Do we see any of the Chinese distributors actually shipping blades yet? Seems like people are leaving ASIC to buy into the AMC rage thats going on. Could pick up some shares on the cheap. Likely to see a few weeks of huge divs.

No, the Chinese distributors do not have the new blades yet, they are just pre-selling them.

Re: What are the best ASIC miners and how do I sell my bitcoins?
by

There is only one company that has actually developed ASIC mining hardware that they are capable of shipping: ASICMINER. Avalon has delivered a good percentage of their pre-orders, but they are only selling bulk chips now.

Every other company currently claiming to sell ASIC devices is taking pre-order money and hoping to be able to develop the chips in the future, ie the BFL strategy. KNCMiner for example can claim to be as efficient as they want, like BLF did at first, as they have not actually produced working devices yet.

Well, that news should push share price down a bit in the time being...I thought I read somewhere that Friedcat is putting out the financial report on the 23rd.  Am I wrong on that?  My guess is that it is anticipated to be good news, since it's coming out right before dividends.

23rd at the latest, he has said.    Smiley

Got some news
1.The will be a delay due to the issues of  New&Mini blade's power supply.Kind like 30th,this month.
2.And there will be a fixed price.Of course, you can get refund for the pre-order.

Does anyone know who this person is and what he is talking about? ASICMINER has not taken any pre-orders, have they?

Just a side note, AMC-PT has 1000BTC more 24h volume than ASICMINER-PT on BTC-TC!

That is freaking amazing. Ok, if we were not on Friedcat's radar before today, we are now!

Friedcat mentioned AMC in the last Quarterly report.

Just in case people aren't clear about this... you are talking about the unofficial quarterly report created by forum member/investor Franktank. It was not created by friedcat or ASICMINER, so they didn't mention AMC, Franktank did.

THIS IS THE OTHER AM

AM Launches The Worlds Fastest Bitcoin Mining Machine At 24.576 TH/s

SPRINGFIELD, MO, - July 16, 2013 - Active Mining (AM) and Virtual Mining Corporation (VMC) are announcing today the launch of the "World's Fastest Bitcoin Mining Machine".  The Fast-Hash-One configured with 6 expansion cases and 96-256 GH/s bitcoin hashing cards makes  it the Worlds fastest bitcoin mining machines hands-down. The machines use the "World's Fastest Bitcoin Mining Chip" the Fast-Hash-One 28nm 16 GH/s chip. The Fast-Hash-One machines starts at 256 GH/s with a retail price of $3,999 or $15.62 per GH/s also making it the price leader in the market place. The Fast-Hash-One series of bitcoin mining machines are "The Gold Standard Of Bitcoin Mining Machines"™

The Fast-Hash-One is available at:

http://www.virtualminingcorp.com
I don't understand the strategy of various companies right now to provide pre-orders for products deliverable in 4 months at huge discounts when compared to CURRENT difficulty. Why don't they just wait until they have a product to sell and sell it at premium prices?

The uncertainty the miners have to go through when placing such an order is mind staggering. I cannot escape the conclusion that either these offers are of the same kind as from butterfly labs (dishonest, offloading delay risk) or their pricing is such, that they expect more return on their product when asking for the money now (dishonest, charging too high).

Of course there is also the slight chance that they haven't figured out proper pricing yet. Buyer beware.

The fact that the operator is outbidding HIMSELF by BTC5 for ads to sell more pre-orders should not induce confidence in those who have put faith in that operation.

It's not free, people pay with the content of their phone calls.

Also, i can press 'record' on my phone and get the same thing?

I love all forms of Bitcoin-related enthusiasm, but I have to agree with this. If a phone doesn't have the ability to easily record a call, there's an app for it I'm sure. I don't see the advantage your service provides.

