I recon you should get a block eruptor.  It's a great introduction into ASIC mining.  You may accumulate enough coins to be able to order (pre order) one of the gen2 ASICs coming out soon, if you try out mining and see what it's about.

This is MTGOX's financial innovation: The withdraw time is so long that people are all forced to do long term investment in bitcoin, and the price will rise long term wise, this protect the exchange rate  Grin

If it takes several months to withdraw your dollars from NASDAQ, you would just buy some stock and hold them for years before you withdraw

Don't blame gox for USD withdrawal time. Blame your retarded government.

I withdraw AUD from gox and it takes 1 business day!

When was this ? Since July ?

June or July.

When?

I think this is simply not true.

They would be sending AUD via SWIFT correct?

I have EUR and PLN waiting to be withdrawn for weeks as well.

Swift?  I'm not sure...

Last time I withdrew money, I needed for a power bill on a monday/Tuesday night. On the Thursday it was there!

I was like HOLY SHIT.

Aww that sucks Sad

I was looking forward to putting one of these in The Bitcoin Museum

Can't wait for the new generation Smiley

Maybe you can get one signed from BKKCoins... that be best anyhow.

I did the next best thing.  Bought all the K1 parts from his site ( including proto board and solder stencil)

Only for the museum Smiley

I look forward to the auction of those 20 prototypes.  As I've stated, I'll be keen to get one of these in my Bitcoin Museum

Despite everyone saying its all about drivers it's not.

I installed 4x 5970 cards on windows 7 (new machine etc) 12.xx drivers and shit didn't start working properly until I put in dummy plugs.

Just sayin...

T13hydra,

I'm just curious on what we get when we purchase a board ( with chip attachment etc)

Is it a complete package ready to go?

Does it come with heatsink?

Does it come with power adapter? If so what connectors does it come with? If not what connecter does it need, and at what amperage?

Does it come with USB plug. If so, how long?  If not what kinda plug does it need?

Just preparing to have these in hand. I need to buy hubs etc ( I got 16 boards coming)

Thx

Re: Block Erupter USB - Overclocking/ hacking ?
by

I asked the same question on your website,

Can you just swap the crystal to 14 or 16 and nothing else and get increased results?

The lowest crystal speed that I was able to use without changing the voltage was 13.5 mhz. Wasn't much of a speed increase but was noticeable. Though with out changing the voltage resistors you may get more mining hardware errors.

I updated my page with this info

So I'm going to buy some oscillators and some resistors to play with.

Can you point me in the way of which resistors to use to increase the power? I was thinking about modding up to 18mhz (with steps of course).

Now that i cant build rigs anymore, this feeds my hobby urge. Just for shits and giggles Smiley

Got any info on which resistors I should buy while I'm getting the clock oscillators?

thx, no it only has dvi, hdmi and displayport

Use a dvi to VGA connector, and make the dummy plug with that.

I have the same issues as you, but this fixed it Smiley

Just jump on eBay and buy the resisters if you can't get em locally.
