I think CoinPayments is a great option too. Crytpo-Crypto only but a whole ton of coins and low fee.

There are so many people out there doing the same thing over and over again. There are currently 90,000 different tokens (https://etherscan.io/tokens) running on just the Ethereum network. This is just down right stupid.

Some people call CoinPayments a scam and don't like the project. But what they are doing is trying to actually do something great. They've built a real digital currency with actual purpose and real tech behind it. At least 80,000 of those token projects are purely here to take your Satoshi's and run.

People are so quick to call companies a scam as soon as they don't like something even if it is completely unrelated to the actual problem they are experiencing. Here we have a guy who is conducting illegal operations and his account is shut down. Kudo's to CoinPayments for doing that IMO. When users are taken advantage of and its brought to their attention they act on it.

You are actually calling CoinPayments a scam when they are only trying to keep users safe and protect them. I hope you can see how ridiculous that sounds.

They spend a significant amount of time trying to prevent this type of behavior. Check out this blog article they just posted literally trying to protect people. https://blog.coinpayments.net/news-features/coinpayments-tips-to-avoid-a-cryptocurrency-scam

I want to ask. In Coinpayments, there is CandyHCoin. Is this coin able to use to pay something through Coinpayments? Please answer mine, I'm so want to know about this. Thank you

I would assume that you need to talk to CoinPayments about enabling the payment feature. It's gotta be up the the coin to allow the processor, the merchant to opt to accept that coin and the customer to want to pay in that coin.

I so much wanted to hope the damn shop was not a scammer! But look into the topic with the continuation (see link above), even the crypto payment processor has already closed the scammer's account at their service due to customer complaints

Also, it's good to hear that CoinPayments has closed their account once brought to their attention. I don't think it is fair to call CoinPayments a scam because of this incident.

So, I am absolutely right saying that the CoinPayments IS indeed both worthless and useless! Any third party in a payment is valid only when they are a guarantor (insurer) of the transaction, otherwise they are just useless intermediaries.

I believe that to be incorrect.

Maybe I'm biased as I have been using the CoinPayments platform for years and know the team personally. However, they are a good company who has been in operation for 5 years working hard to build a platform for the altcoin community. There will always be problems with the illicit use of cryptocurrencies and other methods of value transfer, especially when there is a lack of oversight. CoinPayments is not a marketplace which monitors vendors but a service provider enabling merchants to accept payments in 450 currencies.

They charge a very small fee unlike paypal and other payment gateways. They pass that savings onto the merchant/purchaser and don't take in enough revenue to monitor each and every payment that flows through the system. Think of it like sending payments to any blockchain wallet instead of like an amazon or ebay.

Some ways to protect yourself in the future.

Make sure to check merchant's feedback before purchasing, do research on the store for reviews on social media and other places, even try contacting the merchant beforehand. General rule, If someone is selling something that sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Make sure to use the feedback feature to help rate the merchants accordingly. Always stay vigilant when shopping online! Please be careful, completed transaction funds can't be reversed. If you still wish to purchase from a merchant you do not know, please do not buy the most expensive thing in their store, start with something you can afford to lose if it does not work out. We can't prevent all scams, but with enough people making educated decisions, we can deter scammers together.

Never send money to someone with no track record/review. You wouldn't hand $100 to a random person on the street, why would you do it online?

As a Bitcoin newbie myself I recommend for you to do some research on different types of Bitcoin wallets such as:

Cold wallets & hot wallets
All wallets are classified as either hot or cold. One that is connected to the internet or
is online is said to be "hot". On the other hand cold implies it is offline/disconnected.
Deskop wallets
Designed to be downloaded and used on laptops and personal computers.
Mobile wallets
Using phones for most tasks days and bitcoin wallets tailored for your smartphone is therefore very convenient.

I like the Coinomi Wallet for hot wallet. The only thing that scares me is that I don't trust myself to not do something stupid like screw up my passphrase, lose my phone or get hacked.

I also have a Trezor Wallet but it doesn't have all the coins I hold available so it's very secure but kind of limited.

CoinPayments is what I generally use for hot wallet because they have 2fa, host all my coins and can help me if i don something like forget my password or need to do a recovery. I just feel better using someone who knows what they're doing and it's free which is a bonus.

Cheers,

It's pretty easy to setup the payment gateway if you're using one of the common ecommerce platforms like Shopify, Woocommerce or Magento.

I would suggest going that route first before getting deep into the APIs, too much potential for making mistakes.

Also, once you have everything setup make sure you test everything using their Litecoin Testnet (LTCT). You can request this coin with no value for free for testing purposes to see when payments come through and how they are logged/reported.

Good luck!

Wonderful - Thank you guys. I appreciate the input.

CoinPayments -Wallet Service, Payment Gateway

Hi guys,

I've been keeping quite a bit of funds in my CoinPayments.net wallet since they accept a lot of coins that others don't (yes i know you should not keep funds online). So far they have been great and no complaints.

