I have got 5000 out of my about 70000 SILK in the silk network online wallet. This happened a few days after the transfer, problem is i see there is no option to exchange them for SLK.

Guys, please, some assistance.

I am also curious about how to swap my silkcoin to silk from the online wallet

If the Silkcoin was generated/created after the release of Silk then it is not eligible to be swapped. However, if it is Silkcoin you sent prior to the launch of Silk's release to Weaver, then please email contact@silknetwork.org with FAO: Matthew Langdon/Weaver Support

I've been holding silkcoin since 2014. Most of the coins i have were purchased back when I was setting up a multi pool with arti. I still have 30,000 stuck on the old chain. How ever i am considering those gone now.

If created you mean coins earned through staking. Not enough to warrant the full balance void.

I have 15,000 on weaver now. How do I know if they are able to swap? My wallet balance before the creation of silk was 55,000. I have 15,000 of those moved to weaver because that's all i could get out.

Was bittrex going to be the only mechanism for swap? I sure wish that was made clear. People like me who work out of town now and then can't get on all the time. I kept my coin to support the network back when i was getting info on the swap. Instead I feel like i should have sold everything on polo.

I think threshold will be met in due time. It was 78% till last day. Today it is 81%. finger crossed.

Now its 73%. finger crossed  Cry Cry

agreed :/

currently a refund puts me down almost 2BTC with loss of lisk value, around xmas, with nothing to show for it at all :/

tell you what, learned my lesson... if this fails i wont touch it the next time you guys ask
wish you guys would have been more transparent about this situations possibility and what it would mean off the start of the ICO

but then again, you would not have gotten so much investment if it was clear..... Sad   Sad   Sad

sad part is if you would have just asked for a bit less, it could have started, now your looking at destroying any chance of the community backing you in the future (some i bet will lose MORE than me if refunds happen)

smooth

If you get a refund that means you don't lose any coins, jackass.    Oh wait, you mean because you can look now and see that the Lisk price is down and you would have sold all your lisk at a higher price?  bullshit. hindsight is 20/20.  Tongue

ooo, your a slow one , hey? let me explain:

i buy 50k LSK at 25k per coin. costs me 12.5BTC.i give that LSK to the TEC
the TEC is unsuccessful, i get my 50k LSK back, but now the market is at lets say, 18k.
my LSK is worth:  9BTC
12.5 - 9 = ? a LOSS

Do you get it now?

Lisk tanking is not their problem. As the buyer you have to assume some risks...

thts true, but i DO believe there could have been more transparency about this EXACT situation :/
but there's no denying it would have hurt the crowdsale if it was looming over it, i just feel a bit mislead i guess on this one

This is how every ICO works. You send them coins, and you can't use them any more.. You took the risk as an investor to move those lisk into the TEC. It was stated that the goal is 2,000 btc. Open your whale wallet and fund this thing then.
Should they hold your dick while you piss also?

We don't need some kindergarten a + b = c bullshit we all know this. We are shocked that YOU don't get it.

The fucktard reply was good! that made me laugh.

Dark Silk Team,

From just catching up now on on the past couple of pages, I would like to greatly emphasize the importance of follow up, public perception and image.  This is just as equally (and I hate to say it, sometimes, more) important as the development itself- especially in the world of cryptocurrency where a huge part of a project's value is attributed to future speculation and potential.  If I were a new investor looking to invest in new coins and saw the last couple of pages, I would most likely stay away.  I don't mean this in a negative way, but rather in a constructive way.

If you want all the hard work that you've put in to ultimately pay off, you cannot neglect this area.  Perception, image and marketing, is the reason why other coins such as LSK, ICN and AMPs raised millions in crowdfunding and this coin didn't.   I strongly believe in this project, but you must take this area seriously.  If you need to put someone in charge whose sole job is to create the marketing, answer community concerns, then do it.  It will pay off immensely in the future.

Case in point, I still don't see my DarkSik ICO balance updated even though I sent the coins weeks ago.   If a simple balance update can't be performed, it begs to questions, how the more important tasks can be managed.

Again, I don't mean the above in a negative tone, but in a constructive one to emphasize a very crucial part of managing and launching a new coin.

You will likely be chastised for your comments, but nothing that hasn't been brought to their attention before.

I personally had some BTC sitting ready to invest in darksilk but pulled way back as things progressed.

Try running silk network on a mobile. Try getting your silkcoin off the old chain. Umpteen things.

This project has potential if some one can get a hold of public perception and details.

until some one with mature coins stakes we're up shit creek! I closed my wallet until some blocks move. My coins won't mature until then, so it's basically a waste of energy until some one pops up.

I know one way that we may get an old wallet to pop back up on the scene, in fact quite a few may pop up. When I found by pure chance the "new Silk" thread I had no idea that it even existed as I was only checking on "Silkcoin" from "coinmarketcap" link here https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/silkcoin/ and it was locked on page 211 many moons ago and every time i kept looking every couple of weeks or so, I still thought it was dead and noting happening. This link is still showing on coinmarket cap right now and how many others are like me who have no idea as they are not bitcoin forum type of people so to speak.

