If I'm an investor, I would be far too scared to hold onto these coins knowing there's kids trying to cash in their allowance money with voting rights to the block reward...

IMO this needs to be addressed, lock it to 25 TAC block reward and let difficulty take care of the rest...

Or, if this is not a workable solution, your voting rights should be based on how many TAC you have and/or how long you have held your TAC, more voting rights should be given to those who are here for the long haul and want to help this coin grow...

I'm not instamining so I'm not concerned with temporary price fluctuations, for those of us that are here to see this coin be a success, hold your coins...

I realise the developer for this coin may not have English as his first language which is fine, it seems he has appointed a spokesperson who is very helpful.  However I think it's now time we put a delivery plan in place, with some rough objectives and dates, to give the community and potential investors an idea of whats in store both in the short and long term.

It's very pleasing to see a healthy network hash as well...

should we vote whether the reward voting needed?  Smiley

Okay so this coin is a bit special for me so sorry for the length of this saga (: It is the first coin that I watched from the beginning and stuck around and talked with the community throughout. There has been more drama in Shibe's month of life than the entire run of the TV show "Lost".

I must admit to being a bit annoyed at first by Loq. What I realize now is that he was just doing what everyone who launches a coin does: be excited about it all around Freenode's IRC. The heart of the altcoin community is in there so of course that's what he did. My nitpicking complaint that he was badgering the Mintpal staff to get added as a hot new coin seems pretty trivial now. Every new coin with any kind of volume is going to have overexcited followers who beg to be on the world's biggest exchange, that just makes sense. Loq did not keep this badgering behavior up or anything just telling the story of my introduction here. Despite this initial reaction, people in the mining community kept talking about it. I decided what the heck, let's check it out.

From these early days someone has really hated this coin. I mean, seriously *hated* it. I don't understand why at all. The theory among the conspiracy minded in the #shibecoin channel is that it's someone from the Dogecoin community. Which I personally think would be really odd since Dogecoin is #3 in a chain of ripoffs already. But you know, people gonna be peeps and well, get mad bro. There was also a fork which could have upset some people who lost money, but that's just par for the course in crypto. Later I learned that Loq and Energion were both in some kind of position of authority (at least in IRC) in the Whitecoin community during it's time of meltdown and I think someone from there seems likely. This someone (or multiple pissed off someones) may or may not have been buying and dumping Shibe at a loss, or their FUD was so successful that it caused a similar effect on the community. I didn't dump, not sure what others did.

Around this time another coin appeared and started spamming Shibe's IRC channel. Doje. Same exact idea as Shibe except dumbed down to the 100th degree, coincap at ridiculous levels, and a 20% premine that's plainly visible in their Main.cpp at github. My immediate reaction was ironically the exact same as the Dogecoin hater. I could not stand that someone had forked/copied the idea of Shibe. Then I realized that maybe this would draw or dilute the hate coming from FUD-ster #1 and well, that I'm dumb =).

Then something totally crazy happened. People liked Doje! Not just liked it but were buying and everyone was partying like it's 1999 in the IRC channel. On the first or second night of it's existence something like 3 million of them rained on me. An excited Doje community sprang to life instantly.

An odd thing about Doje: it actually works really pretty well. The network was running smoothly at a time when Shibe's network was clogged up more than myself after I eat a bunch of cheese. This may be because Doje's PoS implementation happens to work particularly well, or possibly because more people were running Doje wallets than people running Shibe. I'm not sure why it worked better than Shibe but it did. More folks jumped ship because of this.

After a period of stagnation, whales start dumping. It was Shibe's council team, probably every single one of them. Pretty sure on this. He-said-she-said on who started it. I don't care. But the result was another big hit on the price.

Us clueless plebs in the IRC channel at this point are in complete limbo, wondering what the heck is going on, why Shibe is steadily losing value. The development of Shibe which at first had some real energy (lol Energion had his batteries charged) and speed had suddenly come to a grinding halt. A program called "Shibidends" was a carrot that we followed. News for the sake of news. A glorified rich list and most of us suspected that's what it was but were happy to see Shibe in the news. Desperate for good news at this point.