I have a little business and want to start using them for crypto payments. Has anyone used them as a payments gateway successfully and do you like their service? Secondly, should i use them directly through their Merchant API or should i integrate through Shopify or Woocommerce?

Thank you.

Hi CPS Team, one last question,

we say i buy Cps coin for 500k$ , i hold for a year and u saying i will recive 25% 125k$ valued of CPS coin so in 1 year i will have 625k$ of CPS coin??? after that if i want to convert all this CPS coin back to fiat wont be possible??!! If i invest i want to know how i will be able to have the money i gained back in my hands fisicly?

Hi cryp1,

I don't know exactly how it works but you may get more than $625k if the CPS coin compounds monthly.

On the conversion back to FIAT, like all tokens, unless an exchange or settlement provider adopts the coin, FIAT settlement would not be possible. I would think one of the bigger exchanges is going to pick this one up shortly but not getting any guarantees from CoinPayments. Their position is that this is a Utility token for use on the platform. After a year, its anyone's guess.

Good project with a real company and product behind it. Hell of a lot better than the empty claims of so many.

Long time CoinPayments user here. You guys are doing great things for the advancement of crypto! Too bad a lot of the crypto noobs think that you're responsible if they send BTC to an ETH address or if they send crypto to the wrong address and expect you to get a refund for them.

No refunds in crypto all you noobs!

You are in charge of your own funds so make sure you triple check the details of your transaction!

If the network fee is higher than the amount you're sending, what's the point!

OK, venting over.

Keep up the great work CoinPayments!

CoinPayments is a legit company. I’ve been using their services for years and never a problem. As a merchant they’re great because you can just use their shopping cart and not have to worry about building your own payment system and wallet. Works great for users who just want to store or convert coins too.

As stated above, if you are converting a super small amount you won't have enough funds to cover the gas/miner fee and third-party conversion fees so don't bother.

When staking the coins on the CoinPayments platform, I understand that there is a 25% annual return. Do I get the coins paid out monthly or how will that work? Are they automatically paid into my wallet or do I have to do something?

Compounding effect makes a big difference when we're talking large volumes.

Returns paid out daily on 1000 CoinPayments Coins compounded over one year: 1284 CPS
Returns paid out monthly on 1000 CoinPayments Coins compounded over one year: 1281 CPS
Returns paid out yearly on 1000 CoinPayments Coins compounded over one year: : 1250 CPS

Re: [SCAM ALERT] CoinPayments.net / Changelly

I lost my BTC on CoinPayments.net they have exchange partner Changelly.
After several emails they say they do not give me the BTCs.
I tried to exchange BTC (0.00393854) approximated 30 USD and they say (CoinPayments.net and Changelly) that the value is less than the minimum value.
I received no warning to warn that the value was low.
I directly used the balance of my CoinPayments.net wallet and the convert button was visible.
Without the minimum value the convert button does not appear.
I simulated an exchange the next day and the minimum value was 0.000693 much smaller than the amount I wanted to exchange.
Changelly stopped responding to the email.

Luis

Luismendescoin,

There appears to be no basis for you claim and (as per BTC requirements) all accusations require some form evidence including TX ID, Addresses, dialogue with support.

CoinPayments is a good company. They have been around since 2013 and I have never had a problem.

...  Basically what happened here is that you sent a payment directly to the scammer. Coinpayments doesn't actually control the keys here.

Basically if I had not been misleaded by the coinpayments.net payment gate (and as an ordinary person I had the right to think that the participation of a third party is primarily necessary to protect the transaction from fraud and not just for technical convenience of shop's employees) I would have never bought anything directly from those damn scammers

Ignorance of what coinpayments does does not make them complicit.  They are just the middle man.  It's like blaming the ATM when if you were mugged on the street.

Completely agree. This is crypto and CoinPayments is not responsible for where and how you send your money. It's the same as if I put up a bitcoin address, say I'm selling miners at half the going rate and you send it. Its a decentralized market and you are responsible for your own actions.

CoinPayments has always been one of the good guys. They do their best to provide a payment gateway which services a decentralized industry. This is the beauty and the downfall of cryptocurrencies. You, as a user of the system, must protect yourself and be wary of all interactions in this space.

I'd like to provide here an abstract from my dispute with the support desk at https://www.coinpayments.net payment gate.

Here:

Coinpayments.net Support
Quote
..I'm sorry to hear of this trouble, but the bitcoin network is designed to make chargebacks impossible. Coinpayments never has access or control of a user's bitcoins in any way, which means only the end user has 100% control over his own bitcoins. This means we have no power to stop or reverse a transaction for you.

Me:
Quote
Dear Mr Data (this is how he introduced himself to me),
I know and fully understand what you say.
I just cannot see ANY SLIGHTEST sense in your being as an intermediary payment processor between sellers and buyers. With the same "success" one could just pay (after intense praying) directly on any seller's website. The meaning of any payment gate (processor) is to provide a kind of PROTECTION against fraud to both buyers and sellers. You provide NO protection at all!!!
The problem is NOT the crypto payments are irreversible! The problem is YOU have done nothing to be a honest reliable intermediary by, for example, holding payments in YOUR OWN temporary wallets for SOME time after deals EXACTLY to be able to resolve such disputes!!

