-1.

A trusted member doesn't add any value to it.

If its a new board, I can understand. But its not.

As an escrow isn't needed as I am going to pay with a credit card, for a product that does have a P/N and an official warranty I really don't see the point

Do you know the seller ? Have you seen the actual product ? Coz I can't find anything about a "Huawei F100" wether on taobao or JD or alibaba. I even tried with chinese caracters, there's nothing.
Nothing either on huawei's website: https://www.huawei.com/en/search/?lang=en#currentPage=1&resLang=en&searchType=www_all&searchString=f100

Huawei have an FP1 based on VU9P.

When you search for FPGA you can find this:

https://e.huawei.com/en/material/onLineView?materialid=ebe2d58705014697a703bffc5b63cc83

There is F100 adapter.

Another thing is how real this device is and when can be delivered.

No demo, refusing to send a board (that will be shiped back to the company after tests + videos) to a very highly trusted and estimed member, I don't care what the company is, I smell red flags and scam. Period.

Why would we send a board to someone with no experience mining with FPGA or Verilog experience? You need to understand what this is before making accusations. If you don't want to purchase then fine, no-one is forcing you to.

Why would You like to collect money from someone with no experience mining with FPGA or Verilog experience?

We aren't. If you don't know either then please do not buy (or troll). For those who have read up on FPGA mining and looked at our website, we are happy to provide assistance.

hype-hype-hype.
Nowadays ONLY hardware manufacturers and distributors making money in crypto mining sphere.

Our farm is still profitable and FPGAs are still profitable - you can achieve as high as 30 x 1080ti on some algos for 300w or less. Depends how you're doing it I guess

Red flags all over.

Biggest one, they claim to have dev boards but refuse to send one to Phillip to prove they are legit.

No escrow. GL getting money back from empty accounts.

Whitefire-yi reverse psychology, blabla you don't have to buy muh stuff. Shitty attitude. I wouldn't buy from these guys if they were legit.

The only red flag I see is a new BCT account? Is that all that really matters? Forgive me for defending against unsubstantiated claims. Maybe check out our facebook? Or Ebay feedback? How about give me a call? Lets talk Smiley

To be honest, you are kind of wasting your time responding to every criticism and accusation.  Even the guy who runs SQRL has quit updating his thread because its just full of repetitive questions and complaints, and this started before the guy even took money from anyone!  Many people question new vendors (rightfully so) because so many people have been burned by new companies and established companies alike.  You've posted addresses, vat numbers, take credit cards, etc, there is not much more you can do.  Like you said, people either believe you or they don't  Grin Grin Grin Grin

One thing I would say though to help your cause, would to give more specific information as to when these will ship.  Like when you will receive them, are delays anticipated, etc. As Phil said, these things always seem to be delayed!

Yeah you are probably right, I understand that people need to be careful and I am open to criticism as long as not off the cuff. Calling someone a scammer etc... without actually doing any research is just lazy.

Those are fair questions - We have been told that the boards will ship 6 weeks after the group buy has closed. We have said 6-8 weeks to allow for slippage. If we do not deliver within 8 weeks then I will be happy to refund anyone. We have an office in Shenzhen and a director who is very good friends with a Huawei employee, I can't say who for obvious reasons. On this basis we do not expect any major delay.

What about updates?
Monero will fork next month with new algo probably and it should destroy FPGAs...

The beauty of an FPGA is that it’s FIELD PROGRAMABLE!

Any forks will just need a new bitstream. Takes work yes. But not impossible like an ASIC. Very similar to how a fork requires an update to your GPU mining software, it’s no different really.

Can you post us a video of one of your FPGA cards hashing with any of those algo's and maybe "Bithash Mining" on a piece of paper somewhere nearby?

We do not have the dev boards yet. Our dev boards will be sent out around 3 weeks before the rest but there is still a wait on them. Anyone who does FPGA mining will understand where we are coming from.

Heres some fresh pics just for you, mining 0xbtc at 13 GH/s with a modded vcu (same VU9P chip)

I've been looking to buy FPGA but can't help to see red flags:

You said you're not new but your website was made last year and you just pay for one year?

Updated Date: 2018-08-07T21:04:01
Creation Date: 2017-12-17T12:15:26

You said you're in UK but the site is registered in Toronto?

Registrant City: Toronto
Registrant State/Province: ON
Registrant Country: CA

272 Bath St Glasgow G2 4JR, UK takes me to a Virtual Office? Blue Square Offices

I don't want to imply anything but I see somebody trying to hide something, sorry If I offended anybody but I wont give my hard earned money that easily.

PS: Huawei doesn't need merit on the forum but they don't need to sell here either...maybe a joke? Grin

Shopify is Canadian so that would explain that.  They said that they are UK registered, not that they have a big bustling office in Glasgow. This is more than likely to get an EU vat number (which checks out:  http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/)  Its always good to be apprehensive, but if you are going to publish this detective work, you might as well know what to look for first  Grin Grin

Also, you cannot register for VAT unless you meet minimum turnover requirements. We are a genuine company but I understand peoples concerns. With all due respect though - its quite easy to tell whether a company is a scam or not and we certainly aren't.

