I don't know how often you have been on and off the forum, but I believe I have witnessed a couple of cases where members did the same thing as you did, threads about them were made in reputation board, and they were removed from the campaigns. If I am not mistaken, they even received negative tags so, don't think that you were being witch hunted.
I didn't know it was prohibited by any rule including campaign's rules, and if I know my campaign managers didn't accept that, of course I wouldn't do it. How I could hide it?
If you look at what you did critically without involving emotions, it wasn't the right thing. A brand is paying you to advertise them.
But to be honest, I think many people post like that and it's a rather common practice when you are in a campaign requiring high quality posts.
It still doesn't make it right.