Coinpayments.net Support
Quote
You are thinking of an escrow service, not a payment processor. If you want to operate that way you would want to contact sellers beforehand and ask them to use our sister site SetEscrow.com for your transaction instead of a regular CoinPayments payment. Our purpose as an intermediary is to provide an easy to integrate payment system for merchants without them having to run coin daemons on their own insecure and/or more expensive servers or develop custom solutions for themselves. We also provide the feedback system to help buyer's gauge the honesty of the seller.

Me:
Quote
A regular buyer cannot, and has not to, understand such nuances!
And what "running coin daemons" are saying about??
ALL a seller has to do is just provide his bitcoin address ONLY!!! He doesn't have to run any "daemons"!!!
Just go to site http://www.bitcoinqrcode.org/ or any similar one , and generate a picture from his address and place it in his shop near the address itself.
NO daemons or wallets needed!!! A seller can create  just a watching wallet to monitor his addresses and users' payments

So, do NEVER consider crypto payments as trusted or more reliable, or protected in a way (like I was thinking), if a shop suggests crypto payments with a gate like that worthless useless https://www.coinpayments.net/

CoinPayments has always been one of the good guys. They do their best to provide a payment gateway which services a decentralized industry. This is the beauty and the downfall of cryptocurrencies. You, as a user of the system, must protect yourself and be wary of all interactions in this space.

I am newcomer and very interested about bitcoin. I need a wallet before I am purchase some bitcoin. What is the best and most secure bitcoin wallet?

Your suggestion is very important to me

I really like the CoinPayments Wallet service. They're a merchant payment solution but their wallet is the best online for storage of Altcoins. They've been around since 2013, integrated with Shopify, Woocommerce and Coinbase.

They have about 450 coins, support trezor, google 2FA and i hear the ledger nano is coming soon as well. Very secure and have the most coins supported by far.

@KindHearted

No, I wasn't registered agent (yet), but my intention was to expand business and go entirely legal way.
I agree that they should give me some time frame as the real company should do. For example, PayPal would give the option or at least they have the clear time frame to release funds. But here, there is nothing like that.

@Lionel

I think I won't trust any of the merchants again. Recent "adventures" with coinpayments, btc-e, poloniex which is denying to verify my account for nearly three months now lowers my trust for any of the "companies" dealing with BTC.

The best option would be to make your gateway. You don't need to have your computer turned on 24/7. You can always get some VPS server or dedicated server to act as your payment gateway. I think the good idea is to get "verification" before your business goes online. What I mean is sending the merchant your address and asking if they can check if it's ok with their ToS. If they are ok with that, you will have some proof that they agreed to work with you.

Lol ^This guy georgeso^

He's conducting illegal business, with "intention...to expand business and go entirely legal way" while running an HYIP. BTC-e and poloniex won't give him an account and he's calling CoinPayments a pure evil scam.

I feel really sorry for this guy.

In other news, CoinPayments is a great company and I have been working with them for years without problem. One of the oldest in the industry and constantly improving their services. Thumbs up!

COINPAYMENTS PAYS BACK ALL RIPPLE! TRUST RESTORED!

Official Press Release from CoinPayments

On June 5th, 2017 a Ripple theft occurred on the CoinPayments platform due to an error that allowed a few users to withdraw excessive XRP from hot wallet XRP accounts. Due to the rarity of the circumstances, this issue was difficult to detect. CoinPayments has done a full review of our systems and added additional checks and protections to ensure similar issues do not occur again in the future.

This isolated incident was the first of its kind on our platform and affected only ripple wallets which were not taking advantage of our long-term coin storage solution, the Vault. The people who exploited the glitch were not hackers, but other long-term users of our service who made errors or chose not to report the discovered issue and ended up withdrawing other clients’ XRP. Their detailed personal information was collected and they were all contacted to return the funds immediately, while we worked diligently with local and international authorities.

This was NOT a "hack" and CoinPayments did NOT steal anyone's money. This was an isolated incident occurring for the first time in the 4- year history of operation and was specific to the XRP technology integration.

In December 2017, after a long and arduous 6 months, our team at CoinPayments is proud to announce completion of the reimbursement for ALL stolen Ripple (XRP) coins from the CoinPayments Ripple theft. We have remained dedicated to our initial statement and compensated ALL users in FULL for their losses in XRP balance. We have completed a complex back-end rebuild including multiple new safety measures and protocols to ensure this issue never occurs again.

CoinPayments is committed to setting precedence and prosecuting individuals to full extent of the law for abusing our services. We continue to work diligently with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police along with international authorities in France, the Netherlands, Russia and other cooperating countries to complete the long and tedious prosecution of all perpetrators who didn’t return the stolen funds.

We are excited to move forward with integrity and transparency and greatly appreciate all of your patience and support throughout this process.

Sincerely,
Your team at CoinPayments, Inc.