The link to "Silkcoin old on coinmarketcap" needs to be updated to this new thread asap and we will have some stragglers stumble along for sure. I have a mate who I know has some very old mature coins from years back, but he would have to update his wallet and stuff, but he has a 100,000 odd.
i will contact him tonight.

Can someone change the link on coinmarketcap ?

That would be beneficial for sure, he would move allot of blocks if it's been a while. We just need to move some blocks.

How long does it take for the silkcoin balance to show in my weaver wallet? I can see the silkcoin in my weaver wallet on the explorer but still not in my weaver wallet. It's been a while. a long while in crypto standards.

Unfortunately I know why they won't contact us
Because those addresses I found they all have coins from this one

Next few days I have to trace back more of them in explorer

Funny thing is one of them was staking up to 28th Oct 2016 and did a big confirmed transfer 3 days ago

Was it one of the ones I sent you? Do we know how many coins were lost to the mintpal hack? Looks like close to 9 million coins to me?

Some are still sitting here.

I think I may have broken my daemon to the point that I may need to reboot the vm after I shutdown the daemon, so it may appear to be offline for a bit, hopefully not more than 15 minutes.  What happened is this;

I went back to the original ann for Silkcoin to get the specs;

Specifications
Block time: 1 minute
Maximum POW supply: ~45 million
Difficulty retarget: every block
Stake interest: 2% annually
Min transaction fee: 0.0001 SC
Fees are paid to miners
Confirmations: 10, maturity: 350
Minimum stake age: 12 hours - No max age
P2P port: 16666, RPC port: 16667

I should have looked at the original thread when we first started this.
Because a transaction takes 10 confirmations and then 350 confirmations before mature for staking

Based on that, I created 25 addresses in the daemon wallet and started sending 2 Silkcoins to each address
The first round of 25 worked pretty well, but I got carried away and ran it 2, 3, or 4 more times so I have 75 to 125 transactions processing through the daemon.
Needless to say after finally going to bed and now waking up, the vm is and has been at 100% CPU, more than likely all night long since around 3am

I just stopped the daemon and am waiting for the process to end, then I'll reboot.
I'll post when it's back online

Yeah mate
the old Silkcoin wallet is a resource eater
if I run another one on my PC it just overloads everything and the CPU get's too hot because my thermal paste is gone and the cooling sucks right now
I envy you running 25
so what do we need basically?
more coins, more wallets, more time....Huh

We need coins to mature so that we can stake them. The problem is the 360 confirms to mature. We aren't making allot of blocks right now. So getting 360 confirms is taking for ever.

We need an old bag holder to stake their wallet to move some blocks.

If i send coins to another wallet they will take an additional 360 confirms. So i'm torn. I know more wallets staking will move blocks but we need to move blocks now. So i don't want to move a bunch of silkcoin around.

Sucks man, all the dev team needs to do it stake some coins before they get burnt. Or if they changed the confirms to some thing lower for us, we could at least get the chain moving faster. even 100 or 50 confirms would get us going faster.
They are busy though so i dunno. We're stuck between a rock and a hard place.

The chain might literally be dead. If we don't have old coins to move the chain, ours' stuck staking won't change until they get the 360 confirms.

We will be waiting for some one with a huge wallet to come on and stake..

You guys see what i'm saying? It might need more than just community support to make an "indefinite" swap possible. You can't even really relaunch under legacy silk because there is no one to do things that need to be done.

How else to breath life into the blockchain?

suddenly this thread and the work we are doing seems extra important.

McDev, i can't run an instance on my main box but i'd be willing to get some thing setup to be a dedicated node. I'll pm you when i get a min.

Still no movement from my wallets. I am closing the one for 24 hours to see how that helps the coins mature. Though i feel like the maturity issues will suss out once we get blocks moving regularly.

I have more to post but have to run. i'll get back in here tomorrow.

cheers fellas.

Hey guys,
are I correct in my assertion that staking is required for any movement in the blockchain?

You are correct. If you have some to spare it would help us out if you staked them.

I got the silk you sent ttoroie. I'll send it back with some extra to try and build up that other wallet.

Pondi, that's good your coins are starting to get confirms.

We moved allot of blocks today. Obviously we need a larger balance. Or our coin age is off.
I say that because this wallet hashed most of the blocks today.

https://silkexplorer.silknetwork.org/address/BGR6gHRqRQr4vM6oCN6eJ7mFryHxBh7Xav

My wallet with 33k is still acting funny imo. The coins are old enough to stake but the wallet still says they are not mature.

McDev, how well did the linux install go? If you get it staking nice I was thinking about putting up a dedicated linux one also.

@Pondi

You are on the correct wallet version. Once we get the chain moving again your transaction will get through.
[30/10/2016 5:19:24 AM] Adrian: Status: 0/unconfirmed

The transaction shows 0 confirms, that is what matters. once you have 1 confirm you should be able to look up the transaction on silk explorer. Once you have 10, the deposit is complete to weaver. It's just taking for ever because we are working on getting the legacy chain working again.

