Re: [ANN][VOT]: VoteCoin - a new era of anonymous crypto democracy

Hi guys, i need your opinion on this one. I've been discussing with dev the subtle renaming of the main words that define this coin, and i think i have an alternative that fits more with the actual use (that will be implemented in a couple of month probably) ...please share your opinion on this if you would like to:

"Elections" and "poll" could be rephrased to "Decision funding" and "staked poll"

the reason behind this is that VOT enables participants to a poll to spend VOT and both finance and stake money on their decision choice. Also election is too much connected to politics, at least where i come from, and this might cause confusion. Tbh i don't see political elections migrate in any way to any different "system", so a better wording for the use of this coin is neccessary to explain its use

Do you think its good? do you find it confusing?

Please share your opinion

much appreciated.
(i need this for the new site)

I agree. I like decision funding a little better.

Wait a minute, are you saying BitcoinZ was not premined? At all?

What about Dev fee? LikeZCash has 20%. Whats the Dev fee for BitcoinZ?

I'm asking because they are all Equihash.

ZERO premine, ZERO dev fee, ZERO tax

i am using the NEW gui wallet and works great.

I noticed a problem if you run the zcash wallet at the same time, it won't work, and needs a bit of time to close before it does

transactions happen in under 2 seconds (no joke), idk how its possible to be that fast.

The devs are not much into advertising the true value of their project right, but i saw some of the plans and this is kickass coin, its more functional than any other coin i tried so far. I hope to be among the first to implement it in my projects, and there are solid plans to make it a lot more friendly for its purpose.

Probably one of the most undervalued coins out there... but price will explode once devs implement the voting / crowdfunding setion of the wallet

Thanks for your insight. I agree that this is one of the most undervalued coins out there. I'm looking forward to more updates from the devs. I'd also like to know if there are any mining pools that donate a percentage of the pool fee back to the votecoin development fund. Maybe we can help to raise some extra money for the next phase of the project.

As far as we know, there is no such incentive. The reason is simple, there is no VoteCoin development fund.
If there is enough demand and we see support from pools, we can set up development fund address, where pools could transfer percentage of their fee or people can send donations.

But we think, we need to get listed on some major exchange first, to be able to exchange VOT for BTC and vice versa.

We negotiated with a small exchange and they should list VOT within 2 weeks.
However, our main goal is still listing on Bittrex or Poloniex.

Nice, congrats on the exchange listing. The community is here to support the project. Just let us know what you need and we can all work together to help. I would gladly move to a pool with a 1% fee if I knew a portion of it was being donated to benefit Votecoin.

I'm really sorry for the disappointment.
We were able to collect only about 15% of our target during ICO, and for that reason everything takes much longer than expected. But I can assure you we are still on the track and our best intention is to make everything working as soon as possible.

After we have GUI wallet, we will be able to provide plugins for website owners, so they can integrate voting functionality into their websites, so users can vote by clicking on a hyperlink in browser (wallet will open).
It will allow users and website owners to both earn and spend money (coins), and to use VoteCoin for real-life voting purposes, which is the main goal - and I believe this is the main factor which will drive up the future price of the coin.

-Tom

Is there a list of pools that donate a portion of the pool fee back to the project? I'd be happy to switch pools if it is for the greater good of Votecoin.

Developer started to answer this thread more often. Respect!

Yes, I hope to see the developer more often. It inspires confidence in the community. More people will support this coin if the developer is more active. I have not mined 1 votecoin yet. But now that I see the developer say that he is still committed to making this coin successful, I'll start mining. The community needs reassurance every once in a while that the devs are still committed to making this coin successful. Best of luck team.

Thanks for the fee suggestion guys Smiley

Tom is now exploring z-nomp and trying to setup the pool fee.

As of now VoteCoin official pool mined and paid out 3916816.04419753 VOT since we launched it.
1% is about 39k VOT which equals roughly $1000 at current prices.
With that kind of money we can't do any serious marketing, but it is still better than nothing Smiley

Of course you could always use some of the 29BTC that you collected from the ICO rather than try and drive away miners from the pool - but hey, what would I know - I'm only a miner...

