what we say you will do what you will think that is better to you.
It's too high. Thanks my friends

Re: Society without money ?
by

The main obstacle would be that people have, for thousands of years, adopted one thing or another as money. Once the idea of money enters people’s heads, they promptly create money if it is absent. Usually within hours.

As others have explained, money is a valuable tool that serves people well.

You might as well ask if a new society without the ability to write were possible. If such a society suddenly sprang into existence, people would immediately invent a way of writing.

Indonesia is wonderful Indonesia for me! I really enjoy the colorful culture and tradition of Indonesia and the diversity and unity (Bhinneka Tunggal Ika) inside the country. Traditional dances, music, even magical and martial arts and especially the food ways were enough to attract me to this beautiful country. I have been living here for a couple of months but have never had any adaptation problem due to the hospitality of Indonesian people. But I cannot say I have seen everything here as it may take years to only know the unique communities and cultures all across the world.
Shortly, it has a rich and historical culture and traditon still reflected by today's generation.

Re: Meaning of terrorist
by
Bigbangcrazy
on 10/12/2017, 04:48:06 UTC
Terrorism is, in the broadest sense, the use of intentionally indiscriminate violence as a means to create terror, or fear, to achieve a political, religious or ideological aim. It is used in this regard primarily to refer to violence against peacetime targets or in war against non-combatants. The terms "terrorist" and "terrorism" originated during the French Revolution of the late 18th century but gained mainstream popularity during the U.S. Presidency of Ronald Reagan (1981–89) after the 1983 Beirut barracks bombings and again after the attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C. in September 2001 and on Bali in October 2002.
There is no commonly accepted definition of "terrorism". Being a charged term, with the connotation of something "morally wrong", it is often used, both by governments and non-state groups, to abuse or denounce opposing groups. Broad categories of political organisations have been claimed to have been involved in terrorism to further their objectives, including right-wing and left-wing political organisations, nationalist groups, religious groups, revolutionaries and ruling governments. Terrorism-related legislation has been adopted in various states, regarding "terrorism" as a crime. There is no universal agreement as to whether or not "terrorism", in some definition, should be regarded as a war crime.
According to the Global Terrorism Database by the University of Maryland, College Park, more than 61,000 incidents of non-state terrorism, resulting in at least 140,000 deaths, have been recorded from 2000 to 2014.

Re: what is the definition of success?

on 10/12/2017, 04:34:20 UTC

being rich? have a good relationship? become a company boss? successful completion of high education?? or there' another definition of success? tell me about you opinion.
Achievement of an action within a specified period of time or within a specified parameter. Success can also mean completing an objective or reaching a goal. Success can be expanded to encompass an entire project or be restricted to a single component of a project or task. It can be achieved within the workplace, or in an individual's personal life. For example, if an individual's personal goal is to be accepted in a new career, success would occur after the individual has been officially accepted into his or her new place of employment.

Re: Does ages really matter in relationships?
by
Bigbangcrazy
on 09/12/2017, 15:30:43 UTC
Age is just a number and not a measure of compatibility. When you fall, your not falling about age. When you are building a relationship, you're not building an age. Relationship is a matter of compatibility and not of numbers. There are younger people with matured thinking and there are older people with childish thinking.. Its not about age, its about maturity and compatibility. As long as you are both happy then age is not a hindrance..

Re: How to be contented on what you have?
by
Bigbangcrazy
on 09/12/2017, 15:23:56 UTC
A lot of the no arguments here are absurd. "Its in the mother's womb!!" That's fine, your body your choice but how does that automatically make the man's choice invalid? Men shouldn't be able to force women to term or force them to have abortions but they also shouldn't be forced into financial obligation. Women work harder than men? Really? Let's see some statistics on how many women work in dangerous conditions compared to men. You get paid for your quality of work a does not care if you have a penis or a vagina they care about money and how much money you make them, your pay is directly related to production. I think there are unfair treatments on both sides legally and socially but in the end women have more rights and advantages than men and less obligations.
