I haven't seen anybody post about what would be my biggest worry if I were trying out alternative block chains. I realize this may be perceived as "Gavin is FUD'ding anything that isn't bitcoin!"  (FUD == Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt)  But I think some of you might be forgetting some basic computer security fundamentals in the excitement to be early adopters.

When I first heard about bitcoin, my questions were:

1) Can it possibly work (do the ideas for how it works make sense)?
2) Is it a scam?
3) If it is not a scam, could it open my computer up to viruses/trojans if I run it?

I answered those questions by:

1) Reading and understanding Satoshi's whitepaper.  Then thinking about it for a day or two and reading it again.
2) Finding out everything I could about the project.  I read every forum thread here (there were probably under a hundred threads back then) and read Satoshi's initial postings on the crypto mailing list.
3) Downloaded and skimmed the source code to see if it looked vulnerable to buffer overflow or other remotely exploitable attacks.

If I were going to experiment with an alternative block-chain, I'd go through the same process again. But I'm an old conservative fuddy-duddy.

If you want to take a risk on a brand-new alternative block-chain, I'd strongly suggest that you:

1) Run the software in a virtual machine or on a machine that doesn't contain anything valuable.
2) Don't invest more money or time than you can afford to lose.
3) Use a different passphrase at every exchange site.

investing in crypto is not as easy as we imagine when getting big profits and investing in the crypto world is the same as investing in other fields, it has a big risk, and of course in investing we have to really understand and master every area we invest in because otherwise of course it will only result in losses for us, before investing in crypto it is better for us to know in detail about the crypto world, not just calculating profits.

I would rather invest in real state instead in crypto for me.   i dont know what other people will do ,cause some will say  that crypto is the biggest opportunity thats why everyone should invest on it. 

If An buy Crypto there is nothing late. Because we can start trading at any time. Buying Crypto does now look easy and this is done to make it easier for everyone to trade. For the impact of the ease people buying crypto will certainly have a positive impact. It will also increase the trade volume increasingly larger.

Yeah, my expectations! Well first of all, I expect the world to return to 'normal' because this 'new normal' is by no means 'normal' to me.

My expectation for upcoming year is pump, pump, pump but I know this is impossible. Let the entire world start using BTC from big to small industries, hospitals, hotels, shopping malls, entertainments starting making payments in crypto and more exciting things happen. I believe at least few countries plan for all these stuffs let it grow deeper and deeper. Pump and dumps are it's nature but using BTC should grow more that's my expectation.

indeed investing in cryptocurrency will be profitable if we can choose a good altcoins to invest,
but if not we will lose a lot of money in cryptocurrency my friend, remember risk will always come side by side with reward

shitcoins have always been dumping.

whenever the bitcoin trading volume is higher it is a good indication that the money is exiting the altcoin market as everyone keeps selling their coins. obviously the biggest coins take the biggest hit.
