I never met or chatted with rpietali (Risto Pietilä), but I did read quite a bit about his crypto-journey.

As I would see it, monero has during all its trade history been a rangebound coin. Almost certain Rpitila has every one of the numbers to do this in the event that he hasn't done as such as of now. The assets of the previous gathering are monitored, while the assets of the last option bunch are scattered because of misfortunes by blackmail, burglary, and misrepresentation.
I am not sure why you are mentioning Pietilä. He died few years ago.

I remember seeing the news about the car crash leading to his death in Finnish media at the time, but I couldn't find the news article anymore. Finnish wiki page also states that he died on 14.8.2020. His FB page was always (still is) public too and there is an "in memoriam" message.
I found a news article (in Finnish) which is supposedly about the events leading to the accident. However I don't know if it is truly about Pietilä's case since no name is mentioned. Google translated news article below:

Last id seen he went and made a website @ a site levels.fi or something, continued on ever forward with .. whatever it was he was on about. Then i tuned out from that for a while and the last id seen was involved in a head on collision. There was a few stories on it you might have to search on finnish google for it to show up though gl.

Does anyone remember the handle of the guy who used to post here many years ago - he was a little crazy but clearly very clever. His health was bad and I had a feeling he lived in Asia. He knew a lot about Monero. Had plans for creating his own currency but they never worked out. Used to argue with ArticMine a lot. His handle was something to do with War/Revolution/Big Brother. I can't remember.
Any ideas? Between him and rpietila it was a wild time.

Are you referring to Bakkt? I don't pretend to understand much about this market but it seems there are conflicting opinions as to the effect of Bakkt on the price of Bitcoin. There seems to be little price appreciation so far and we're less than five weeks away.

I tend to fall on the small block (at least for now) side of that argument, and believe bitcoin will find it's way in the end.

Yup and I tend to agree with the 'if you wanna scale, you should go off chain' argument. I think some Montereans would tend to agree too.
And generalizethis, Monero had its share of flaws too.

But fungibility isn't one. I'm talking about the stated goal of being "electronic cash," which has been kick the can down the road problem for years with add on features that never address the issue head on. If anyone thinks that BTC will become cash in the next year, I'll take their bet.
I'm not sure that 'electronic cash' is a problem that BTC can't or won't address - at least, not yet. No doubt the ideas surrounding the purpose of BTC have changed over the years, but if BTC is to follow the narrative as illustrated by, among others, Vijay Boyapati (see https://medium.com/@vijayboyapati/the-bullish-case-for-bitcoin-part-3-of-4-2e2c002593f1) then BTC must first become an established and trusted SOV before it can ever become a MOE. That will be some years yet - definitely not in the next year.

I think this shitcoin will drop back to $1. There are too many other privacy coins that have much bigger communities and better development.

Whats up with polo and other exchanges freezing xmr for the last couple days?
Rumours abound. I'm not sure anyone knows for sure.
We got close to ZEC price again in last days, but did not get ahead. I dont believe Monero was ever more expensive then ZEC so far. This was sort of destined to happen because of the emission. Doubt many here speculated it will not happen this long. Any ideas when Monero will get more expensive then ZEC?

I made a post here on April 22, 2018 where I recorded that the price of XMR > ZEC - at least on CMC. Didn't last long though.