Of course you have Smiley

The website was created 9 months ago, but we have been trading 3 years. Yes its Toronto, maybe check all of other shopify servers while you're at it?
We also have a farm of our own, we don't give out this address for obvious reasons. Maybe check out our facebook or join the discord server?

If you're genuinely interested in FPGAs why not give me a call? Or if local, how about meet for a Coffee? If not, please keep your hard earned money.

you are pretty new and fpga's have been plagued by delays and outright scams.

I offer my services to you as an escrow agent and I would be willing to demo a product or 2 for you.

I do this for many new builders of gear.

I am USA based and I am very well known on this website.

I offered services to squirrels and the acorn they were going to sell they did not take any aid or help from me and have been plagued by delays.

I would hate for anyone to have these issues ordering preorders from you.
I would also hate for you to be a scammer and selling fake preorders.

We are new to bitcoin talk but we are not a new company.

A group buy works differently to a pre-order. A group buy is effectively one large order placed by lots of smaller buyers in order to get a better price and ensure that a product is made available to those who would not normally have access. This order must be paid upfront. A better option for all parties is not using an escrow, but paying via credit card which offers better protection for consumers even after the products have been delivered. I do appreciate the offer though, anything that protects our community is a good thing, as long as you aren't the scammer of course Smiley

Have you seen his trust reputation? philipma1957 is not a scammer. However you are, until you show proof of your device, and the best way is to send as demo board for review to a trusted member.

It was a joke buddy. I am sure that Huawei can confirm the device or do they need a bitcointalk trust rating too? Smiley (another joke)

Huawei F100 VU9P FPGA Mining Cards now Available

We are proud to announce that we have managed to secure a group buy of 1000 x Huawei F100 VU9P development boards for the community and our private clients. These have the same Xilinx FPGA chips as the VCU/BCU1525 and are expertly manufactured by one of the largest electronics manufacturers in the World - Huawei. We have sold 270 (as of 10th September) to private clients and the rest are now available to the community.

We are a UK registered company that offers crypto currency mining equipment and accessories. Our registered office is at: 272 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2 4JR and our company registration number is: SC582706

Our VAT registration number is: GB288447843

Our Hong Kong subsidiary: Bitronics HK Ltd, registered in Hong Kong, registration number: 1940020, registered since 2013.

You can contact us via telephone: +441412915975 or email: info@bithashmining.com

FPGA boards have been used in secret to give some miners an advantage over others using other general purpose hardware such as GPU's. Thanks to a movement initially started by Whitefire, (See bitcoin talk: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3459858.0) the hardware hidden and used via AWS instances by many, is now available to the community. The community now has several developers working on different bitstreams and mining programs, to ensure that the 'average Joe' can now compete.

In the past, FPGA boards could only be purchased if you own a business and are only available if you make large purchases. Through group buys like this one, we aim to make these boards not only accessible, but also at a much cheaper cost. Through our group buy, and others, we aim to create a decentralized marketplace to even out the playing field. Please note that we do not profit from this first group buy and we only aim to cover our costs so that we can continually build further relationships with manufacturers to ensure that future technology is available freely. Mining is our proprietary business, and we hope that together we can create a truly decentralized landscape open to everyone.

We are currently working on 2 further boards including a smaller FPGA that will offer a great entry level board to those with smaller budgets, and also a powerful FPGA accelerator for GPU's, so watch this space!

We do have a select few developer boards available for those with the ability to develop bitstreams. We have already spoken to some well known developers and agreed to send them boards, but we still have a couple remaining. Please get in touch if you would like to help the community and we can get a board sent to you as soon as the first dev boards arrive.

FAQ:

1. VAT:

VAT is included in the price shown. If you live outside of the EU, please contact us so that we can send a customized link without VAT. If you are a business within the EU and can supply your registered business address and VAT number then we can also sell these to you without 20% VAT. Please e-mail us with your requirements. Full VAT invoices are available.

2. WARRANTY:

The warranty period is 12 months, including water blocks if installed by us. You can purchase an additional 12 months warranty in the accessories section. You must pay the postal charges to send the board back if it is faulty within the warranty period. Normal exclusions apply, such as; heat damage, moisture damage, dropping or any other accidental damage.

3. PAYMENT METHODS

We accept payment via debit/credit card, bank/wire transfer or crypto currency. Please note that larger orders may be declined by credit card. If you wish to utilise credit card protection then we can send an invoice for a small percentage of the total cost and the rest can be paid via another method. This still provides cover for the full amount under European legislation.

4. SUPPORT

We offer our tech guru support service as usual. There is also lots of support available by the community.

5. INSTALLATION

We can install these anywhere in the UK. There is a small charge for small orders or free for larger orders. Please contact us.

6. DELIVERY

Delivery is estimated at between 6-8 weeks.

7.P&P

Postage and packaging costs will be automatically calculated
