The main question remains - whether "decentralization" is really something that people value. I would not be suprised if people stay at Dropbox/Google. This is something I started to notice a while ago - people involved in crypto tend to overestimate decentralization. And crowd.. just does not care. So if there is no demand for decentralized storage - storjcoin price will go down. If there is demand - it will go up. Doesn't really matter what early adopters would do.
Even if people don't value decentralization, increased redundancy and higher privacy, they will value cheaper storage!

Can you please tell us how will the rewards be split among Test Group B and Test Group C?
Will the rewards be proportional to the amount of space and bandwidth shared? (in the test phases I mean)

There are unlimited amount of sites offering cloud storage for free. What's so special about this project?
If you don't care about privacy / redundancy or storing large amount of data for less, then this project is not for you. At least not yet.

Judging from the information provided here: http://storj.io/earlyaccess.html I imagine the test phases will be complete sometime around March 2015... But there is no fixed deadline.
Right, I just hope that this project succeeds and not get dropped halfway through. Need a cheaper way to store my files
Yeah, we all hope this will succeed! And considering the progress done so far I think we are on the wright track - it might make some sense for you to also invest in some SJCX
If this will be a success, we can expect for the price of SJCX to increase substantially!Also this won't just be a cheaper way to store your files - but a much much safer and secure way!!

During the test phases (A, B and C) there is no way to mine without having to pay for SJCX.
After the network will go live you will be able to start mining without having to pay anything.

i personally invested in new hardware , bought around 12 TB of HDD , have more room to grow , so now it just wait and see game

Thankfully farming doesn't require excessive maintenance bills in the way of electricity. Ideally we would want to be used on existing systems with little to no cost.
Won't there be a problem if the PC gets shut down during night time? I imagine most personal computers get powered off a few hours each day.
After how much time will the Storj network cancel the contracts accumulated?
What price range should I expect for Storj and will it be permanent too?
Prices for storing files on the Storj network will be dictated by the market (supply vs demand). Most likely they will be waaay lower than Dropbox rates.

4% is the same as paypal and it doesn't offer to much financial incentive for people who already have paypal setup (besides the obvious ideological ones)

in conditiile in care la sec. Market sunt cateva oferte (locale, adica din Buc.) cu cateva procente bune sub pretul pietei zici ca e mai rezonabil sa cumperi de la un ATM (care vinde mai scump ca sa recupereze investita + profit) ?
pt mine nu e neaparat mai rezonabil, dar pt unii oameni mai comozi care nu vor sa interactioneze cu persoane necunoscute de la care cumpere cred ca ar fi foarte rezonabil

sa inteleg ca diferenta (in cazul videoului) de ~$40 intre pretul cu care vinde ATM-ul si media exchange-urilor nu te-a deranjat ?
acea diferenta poate fi setata/modificata de catre patron. ATM-ul din Buc poate va avea o diferenta mai mare, sau mai mica, cel mai bine ar fi sa asteptam si sa vedem
cu cat vor exista mai multe astfel de ATMuri sau alte modalitati de a cumpara BTC, cu atat acea diferenta de pret se va reduce
oricum acei 6-7% care sunt in plus fata de pretul unui exchange sunt foarte acceptabili tinand cont ca acela era singurul ATM pe o raza de sute de km si ca ofera o metoda simpla pt oricine sa cumere de cativa dolari BTC si sa vada cum functioneaza. Daca vrei sa cumeri de sume mari, este logic sa cauti intr-un loc unde este cat mai ieftin (daca te duce mintea), dar pentru sume mici mi se pare foarte rezonabil un astfel de ATM

Aveti mare grija cu ATMurile lu` peste. Trecand peste faptul ca aia 2 sunt praf, trebuie sa fii nebun sa apelezi la serviciile unui ATM-ul Robocoin.

Daca patronii vor dezactiva identificarea biometrica, nu vad nici o problema in a utiliza un astfel de ATM, cel putin pt sume mici de bitcoin.
