Re: No, China is not planning on unbanning bitcoin mining

I am with you. Some time ago I opened a thread in meta about a similar case:

How to deal with multiple, factually incorrect threads?

The only thing I would'nt have done is to self-moderate the thread. That will cause it to have fewer replies and you may find several other threads with more replies than keep being bumped while yours dies.

If you are pissed off that people don't read and say false information you can try reporting but you may have not much success reporting for false information.
Having it self moderated is a good thing because it will discourage the people who spread these stupid rumors without evidence. Take a look at the replies on the topics linked and you will see that most are in a altcoin signature and they are posting similar posts to other people in the topic without giving it any thought just so they can earn money.

Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022

Despite losing I still think that Manchester City will win the league. Their bench is worth over 300 million and their on field players are closer to a billion. No other team in the league can compete with that and they will probably add to their team before the transfer window closes.

If history is anything to go by then revivals are never worth your time watching, investing or learning about.

Re: Why bitcoin can never go past $7000
by

Now you know that it touch downed on this day of what you don't think it can reach at this year, hope you know now that bitcoin will surpass $10000 just in 2018 and that speculation of  mine is what I will be waiting to happen. Indeed altcoins are pumping too but bitcoin is on the run too and no one can control now on it's pumping. So, better keep some bitcoins right now and I will really wait for the coming of bitcoin's value on $10k even not by 2018 but in the coming years.
2017 was certainly the year of bitcoin. Altcoins had a nice period (in the summer) when lots of them flourished but at the arrival of fall, lot's of them fell to extreme lows. The whole 2x drama will decide whether 2018 will be another bitcoin year or not.

Altcoins get short term hype which creates a lot of people money which then they later convert into Bitcoin which I think is good for the value of bitcoin but shouldn't be encouraged. 2017 was a year for Bitcoin but its still unclear whether or not its a bubble.

In theory it should be worth a lot more than it is today just because it will be an exclusive currency and not much of it will be up for grabs. As long as bitcoin still is in circulation then it should be worth lots.

I don't think it's going to crash but we could see a correction of the price because of the hype from the hard forks and such.

I actually think it's possible looking at the price now. I first doubted it but now even if it is a bubble we could see it hit 10,000 and beyond before new year.

Honestly I don't think this is a bad thing I normally don't agree with China on a lot of things but ICOs are nearly always scams as well as a very easy way for money laundering which should be regulated.

Re: Why do some governments prohibit bitcoin circulation?
by
BitcoinIsAlgebraic
on 05/11/2017, 10:57:49 UTC
Some countries are just scared of the power Bitcoin gives to them and the lack of power it gives the government. Some fear it because it can't be regulated easily and it can be funded for malicious things.

Bitcoin.org has all the wallets which you have full control over. But I would personally recommend Electrum too as if you send a transaction with a small fee you can correct it before a confirmation which is a very handy feature.

Re: When BTC up, Why ALTCOIN suddenly down .?
by
BitcoinIsAlgebraic
on 05/11/2017, 10:55:16 UTC
Basically people are converting their altcoins into bitcoin. so what is happening is Bitcoin is having a pump because of the amount of people who are investing in it and the altcoins are having a dump because of the people selling their alt coins for bitcoin.

I don't believe the hype in any of these ICOs which are coming out and most are scams or likely scams in the long term. ICOs are just out to make their quick money and then bail on the project.

You can ask one of the free services over at the service sub forum. they normally help as long as the fee isn't massively low. You could also try a mining pool to accelerate the transaction.

Re: South Korea Tightens Bitcoin Regulations, Will ‘Punish’ ICOs: Report
by
BitcoinIsAlgebraic
on 05/11/2017, 10:52:06 UTC
We can see in the future much more disappointing decisions regarding bitcoin regulation. It's not only because of growing number of "promising" ICOs. It's about preventing money laundering through ICO also.

Which I agree with most ICOs are scams anyway and combating against money laundering and the scams is good in my opinion. Bitcoin is also going to get regulated by many different countries but its better than an outright ban.

Never heard of them but that doesn't mean they are a scam and could of just made a mistake. Look at the scam accusations sub forum here and see if they have any accusations against them and contact their support for help.

Mining hardware at least the very best will cost you a lot more than $2500 and probably isn't going to earn that back unless you have a cheap electricity bill. I would recommend investing alt coins with such a small amount to invest and then convert those back into Bitcoin.

I set myself weekly limits. I used to gamble every day but have since limited it to the weekends only and only a certain amount. If I walk away with a profit I still don't go beyond my limit.

Honestly for anyone asking the same question just don't do it. Strike it off as a loss because your likely to rush to try and get it back and end up losing a lot more. I wish I learned this sooner in life.

Trading is better due to Bitcoin having a much more likely chance of going up in price whilst gambling there is always a house edge.

Re: Can trading be considered as gambling??
by
BitcoinIsAlgebraic

Trading and gambling are closely related the same as investment and gambling are very closely related. I think trading can be counted as gambling just because your hoping for higher prices when it may never come.
