ICO Delay Announcement

To my disappointment we will have to delay the ICO for another 12 hours, due to miscommunication, The Bittrex team thought that we are  going to hold the ICO in the evening. And due to the fact that at their place is only 9am they are only starting the work day.

We set a new timeframe, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

The new timeframe: The fundraiser will last 18 days, beginning April 18, 2016  09:00 PM PDT (00:00 EST) and run until May 5, 2016 (09:00 PM PDT) 00:00 EST

Hi everyone,

I also wanted to apologize for the miscommunication.  As mentioned, we usually launch markets in the evening because we're busy heading to the office andor answering support tickets in the morning.  I didn't catch the mistake until I was asked about the launch an hour ago.

Omnicoin is no longer officially supported on HackForums.net, however, myself and another former member of the official development team have plans to keep the coin going. We're going to start working on Omnicoin-related projects over the course of the next few weeks.

Hi,

OMC is scheduled for delisting from Bittrex because the volume is low and the blockchain has not been generating blocks regularly.  If you'd like to keep the coin on Bittrex, please contact us at support@bittrex.com

Re: [ANN] $XQN Quotient Financial Network | PoW Scrypt, PoS Blake-256 | UPDATE NOW
by

on 20/02/2015, 06:33:34 UTC
Hi,

there is some confusion as to what happened with this tick so I'll explain.  The BTC volume in the tick is an approximation that takes the average of the opening and closing price of the tick and multiplies it by the amount of XQN that was sold  The XQN volume of the tick is accurate but because of the wild price change of the tick, the BTC volume was horribly skewed.

50,533.33 XQN were sold in that tick and the avg price was (1 + .00009999)/2 ~= 0.5 BTC.  If you multiply that together, you see why the chart thinks the BTC was 25000 BTC volume in that tick.

Sorry for the confusion.  We'll be fixing this in a future update to the site.
Bill

The 25k btc volume must be an error then. What those guys did, if true, is almost too stupid to believe. Were they on a massive coke binge?

Who is more stupid, the guy who spent 25 btc to get 50k coins or the guy who sold me 60k coins for 2-3 bitcoins a week ago?

25k btc is like 6 million bucks? i doubt that someone puts such amount of money on an exchange Wink
Me neither, that's why I assumed it to be Bittrex btc. I don't understand why the listed volume is so far off of what actually occurred, it had me very confused.

About the stupid comment I wish I hadn't said that, as I made some good profit from the spike - let me change it to thanks to whoever did it and hope you don't take too much of a hit.
25k BTC isn't big deal  for team if they like to double or triple they investment. Lets say if somebody have  60 or 70 mill budget to invest money for 50 or 60 % in few weeks .As far I remember
most people call as ( early bitcoin miners) that we're stupid .But after while those stupid guys turn to be an millionaires and for sure today  nobody call them stupid. Conclusion IMO that wasn't a single guy but group of smart guys and probably we will have answer very soon .Because BTC price will skyrocket after first quarter of fiscal year  and we all know that first quarter of fiscal year is ended at March 10 . 4 -pm
Lets see.. Who is right.   Grin

Bittrex had no problem adding CRACK... Lol
Good stance.. Crack is much better than meth?

LSD, DOPE etc etc

Bittrex' standards seem arbitrary.

I think the METH analogy isn't quite accurate in this case.  Gimp is a derogatory term for a disabled person.  While we like joke coins and freedom of speech, this could be considered derogatory and we've decided to draw the line on it.

In regards to METH, this was a personal favor I asked from the other members of Bittrex to not list.  I've personally had friends go through terrible struggles due to the drug and decided to not have it listed even as a joke.

I apologize if our standards seem arbitrary.  Our stance is to reject very few coins from our exchange.  Most coins don't make it because we don't have time to list them all.  In the few cases we've recently chosen to not list, it came down to a few areas.  1) potential unlicensed securities 2) coins whose purpose are to redeem drugs that are considered illegal in the united states 3) and in this most recent example, derogatory terms.

IANAL so please don't construe this as legal advice.

As many of you are aware, there has been increased scrutiny by the SEC around unregistered securities. After working with our legal counsel, this was one of the areas they raised as a red flag so we changed our policies around coin launches. The change to CHASH was requested directly by Bittrex to protect the coin and ourselves.

Developers are encouraged to discuss the legality of their coin with their own counsel.  If you have specific questions about our policy, please email me directly bill@bittrex.com.

Dime is at risk of being delisted from Bittrex unless it sees increase in Volume there!!

" This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on Aug 22nd unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.1 BTC."

Dime has been pinned at 1 litoshi and I think that prevents trading of it.  What do you guys think about us moving it to a BC-DIME market?

TEK. It's been around for a while. It trades good, and it's only on Cryptsy. This needs to change.

