May is around the corner so I don't think the release date is a problem. Four months will fly by and we'll finally have a fix.

Here we have this great new technology that everyone in the world wants in on and the primary currency in this whole new revolution has been broken for way too long. Will Bitcoin gold be successful? What's really going on with Segwit x2? How does Bitcoin Cash fit into this equation? How bad are these forks for the original Bitcoin? What effect will they have on the cryptocurrency market as a whole? Is it a wise idea to just withdraw everything into USD for now? Opinions? Speculations?
Will the gold be successful? nah. it doesn't have first mover advantage like cash does.
Segwit2x? dunno I figured the people behind it where afraid of it failing and thus making them folks look bad. So they axed it instead of gambled with their reputation. There was a lot of opposition to it and I really thought it would fail too.
Cash has first mover advantage, first real fork of bitcoin. An altcoin but with huge support. I doubt gold will ever touch it.
Don't withdraw just hold. strong hands will make u gains like u wouldn't believe. This year the institutional money started coming into BTC. It just started.. don't leave yet!!

All the -70% activity spanking doesn't do much for community building, too early for punishment. The history of airdrop coins being successful without innovation is very poor, there's so much competition now, and when more than 50% of the community realise while they were waiting for direction from the dev they had their pants pulled down and their bums smacked for lack of 'activity', many will stop paying attention here.
For better or worse the dev must lead and show direction, at least at the start. When I see people getting enthusiastic and evangelising an 'unknown' project I smell insincerity and BS. @dev, you lead first and then spank the inactive community members later, not before the fucking project has even started!

Most of those are farmed accounts. Once those accounts get removed from the distribution list then we'll see screaming happening.

Yeah that happens with airdrops all of the time. Just look at the participant list for The Movement DAO airdrop. I would say about 60%-70% of the applicants are farmed accounts.

I agree with this assessment. Bitcoin gold will trade for less that BCH and will not pump to 1200 like BCH did. My prediction is it pumps to 800-900 range then falls to prices below BCH.
Alright you guys got me interested in this one. I'm checking it out. Will let you know if I find anything fishy, otherwise I may just have to buy some. Then again, if BTC keeps rallying then I'll just wait for the price to come down.

Bitcoin Gold is said to be ASIC resistant and uses Scrypt allowing general public to mine using their existing GPU mining setup. If more people start to mine and the demand increases because its easy over ASIC, wont the price increase ?

I didn't know that. So we already have Scrypt asics I've had mine for 3 years.. I guess maybe if this is profitable I will mine this instead of LTC.
