Re: Dogecoin falling at a rapid rate- while worldcoin rebounds

I don't think we'll see dogecoin's full potential until we reach 100B coins. Even with the 5B coin inflation per year I think dogecoin is going to remain top 10.

Cerebrum: Decentralized Identification Database
by
BitEnthusiast
on 07/03/2014, 06:53:22 UTC
Cerebrum a decentralized identification database would eliminate identity theft, fraud, tracking, centralized databases storing sensitive information, infringement of privacy and civil liberties. Cerebrum would store identification documents on a block chain in the form of an ID Number or Cerebrum Number (public key). Users would be able to access their identity using a private key. Users would store information included in identity documents to Cerebrum. Information like address, name, dob, etc., would not have to be given at anytime. When a user accesses his/her cerebrum number using their private key they would prove their identity.

I do not come from a technical background. I’m no developer. Feedback from developers who actually think this system could be implemented into the world I would like to hear from you. I have ideas of how this system could work, maybe even reputation based systems and crypto currency paper wallets private keys could be stored on Cerebrum and accessed for making payments, but I do not know if this system would even work for anything let alone ID.

I hope I executed my idea concisely in a way for people to understand. I'm not as good at writing as I would like to be.

I'm African-American by the way.

You'll someday realize that most people don't care as much as you do.

I honestly don't. If anybody called me a nigger out of anger I would probably die laughing, but the fact that Bitcointalk let this topic remain on the forum even though it's some ignorant bullshit, make me want to ask "where are the mods when you need em?". If I was a noob to bitcoin and I came on this forum I wouldn't want to see a topic with the word nigger in it. 😕

I find it disgusting that this post hasn't been deleted yet. What happened to your niece is really messed up, I personally hate men that hit women, but a prestigious forum like Bitcointalk shouldn't even let shit like this be posted period! Great job mods. I'm African-American by the way.

Leafcoin Wallet Trouble Need Help (solved)

I synced my wallet, encrypted it, and bought 1mil Leaf from Cryptsy, I sent the coins over to my wallet and still haven't received them. I looked the transaction up in the Leafcoin block explorer and it says "address not seen on network". I made thr transaction last night around 11:00pm and I still havent received them yet. Is this normal? Or do I have to buy 1mil leaf over again?

Re: CEO OF BITCOIN EXCHANGE ARRESTED

I think this is the media spreading FUD about cryptocurrency. What about the $1 TRILLION plus that the Federal Reserve laundered? I don't see that everywhere.

What gets me is you'd think they'd be trying harder.

Exactly. Nobody knows where that $1 Trillion plus went, not even the Inspector General.

Re: Apple developing payment service

Apple iPhones will be crap when the Blackphone launches.

iPhones are bought by the fashion conscience, and those less tech savy with money to spend.  That's a big slice of the market right now, and one Blackphone is unlikely going to dent.
The biggest slice of the market, are people who want the best product, for the least amount of money.  Android wins here, and will most likely grow this sector by a huge margin as prices fall.

I own an iPhone and I'm into fashion as well, but I'm more tech savy than most. The Blackphone is going to be built on top of an android os.

Yup, to test it, but nothing stop us from integrating the concept in bitcoin

Correct me if I'm wrong. The Zerocoin Project was brought to the Bitcoin Foundation, but Bitcoin was hesitant to integrate it to the Bitcoin project due to regulation concerns, thus Zerocoin was modified to be its own cryptocurrency.

Zerocoin is something important. It is being made as a new coin to test it, but the concept can be integrated in bitcoin and probably will.

I have to disagree. At first it was going to be added on to bitcoin, but it was modified to be launched as its own cryptocurrency.

I think alts are great if they're innovative.

Which alts are innovative? I don't think I've seen any in the past couple of months that are.

Zerocoin. It's suppose to launch May 2014. It will make transactions provably anonymous, unlike Bitcoin. Also google Cloudcoin, Bitcloud's cryptocurrency, they both actually serve a purpose and are not built on an existing cryptocurrency.

I've seen you push Zerocoin a lot, are you involved in it at all?

Lol. Not at all. I believe it will be big for those who value privacy and anonymity.

I've seen a few of these tumbling services turn out to be scams. I guess that's the nature of the business.

Never used a tumbling service, but if it's true that it's a scam or it turn out to be, cryptocurrency users will most likely avoid services like it, and use Zerocoin or Dark Wallet for making anonymous transactions in the future.

I guess it's a similar predicament to tor marketplaces. Some start off or appear legitimate, but at any time they can take the money and run.

Is Zerocoin a new coin or something built around Bitcoin?

Zerocoin was a proposed add on to the Bitcoin payment network, but it was modified to be its own Cryptocurrency. Google "Zerocoin" or "Zerocoin Project". Zerocoin's purpose is to make transactions completely anonymous.

I think alts are great if they're innovative. I own Bitcoin and Dogecoin (DOGE for its short term profits), but when Zerocoin, Cloudcoin (Bitcloud's cryptocurrency), and Ethers (Ethereum's cryptocurrency) launch, coins like these that serves a purpose will be the new and most alts that are built on top of existing protocols will die out. I thinks its best to just go with the flow.

OP - as someone who is into zerocoin and dark wallets, do you know much about bitcoin tumbling?  I've never used a tumbling service myself but it seems like tumbling might address issues of anonymity for those who want anonymity.  What would get everyone else to switch over?

I think that being an early adopter of an innovative coin would cause cryptocurrency users to diversify into zerocoin, but not switch completely. I believe that Bitcoin will be here for the duration of cryptocurrency.

Is tumbling where the payment goes through various transactions before arriving at it's destination?

Yeah, it's just a way of laundering money by bouncing transactions around.

Tumbling could address anonymity issues, but who would want to send a payment through several transactions before the payment is secure enough when they could just use Zerocoin or make a payment with Dark Wallet? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Dark Wallet jumbles your address for every transaction. Bitcoiners probably would use Dark Wallet or Zerocoin to send completely anonymous transactions.
