If you want to translate some stuff from English to your native tongue or vice versa then go to economy>marketplace>services board. From there look for some bounty programs that offer rewards for translations.
Another place to find some work is bounty hive. Usually they pay you in ethereum for some translations.

Re: How Bitcoin Price Effects Alt Coins Price
by

Really you want to keep a good portion of your portfolio in Bitcoin. To get the best of both worlds you could easily sell part of your portfolio at a loss for some BTC and hold both.
Alt coins should have a strong connection between BTC since people most of the time go FIAT -> BTC/ETH/USDT -> Alts. Bitcoin is always used to buy alts so the price of alts is pretty much always in satoshis and not fiat.

Re: DIMCOIN- HYBRID STOCK EXCHANGE (EQUITY) ON THE BLOCKCHAIN
by

No one can really tell you if you should "invest big" into a project. They can recommend you a project that they favor but it comes down to your choice and your research. Do you genuinely believe that this project has potential? Does it benefit you in any way if you used it? If so go for it. My only tips are don't put all your eggs in one basket and make sure you're able to handle your investment going south. Investments in crypto are risky but can have huge rewards.

If you need somewhere to start with researching DIM I'd say first give their whitepaper a good read. After that check out their official reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/Official_DIMCOIN/
Also be wary that DIM is ranked at number 495 in market cap. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dimcoin/

Hope this helps with your decision and good luck.

How much do market caps impact your choice?
by
Bitminer1224
on 15/06/2018, 02:16:45 UTC
Market cap can easily become the sole determining factor if you're unaware of other factors coming into play to predict whether a coin will grow. Just one example would be the history and skill behind the developers constantly pushing improvements.

Even with knowing that you shouldn't fully rely on the market cap of a coin does it still add bias your choice whether you should invest or not? Such as high market caps being too late to invest in or low market caps too risky to invest in.

Do you think high or low market caps are more lucrative?

Whether it be high or low market caps always stay true to the most important fact in crypto. "Only invest money you can burn."   Happy HODLING  Cool

I personally want to keep investing more into crypto. Just think of it as a sale and buy up some promising coins with what you can afford to lose. Maybe you'll get some nice returns if the market starts going green.

Re: What is BLOCKCHAIN 3.0? Have you heard about it?
by
Bitminer1224
on 28/05/2018, 22:18:01 UTC
Today we're on 2.0 but i don't have an idea about Blockchain 3.0. Any thoughts?

My first thoughts are I haven't heard of Blockchain 3.0 but I have heard of Web 3.0 coming soon.

I went and did a quick Google search on the topic of Blockchain 3.0 and found that Blockchain 1.0 is actually Bitcoin, Litecoin, and all the alt-coins that were there from the beginning. Next is Blockchain 2.0 which are modern alt-coins that delve into privacy, smart contracts, and all that good stuff. So based off of the changes from 1.0 to 2.0 that means 3.0 will require a drastic change in technology so who knows maybe soon some alt-coins will come up with new revolutionized tech that will be labeled as Blockchain 3.0.

(Also you might want to move this topic to the Alt-coins board  Smiley )

Full Circle?
by
Bitminer1224
on 24/05/2018, 02:44:00 UTC
So when bartering was a thing we exchanged goods for goods. Then we created fiat and traded fiat for goods and vice versa. Now we have crypto which we use online as a currency that also has special utilities sometimes. We sort of have to barter crypto. An example would be
"Hey I'll give you 100xcoin for 50ytoken." "Nah I want 20ztoken for 50ytoken."

The main things we trade for though are ETH and good old BTC. So it seems like alt coins/tokens are all the "goods" and BTC and ETH are our big currencies we use to buy and sell goods.

Have we somewhat come full circle? What do you all think? Embarrassed I don't know, it doesn't make that much sense but this sub topic is "Off Topic" so I'm just trying to stir up a silly and weird conversation about crypto. Tongue

Re: Storing 5 years in a wallet?
by
Bitminer1224
on 23/05/2018, 22:21:21 UTC
I bought some bitcoin on Cobinhood. Can I send them now to the desktop wallet of bitcoin.org, and leave it there for 5 years or longer, without caring about it in this timeframe? Or is it neccessary to update the wallet from time to time? What happens when Litghting-Network or a fork is coming, do we have to update something?

As long as you keep private keys, passwords, and seeds saved you wouldn't even need to keep your wallet installed on your PC. You can leave your coins lying around for however long you want since they are stored online on the blockchain rather than in your hard drive. If you do have the wallet installed then updating it really isn't mandatory if you aren't even going to touch for for those five years. If you do want the forked coins you will probably want to install the wallets for the coins being forked. Just make sure to keep the private key, password, and seed backed up somewhere safe (If lost you'll be out of luck and lose access to your coins.) You should be golden then if I'm correct.