@ttoroie @McDev - I rolled back my wallet version to 1.1.1.1 it was the last version that I have, that staking worked. If i am correct we will see a few new blocks in about 10/13 hours.

Both my wallets now say stake reward in that time frame.

Version 1.1.1.2 was staking at all.

Hi, I am the brother of rightousfire, I have finally been able to get access into the forum.

here are the 2 transactions I sent from my wallet that are somewhere out there but not on the blockchain.

[30/10/2016 5:19:24 AM] Adrian: Status: 0/unconfirmed
Date: 29/10/2016 17:57
To: weaver wallet BEBqc1EMgPCthJCpTFpvVPXr2LCJEQVyaw
Debit: -210000.00 SILK
Transaction fee: -0.001 SILK
Net amount: -210000.001 SILK
Transaction ID: 7003eef685821a217096fb870446e5bb4dd9742795de3cdac10868d38bbcba49
[30/10/2016 5:20:04 AM] Adrian: Status: 0/unconfirmed
Date: 29/10/2016 17:59
To: weaver wallet BEBqc1EMgPCthJCpTFpvVPXr2LCJEQVyaw
Debit: -14300.00 SILK
Transaction fee: -0.0003 SILK
Net amount: -14300.0003 SILK
Transaction ID: 0afadf919940c55edb9b7f811053bdfad271c93830e6fcafcd249333b40d7501

I have all of my original balance still in my wallet, wallet was repaired after the above transactions. Are these transactions nulled for good?

Because there are no confirms on it, the transaction hasn't been written to the network yet. Which is why it isn't showing the transaction on the explorer. Once you get a couple confirms you should be able to see it. Once the transaction has 10 confirms it will be confirmed on weaver's end. And considered complete.

I don't think they are gone. I have a few thousand waiting on confirms to hit weaver also. I have been assured they are not lost. Once you see the transaction confirmed on the silkcoin chain SilkNet said they will handle the rest, even if your weaver account isn't showing the total there.

That is why we are trying to get the old chain going again. Lots of silkcoin left in limbo if we don't, and lots of transactions waiting on confirms because of the stalled out chain ATM.

McDev i'll do some more digging to find out about maturity. I thought it also counted when you transacted coins. You can still spend them but i remember some thing about them only being useful to stake after sitting in the wallet for 12 hrs..
Anyways i'll dig up some info to clear things up.

My Wallet is still showing synced but not additional block is showing.  I received a transaction for 40 and am waiting for them to confirm so I can send them back out.  To make it easier for me to bounce coins back to who ever sends them to me, I created individual addresses for those I know are helping to try to keep the chain moving.  If you send coins to me, use the address the I created for you so I can send them back

Crypt0Keeper   B8EVwLRtr7y6Ns8GDh2q5zjVZqq9TvJVXf
digitron             B5eivCPXBnkgfvMLe9pssvmDeT7egJXiNV
Hort              B8YxMcGYpkJNGvhyKUMtU2diM5fF1VzUrt
Raistilin           B9VA6v65SF3Mio3Lsw9y6xDMsuBWFmj5oX
ttoroie      BFb7skXRtnLGA9DPdRASjGEngWwHGG1KSm
Bitcoinasourus   BS27unSvtyZh7PeDwEEVogidt5uBohGStF

I should have thought of this sooner Smiley

I did the same for you, ttoroie and Hort. I can do the same for anyone else wanting to help out. Guess it helps track everything for those who want to.
McDev i sent you 150, when you send it back, send it to the one below so i can keep track better.
I will hold off sending you some ttoroie, if you want to make an address for me.

I have you fellas in my receive list as follows.

McDev - B8vRG1TT8R5spNA3nvVnqfyhQSNsg5rSjd
ttoroie - BG7Y9922npm3PMXHrT7AxGRQNXdRkpqHpf

Also there's already a bounty for what you guys are doing and it's not small at all

Don't understand?

But is anyone else been having issues connecting to BitCoinTalk the last several days?

I'll have to see first how Stormnodes will work to explain better
But someone I helped want's to setup 4 of them for us as a reward to keep the network alive until he gets to his Silkcoin wallet on winter holidays which is on a stick far away in his home somewhere

Problems???   Angry Huh
It took me 3 hours to post this

I've also had problems getting to BTCT. I got a server overloaded error today.

I was thinking about it. Don't we want the coins to mature so we can stake them? I was reading the old silkcoin ann thread. It said 12 hours to mature. So newly transacted silkcoins can only be staked after 12 hrs? therefor only useful to stake and create blocks if mature?

We need wallets staking because those are creating blocks for the transactions.

Correct me if i'm wrong.

Just been wrapping my head around getting the transactions moving faster. I have 33k staking on the one wallet and 1,000 on another. The 1k hasn't got all the 10 confirms needed so i can stake it.
The 33k hasn't made any new blocks in a while.

I also ran checkwallet, and had no error's but i have a TON of orphaned blocks. Repair wallet didn't change the 300 some thing count.

we have enough coins now to move them around between us once a day for now
send me your address if you want to take part and I'll post it on the list
Sorry meant i don't have an address to send you some silkcoin. Found it though. Or is it going to become too many people to manage now?
