Anyways...good news...i finally received the payment from btcrow...
...due to large bitcoin amount, blockchain requires 89 bitcoin confirmations.
89 confirmations??  They worried about a 51 thousand percent attack?  What a load of crap!

Anyways.  Glad it worked out..

2014 sucked more, because many more whiners were holding and mass media tried to make a circus out of it.

Re: Generate power from thermoelectric generator on a miner
by

Would it be possible to use a Thermoelectric Generator, similar to what is used in space probes but instead on the cooling system of mining rigs, in order to produce electricity to reduce the cost of electricity? How effective would this be and would it have a significant impact on the electric bill?

Don't do it, man!  That's like plugging an extension cord into itself.  You never know what kind of entropy loop-of-doom could be unleashed...

You can complain all you like about me being a treasurer "with a wife" as I guess you'd prefer all treasurers should have no wife (maybe @theymos should have stated that you are not allowed to be married to be a "treasurer" for this forum).

Call it what you want, but you're not a treasurer if you keep trusted money where someone else can seize them on a whim-- only to defend their action and support their demands on the forum.

+1 for having CIYAM send the coins to Theymos, as he has proven that the coins could be jeopardized by his/family member's opinion of forum posts.

Seriouscoin was definitely being an asshole, but it is not the moderators job to keep everything nice and rated G.  Demanding removal of posts to return coins owned by the forum requires a truly special level of being an asshole.

I don't agree with your comment on faucets. The reason faucets paid out more a few years back is because the pay rate is pegged/linked to the value of BTC in USD (or local fiat). As the price of BTC increases the faucet payouts go down. The fiat-based payout has remained constant. So in those terms faucets have always paid dust and the volume of actual users probably hasn't gone up any more than general awareness of bitcoin has.

They pay out substantially less now, even correcting for BTC value, than in prior years.  Two other factors are that more people started fauceting, and many started using tools to automate collecting.

Faucets were originally intended to introduce people to Bitcoin and give them a bit to try out.  They were never intended to be a stream of BTC income.  The only people to blame for faucets being pointless, are the freeloaders...

  • People trying to suck a living out of faucets is why they don't pay out.  Faucets used to pay out full Bitcoins.  Compare that to now.
  • Signature campaigns are why forums fill up with redundant and useless posts.  Paid sigs in a pool of paid sigs will go the same direction as faucets.

Get a job, create a job, start a business, or do something that someone else will pay you for..  Anything you've found on the Internet about getting BTC for practically nothing is dated 2010-2013, is a scam, or is a complete waste of time...

No worries.  Satoshi lost the alert keys and his wallets when his HDD crashed-- before saying, "f-it!  I'm out."

j/k, Satoshi. Don't delete my keys. Please!   Grin

What, exactly, do they mean by "fly sideways"?
I met the guy a couple years ago and talked with him for a few minutes.  He seemed willing to push the envelope, but this sounds like way more than I would've expected.  The accusation sounds a bit unrealistic.

The bad thing.... No make that the good thing... or..maybe..whatever..  Simply put: A is much harder to do than B.

This is standard practice on the freeways: Search for Black Asphalt Network  and you'll find articles like

Now add this:

and connect the dots....