Re: Do you think it is fair to save merits for high-quality, low-ranked members?
by
Bitminer1224
on 21/05/2018, 03:46:50 UTC
I don’t  get enough smerits to spend as often as I would like to. This has made me decide that I am only going to give merits to high quality posters, lower ranked members; I won’t give any for Legendary members and maybe not to Hero members either.

I think it is better due to scarcity to save them for people who have a long way to rank up rather than for those who are at the top already and get merits easily.

What do you think about? Do you do the same? Do you think it is fair?

It can be theorized that its better to save up sMerit for lower rank users that "need" it but that's really only one side to it. Its all based on the person who owns the sMerit and what they deem as a good post. As I've read many people on this topic agree that merit should be awarded to posts regardless of rank but by the value of the post. The two values I've noticed are posts that are useful, or posts that give a laugh. Both contain values which are based by the opinion of the owner of the sMerit. I personally think it is fair but it can be hard to be noticed. I say that but I'm sure if a user consistently posts quality then they will get atleast some merit from someone. If that someone has any to send. I usually find myself wanting to send a merit for a post but then realize "I only have one to send. Maybe I should save it for another post."

Re: Should I invest in altcoin now?
by

on 20/05/2018, 14:41:25 UTC
In the current dip situation, I want to put engage some of my savings into alt coins. but it is tough to me to choose the right one. Could you please help me to choose the right one which at least not push me towards FUD?
First make sure you are 100% what you invest you can risk losing. Next go on coinmarketcap and start by researching coins that interest you and you personally think have utility. Create a list and then spread out your money between those coins to create a portfolio. We really can't decide for you but there are a lot of topics on this forum explaining new altcoins. So try to browse around and find a few picks on here that fit your interests. Good luck  Smiley

Re: 100 Days of Merit
by
Bitminer1224

This is actually a great thing that you have reacted so fast to the number of new accounts increasing. Could that be due to bounties as well as they are getting more and more popular and this forum is the main source of it all?

From that perspective, it's a good thing that it's harder to rank up as it will filter the members who are hard working from the competition that spams and doesn't add any value at all. I really believe bounties are the future of work, giving opportunities to people from all over the world to make extra income.

Perhaps it would be interesting to see which sections get the most attention when it comes to giving and receiving merit?

Also, have you considered that a "black market" might emerge... people buying and selling merits OTC? Smiley It sounds silly but who knows...

The system really did work out fabulously. Also that "black market" will definitely be a problem and there is no way it will be tolerated. It would be completely unfair to buy your way up while others have to contribute their time and knowledge to earn their fair share of merit.

Plenty of regret  Undecided But gonna have to get past it and hope for the best in the future. There are a humongous amount of could haves. "I could've bought Bitcoin." "I could have bought ethereum." Man there are so many could haves so might as well buy some btc, eth, some alts, and HODL.  Cool

Well try looking at the history of XVG. There is a lot of talk going around saying it might be a Doge coin fork which may possibly be bad for long term. Don't quote me but if Verge is a distinct currency of its own and has utility then it's your own choice to hold Verge for the long term. HODL what you can risk is all I say.  Smiley

Re: Why to Invest in ICO?
by
Bitminer1224
on 17/05/2018, 03:34:26 UTC
There are several reasons as to why anyone would probably want to buy into an ICO. The main reason I believe is people want to make a quick buck by buying in cheap and hoping the project is a success. Another would be is that they like the idea and want to support it so they buy the ICO to support the developers. Overall people tend to just have some btc that they just throw at a few projects and HODL.  Tongue

Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years?
by
Bitminer1224
on 17/04/2016, 17:08:55 UTC
If you want to live comfortably in retirement, bitcoins are the wrong place to look. Check the history. They've been going down in value all year!

Invest in FacebookCoin or whatever it's going to be called, or maybe just invest in a low cost index fund (since you're talking 20 years down the road).
FacebookCoin? What are you smoking?
Maybe he meant stocks or something? Alts coins for retirement would be more of a risk than btc for retirement.

Re: Mining coins save or sell it?
by
Bitminer1224
on 17/04/2016, 16:50:22 UTC
I save my coins for as long as possible. I sell some of my coins if I see that I can make some money but I never sell all my coins at once. That is just not a smart thing to do. The price can go up at any time when you at least expect it.
yes all depends on the coin. if it looks to have a good project and dev are always updated on the coin. I also dare to hold such coins as long as possible. because usually there is always a high rise.

Yes you right. Like MRAI, this coin is quite good and have well prepared by dev. And the price is good though. I save my MRAI and will sell it when the price is increase so high.
Where do you sell your MRAI? Please tell me. Thank you Cheesy