Re: avalon asic miner gets 100gh, 110 overclocked. would anyone be interested?
by
BlackLilac Jordan
on 17/07/2013, 01:30:04 UTC
I found someone selling this device for 30k. I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in letting me host the machine if they purchased it. I would only want 15 percent of the profit and I would pay for electricity. I know I'm only a junior member but if we did do this, I would verify social networks, email, id, and address. Not trying to scam anyone! I have about 120 asic usb miners myself and I'm just fascinated with the whole concept of mining. 30k for a upgradded avalon that perfoms 110ghs. I pay for all electricity and only want 15% of the profit. If it sounds like something you might be interested in pm me or comment. thanks

You would be better off trying to sell it flat out IMHO, you will get a good price for it.

I would guess that no one is going to take you up on a deal like you are offering, your fees are too high and the purchaser would have to take the added risk that you will be able to host and maintain the rig for a year without issue.

i've been trying to buy USBs for a week, the backorders everywhere (direct, btcguild, group buys) are getting really annoying. As a shareholder, I hope we can ramp up supply soon.

My psychic powers are telling me that you will hear news this week that will make you very happy.    Wink

Thanks for the advice everyone.    Smiley

Find web hosting servers closest to you. If you live in ny, find servers in ny, if you lovein Boston, find Boston servers etc.

That's really good advice, and what I ended up doing. I have set up servers with both Peer1 and Site5, which both have offices and datacenters in Vancouver, where we are based. So far both have been great with support, prices, and speed. I will update this thread with reviews of my experiences with them in case anyone is interested.

Would you take half Bitcoin/half USD, or are you only interested in a 100% Bitcoin transaction?

Please PM or email me some pictures. I am not a tire kicker, I am in the market for an additional property. I do already hold over $500,000 USD worth of Bitcoins.

Re: Ransoms and mixers
by
BlackLilac Jordan
on 14/07/2013, 02:52:41 UTC
Rather than blacklisting coins or anything along those lines I would prefer to see the major mixers (blockchain.info, inputs.co, etc) at some point develop a system to work with law enforcement and courts to prevent the mixing of coins that have been used in serious or violent crimes. Anonymity is a crucial aspect of Bitcoin but at some point there will have to be more co-operation between law enforcement and corporate Bitcoin services and exchanges.

Whatever the tor mixer is called (bitcoinfog?) that is used almost exclusively for the silk road will never comply, and competition will arrive that does not use any system like this. Some mixers could be created by criminals themselves fairly easily. However I believe that providing some system of regress or  tracking for coins used in crimes such as those theorized in this thread is likely, if not inevitable among Bitcoin businesses that wish to operated legally in most countries.

The amount of kicking and screaming is going to play a large part in determining just where this train is taking us. I invite you to contemplate a universe in which MPOE-PR's forum nickname is WorldBank-PR or IMF-PR.
I... don't think so.

Most rude people and trolls behave this way because they are protected by the pseudonimity of the Internet: if their identity was matched to a real world entity, I doubt many of them would still behave this way.

Totally right.

Re: The price of New Blade and Mini Blade was announced by rockxie
by
BlackLilac Jordan
on 13/07/2013, 09:47:48 UTC
Seems like FriedCat is having the COMMUNITY pants down over these blades and selling them to us mugs at twice the price he is offering in mainland China:

Here is a nice 130Gh/s rig for sale at RMB 39999

Here is a translation using google translate:

Price: ¥ 39999.00
     Logistics Freight:
Shanghai | to National Express: ¥ 15.00 seller promises delivery within 24 hours
     30 days sold: 1
     Average price: No rating
     Baby Type: New 4281 views
     Payment:

         Quick payment online banking payment

Someone to pay the consumer card balances Alipay payment outlets
         Unfold

39999 Yuan or RMB is approx USD 6500 ( FOR 10 x 10Gh/s BLADES but can give 130Gh/s) which is being offered to us chumps at 18.9 BTC each blade?

dont see anything there about it being a deposit, seems like full price to me and delivery within 24 hours.
Please tell me I am wrong and FriedCat is not shafting everyone who does not live in China.
I will boycot this and start buying my ASIC's from some of the independents. There seem to be more and more popping up each day and cheaper too.

cheers,
kev

I've never used the website so I can't comment on that, but the operator (Ascension) has a good reputation in the Bitcoin community. I have provided loans to this business and Ascension has always paid them back on time or early.