A started mining your coin. After a few hours, I am on pace to mine 70-80 coins per day with 6 1070ti's. Does that sound about right?

What is the current value of the coin?

Current exchange rate 0.00001506 TALER/BTC

You can check the current exchange rate to different currencies at https://taler-ex.online. Taler is currently traded only here.

Thanks. Unfortunately, it looks like there isn't much incentive to mine this right now.

Well said. As a new miner I was drawn to the largest pool (suprnova) because it felt the safest and I had no idea which ones could and could not be trusted. It turns out that I was right. @ocminer does a great job of running that pool. However, as I learned about the importance of spreading out the hash rate, I started looking into other places to mine. It's not an easy choice to take a leap of faith like that but it's up to us to keep this thing balanced.

There are other options out there that are just as trustworthy. Just ask around and find a pool run by a well-respected member of the community. They might not be the biggest pools but the earnings are just as good (if not better). I've also found that the communities in these smaller pools are fantastic. Everyone exchanges strategies and ideas to help the entire community grow and make more profit together.

Hey guys!

I announced new little GUI Win-Shell for miners (multi algo). Alpha version, but its working =)
I added there our coin and all pools that donate to community

RocketShell preview: http://s25.znimg.ru/1516391340/yymfq56sqv.png

Hope, my app help us to promote BTCZ.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2786521

PS: sry for my bad English)
GUI for miners. Its actually a good news for BitcoinZ community of miners. Thank you for your work.

I have question. I can to buy BTCZ maybe 20K. But Exchange not good because on Stockexchange not function to depozite BTC. Trade satoshi dont have very well good reputations and recenzion. CCEX not open e new customers now.
Please are this place people which sell me BTCZ  for exchange BTC or USD?

Thank you ansver. Best regards

BTCZ community is working hard to get listed on more exchanges. The options to buy BTCZ are not perfect right now but I've had the best experience with tradesatoshi. I've been able to get my coins in and out without any issues. They've been around for a little while. Customer support is another story. If you run into any issues at any of these exchanges, you'll likely be waiting 2-3 days for support.

Just try a small test purchase to see if everything runs smoothly or not.

Guys, I need a little help...

I've been getting this error all day... "snowgem-cli.exe is not recognized as an insternal or exteral command, operable program or batch file"

The wallet finally loaded about an hour ago. After it synced, my address was different and my 200 snowgems were missing.

What the heck happened?
Do all the step mentioned in the OP

The only instructions I see in the original post are:

Download wallet at: https://snowgem.org/#wallet
1. For Windows: run SimpleWallet.exe

Am I missing something?
Extract files, copy paste into xxx folder. I don't remember exactly. Just read the OP carefully and follow steps. Everything will be ok

The part you are referring to is under the linux instructions. I am running windows.

Guys, I know AMD is the way to go with mining intense coin. I have 2 rx580's, 2 rx570's and 6 vega 64's being shipped to my house soon. I am running a couple of nvidia rigs now and wanted to get started with mining intense. I know they aren't as effective but is it still possible to mine intense with them? I am getting all of my shares rejected using ccminer. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. #newbproblems

Probably you set the wrong algorithm. Should look like this 'ccminer-x64 -a cryptonight ...'

Got it. Thank you sir!

I was mining a bunch of XSH for a few days, around 400-500 per day with nine 1070s, but now am getting less than 200 per day................this is on bigmine pool.  Is there a best pool and best algorithm to use with nvidia cards for maximizing XSH (Shield Coin) profits these days?  I see a lot of people using x17 on the bsod pool.  Is that the best route?

Also, this could be due to the price increase of XSH...............that was a good, solid coin to get in early on.  I only got in a few days ago, so missed a month or two of mining to build up a stake before the big rise.

Are there any other great prospective coins like Shield (XSH) that are in the *VERY* early mining phase, prior to any major runup?  I'm looking to get in at the ground floor before the major bull run happens.

If you want ground floor... BTCZ is a solid project with a lot of potential. The community support behind it is awesome.