Finally after several days of following the carrot Energion appears in #shibecoin and reassures us that all is well, Shibidends is on track and the future is bright.

Then one evening soon after OdynGrd (sp? he's not in chan now) drops a serious bombshell in the IRC channel: Doje was created by Loq and Energion to try to distract the FUD away from Shibe.

ARE. YOU. FUCKING. KIDDING. ME.

One of the accusations of the original FUD-ster was that Loq was some shady developer that's been behind some past coin failures. And now here's one of the council members saying that Loq has done exactly what the FUD-ster said. So I'm immediately pissed at Loq.

What happened next was a kind of coup. Loq and Odyn took over Shibecoin, wrenched it away from Energion (and I later learned, Frystikken). I actually and honestly believe that they did this because they were tired of constantly lying to the community they were supposed to be leaders of.

The reason I believe this is clear. (1) Loq admitted everything I've said here on video. He has apologized and now seems to be focused like a laser on what's important: making Shibe awesome. (2) Delivering the awesome. What you see here is not just some pretty new wallet UI. To say it is is a huge disservice to the folks at Bittrex who are helping change the code base to a PoS system that isn't constipated. Feel free to drop into Bittrex's IRC channel and ask what their process has been like. It's really impressive, they're managing to swap out the blockchain of a coin with minimal or no loss.

Side note: during the last round of drama here Doje has changed names to BankNote.

BankNote folks: getting away from the silly / joke beginnings of Doje is good. But please, step out into the light, make some plans to make BankNote awesome. It could be. Your system works well. Just show yourselves, admit the stupidity and luck of the beginnings of BN and try to make it awesome.

Both teams: guys, the time for squabbling is over. You both have what could be awesomely bright coins to work on. Please do that. Shibe seems on the right path but Loq can't resist the occasional dig in the channel or in the obsolete #dojecoin channel. Loq, cut that shit out. Energion and Frystikken, come on guys play time is over. Bittrex: you guys seriously kick butt.
oh, thank you
very informative

Re: Litecoin Creator (Charlie Lee) Recommends Merged Mining with Dogecoin
by
BitLudmann
on 09/04/2014, 21:45:15 UTC
This would definitely kill Dogecoin!
Charlie Lee made an offer only because he sees Doge as a strong competitor, Doge is very able to take the second place instead of Lite.

Litecoin is still going to die due to asics, who need the second asic-Bitcoin if the first one still exists?
Sooner or later this will happen even in spite of a large cap.

Charlie Lee plans to bind Doge to scrypt, in this case Doge wont be able to overtake him. So if Doge won't change the algo, they stay behind Lite forever!

Save DOGE!
Don't let it merge with half dead coin!

....What are the active nodes? - Probably the most important thing from any of this
This coin still has potential, I am okay with it being traded this low because it just means cheap coins haha.

Nodes in standard config

For those saying dead, we arent active 24/7 as we have normal jobs and university to attend to. We are around, we are working on getting exchanges and other services on board. We have not walked off with loads of bitcoin, everything minus bounties has been paid for by one of the team's small mining rig.

The coin has huge potential, we saw that when it launched, and we want to keep working on it and making it bigger to realize its true potential. Smiley

We are available at our contact email or by forum message whenever.

Launching a coin is difficult, no doubts about it.

you should have written at the beginning you are students, and helix is made just for fun, bacause to bring it to something seriously you have to work 20hours a day. People lost their time and capacity

hopefully the price of maxcoin will keep droping till its something like 15-20000 satoshis, then i will buy, anything over is paying for hype and the name.

dont be jerk.Miners need higher price to want mine this.If price going lower then everybody flee to others coin and your buy order will be totaly useless. No miners no future price up and you lost.
Miners mining for profit not for storing hoping that price rise.In this days when we have about hundreds altcoins storing anything is useless and day basis selling is only option.Who wait to any coin will rose to the moon in future is for me fool which loose in future.
Its my opinion.

Most MAX miners are provably retarded so why should anyone sponsor their bullshits? Investors are supposed to prevent price for falling or even
make it go up but a horde of retards are still allowing 51% attacks which inevitably and always end up with price drops. Investors are supposed to
put serious money into MAX but risk losing everything if exchanges become attacked and thus stop MAX trading possibly for all times. Dream on.

