I think this is great news, both for personal reasons and also for Bitcoin in general.
1) It's awesome, because I am lazy and it makes my life easier. I don't have to go through the trouble of using a calculator and looking for the freshest price of bitcoin every time i need to calculate the price of x amount of bitcoins.
Before yesterday when I wanted to know how many btc i could get for $25000 i had to go through three steps: First I had to find the most current price of btc on coinmarketcap.com or coindesk or any other site with current information.
Secondly I had to open up a calculator.
Third I had to calculate (current price x $25000) and only then could I get the answer.
Now i just open up Bing and type "25000 usd to btc" and i get the answer.
Much easier. When calculating several different amounts this is
very helpful.I'm sure this has been coded before and lots of people use these kinds of applications already, but to the mainstream public it's a first. Shows, that stuff is getting serious, when Microsoft gets in on it.
2) It's also good for Bitcoin in general.I am not the only lazy person in the world. There are lots of people just like me, who want to do things faster and more conveniently. I have never used Bing before, I am
always going to google when I need to search anything. Will this make me use Bing for searches aswell? I am now going to Bing whenever I need to calculate the amount of btc i get for another currency.
Maybe this will create a habit of using Bing for other searches aswell.Again, I am not the only lazy person in the world... Lots of people are going to be using Bing, just like me...
Which means that Bing will be
stealing traffic from Google... Will Google
let it happen?
I doubt it!If Google
doesn't want to lose traffic to Bing it will have to
go with the flow and
also add a btc converter. Since the google currency converter already has more currencies than the Bing converter, might Google also add othe cryptocurrencies like Litecoin or Nxt etc? Even if they go with only btc it's still a great event in the Bitcoin world.
Google adding a btc converter would be a
huge headline. A headline that would
leave btc investors and speculants rubbing their hands together. What are your thoughts on this?
Do you think it's a good update by Bing?
Do you think Google will punish Bing in this battle for traffic?
And mainly: what kind of an effect do you think it will have on the price of BTC?