I also agree with TEK, and I vote for TES also.

We used to have TES but no one traded it on Bittrex.  TEK is interesting and we'll consider it in the future.

seriously, you must have 5 hero/senior members to vote for you coin.

exchange requests here to get 5 votes on coins, GO!

The tweet was very specific about UNO, ADN, and DGB.

I'm curious about a couple of things.
1) Senior members of BCT are some of the elder statesmen of the alt-coin community.  Are respected members of BCT willing to put their reputations on the line for coin devs?
2) Does that impact the market?

This becomes as serious as you want it to be.

so its a 3 btc req. for 30 days but u guys base delistings on the last 7 day average.

so a coin that has 1000 btc on its first day for a 33.3 btc per day average for 30 days can be delisted on day 9?

haha. maybe someone needs to go back to the drawing board on this one.

i know u guys think altcoins are moving fast but nothing moves that fast.

this doesnt even allow for a coin to have a few bad weeks on a good month.

u guys seems to be heading in the direction of one day pump coins tbh  Grin

Every coin we add gets 2 weeks on the exchange regardless of volume.  Anyone who pays for a sponsor ad gets a guaranteed 30 days on the exchange regardless of volume.

its a ludicrous formula. the 30 day average can exceed 4 7 day averages by incredible margins.

there is no hurry to list and delist coins this fast. certainly one big day will generate more than enough in fees to host the coin daemon for a month.

sorry dudes but u have jumped the shark in july.  Grin

I appreciate your feedback.  I think you can go back through the long history of this thread and our actual cut list to see that our policy creates a candidate list of coins to remove and we take in community comments and concerns before actually removing a coin.  You'd be surprised at how few coins we actually remove that meet the criteria we set out.  No deletion is ever automatic but we've found that the 0.1 BTC volume is a good starting guide.

"We look for coins that have high community demand, innovations to crypto-coin technology, or a contribution to science and humanity."

get real  Grin (concealcoin, spartacus, aegiscoin, for god's sake - just to name a few)

btw, how much volume does a coin have to do to stay listed?

your listing requirements should really be available on your site.

seems like you guys are 'winging it.'

There's a pretty big point people miss when they criticize us adding so many coins to Bittrex.  I don't know of any system to determine if a coin will succeed or fail before we put it on the exchange.  If I did, I'd day trade instead of work on our exchange.

The first 2 parts of the statement are about community demand and innovation.  When we see a lot of requests for a coin in my bct inbox, twitter, and support alias that is usually a signal that people want to trade it.  Who am I to judge what people want to trade?

We also try to take chances on new business models and algorithms.  We had coins like URO, CLOAK, RZR, NAUT, etc. etc. long before any other exchange did.  We didn't know if they would be successful, but they were interesting enough to get added and let the market decide.  And for every one of those interesting coins that succeed, there are a number of coins that don't.

The last bit about contributions to humanity is an extremely tricky one.  Almost every "donation" based coin we've been asked to add has turned out to be a scam.  We prefer coins that directly use hash power towards scientific efforts like CURE coin.  And before you suggest GridCoin, yes we are looking at it.  And No, it isn't being added until we get more clarification from the dev team.

Right now, we're looking for 0.1 BTC of daily volume averaged across a 7 day period.  That doesn't cover the cost of each market, but it is enough to show us there is interest in the coin.  We also throw bad blockchains or coins abandoned by devs into the list of coins we remove.

Bittrex-Bill,

I saw on Bittrex that the Mazacoin (MZC) market is in danger of being delisted.  I strongly encourage you to reconsider.  I realize that volume is very low, but I can assure you that the Mazacoin dev team and the mazacoin community is actively working to increase interest and trading in Mazacoins.  Mazacoin has been through some difficult times, but there is a new developer and some new members in the community that are dead set on keeping this coin viable.  Please allow some time for the upcoming resurgence in interest in this coin!!

I've spoken to the MazaCoin dev for quite awhile.  Very solid developer.  Our warnings are meant to be friendly reminders right now. Unless there is a date associated with the notification, we aren't going to pull the market.

We look for coins that have high community demand, innovations to crypto-coin technology, or a contribution to science and humanity.

SLR - Solarcoin - please dont remove this, there is a lot more to come.!

http://www.solarcoin.org/

For the time being, Solar Coin is safe.  We reserve 20-30 markets for long term projects and hope that Solar Coin will succeed given more time to grow.

I checked carefully on the announce page to see if JackpotCoins (JPC) would be disabled and it wasn't there.

But it was disabled nonetheless, why is that?

How may I recover the jpc I had in my account?

We periodically shutdown the JPC wallet because of maintenance.  It unfortunately needs more than most.  When its down for short maintenance like a wallet restart, we may not post the reason why its down.

If there is a problem with the wallet which will take hours to resolve (like a fork), we will post.