Nothing has changed for the better since my last post on this thread so no reason for price to stay where it is now. It should and will go down.

this is the strategy of greedy beggar. instead to assure a half with 1% forever, he robbed it a short time and quite killed the coin for all.

Max isn't an idiot (though he does talk like one frequently)... if 1GH tries to abuse its power and double spend or if someone hacks 1GH then Max would back away quietly rather than have his name plastered all over news reports of a massive scandal like that.

if a whole bunch of coins get stolen like Mt GOX then this coin is gonna be a hot potato that nobody will want to catch...

max and the devs should go on RT and tell everyone to get the F off 1GH.

their pool is devaluing every ones investments so they should have their reputation tarnished publicly and openly

The security of the network is in the hands of an arrogant and irresponsible 1gh pool op, what could possibly go wrong?

If it was just a matter of money, 1gh.com already done much harm and grabbed enough! Why the hell don't the devs and owner oppose him actively?

Reorder and his accomplice onliner are suspected of the attack on the competitor pool! He has stolen money from users, that were fully paid back from own funds!!

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2419.msg31827#msg31827

You know you'd better come up with a proof for an accusation like this.

Cannot stop it?..

I came to memorycoin as a pool with 1.5%fee some time later as you still had ca.90% of hashrate with your 3.5%fees. People were glad to get a more fair pool, but suddenly after a significant part of miners came to dwarfpool, it has been attacked from two hackers who knows exactly about the source code of Memorycoin-wallet, source code of miners, an algorithm of Momentum with Birthday collisions on the lowest level.

Such a specific use of vulnerability on the crypto-level could be only known to the developers of coin, pool or miner-software. That are only a few persons on the world have this background and can make such attack so quickly: developer of Memorycoin, developer of the 1th pool, developer of yam-miner and Reorder (russian developer of miners and owner of biggest pool).
The attacker-management addresses are known. One and main of them is from Russia. I find that's really very suspicious!

Furthermore, you and "onliner" slander dwarfpool of stealing shares, pool, money whenever possible without any evidence!
That's strange, I do not even touch you, but as you (or your accomplice) said it yourself: "He that commits a fault thinks everyone speaks of it"..  To lead a pool is very responsibly, it is matter of trust, I'd never wish to be a user of a pool whose owner's get such thoughts like yours..
You khow, my reputation is the most important thing for me, I paid all that was stolen from my users! dwarfpool has the most transparent stats!

Now, as an op of anonymous pool, I do not even see a possiblility to 'steal' from it to anyone but owner. There are no logins, how does one change the payment address at all? I take it that you have stolen from your users yourself and when this did not work out, did not even bother to make up a good excuse. Just started pointing fingers randomly.

Your reputation is only that of an avid and talented README changer, and everybody can see that: https://github.com/Atrides?tab=activity . An astounding contribution to the opensource!

Please do your shady things with your poor miners as you like, but get off my back already.

Guys, you really overact!! I never began this SHIT, but do not expect me to be silent on your vile slander everywhere!!
I'd say you are too aware for someone who does not deal with this attack.

I'm not a moron to rob my users after some weeks of hard work on a pool. Anyone who bought pool code wont be able to understand this, sorry.
This is also not my end work, I'm preparing a large project based on pool's knowledge and experience. In addition, I have been successfully leading a service with about 100K users for many years, I khow well what is a reputation worth.

Stop it to poke me I'd stolen GPL code! That is absurdly!
And your astounding contribution do not mean you are white and fluffy

You already get the answer how to attack the anonymous pool, but for miners: The hackers sent many fake shares from several accounts (fake-shares bomb), thereby increased a part of his own shares at the expense of other users.

Do you consider the users here as idiots who cannot open a link and read it, who cannot distinguish the difference between attack on pool-level and a website-level?
Although this is your style to attract attention to insignificant details. Your actions just strengthen the suspicions against you.

Oh what's the news, the greatest part of the whole maxcoin hashrate is really not in honest hands
1gh.com not good for maxcoin
