Since the plugin doesnt work anymore for minecraft, how do I actually go about with BOSEconomy with the deposit and withdrawals?

On spendlitecoins.com we have the players deposit and withdraw through our website. There are a number of ways to do it this way depending on how technical you want to get. I would recommend using php/mysql but you wouldn't really have to.

Cryptsy has announced that they are keeping this coin.

Also.  Is anyone here playing minecraft and using the currency?  If this currency gets accepted as the best economic plugin, that would be huge.

I would market it in minecraft, but I don't play the game.

There are 3 that I know of currently - But only 1 that is designed / maintained at what I would call a professional level. I'm not trying to be bias because it is my server, its simply that we have designed our server with specifically this type of economy in mind. The others seem retrofitted and/or half-baked at this point.

You should log in at smp1.spendlitecoins.com and give it a try. We have a healthy economy, and a good group of players.

How is the diff going up when there is only 4-5 MHs on this coin?

The diff changes every 12 blocks (1 hour on average).

When it drops, it gets hammered by a coin switching pool.  This pushes the difficulty back up.  New blocks can happen every few seconds.

Once the difficulty rises, those pools switch away.

At Block 15000, the system changes slightly.

Currently, it just uses the last 12 blocks to do the retarget.  After block 15000, it will use the last 72 blocks (so 6 hours), but will still re-target every 12 blocks.  That should smooth things out more.

Also I have looked at options, and the solution you have submitted seems to be the best fix. The longer I observe the coin, the more I am convinced that the changes you proposed are the perfect fit. There could be an update in the next couple days.

I've got about 100 crc and am getting ready to send them over to the Minecraft server.

Does Spendlitecoins receive from cryptsy without issue or do I need to download a wallet and make it the middle man?

Spendlitecoins can accept deposits from any source

downloading the craftcoinish jar and dumping it in the plugins folder, seems to cause the server to hang and not load. Gets stuck at 83% chain download.

Hey, sorry I missed this question...

The craftcoinish plugin has not been updated since pre-fork. It does not work correctly. Unfortunately I have no control over that project, and cannot attempt to correct the issue.

That being said, most server ops are using an economy like this one http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/boseconomy/ it is quite simple to configure that plugin to use CRC on your server using the config file. Look at smp1.spendlitecoins.com for an example of a successful minecraft economy using CRC.

Hope this helps

quite a few ppl on the Spend light coin server during the day i would imagion there are 20-25 active users and that the combine CRC for all of them would be close to 2000 CRC but to be fair that is only 1/50th of the total CRC out there but i don't think this is the only server

I doubt anyone really use this coin in any connection with minecraft  Grin

smp1.spendlitecoins.com
as of 9/7/2013

I am at block 9332 with the 1.1.4 wallet.
According to the previous post, block 9333 should be the valid one?

Trying to solomine, but I guess its pointless?

Using the *.conf file from the first page.

you are caught up. 9333 will be the next block found.

How / when will diff drop? At block 9333? Or?

Every 12 blocks, the next update is 9336 and it should drop by 2 and then drop by 2 again at 9348.

I might be off by 1 here, but it should be:

9333 - 21.37
9334 - 21.37
9335 - 21.37
9336 - 10.69
9335 - 10.69
...
...
9347 - 10.69
9348 - 5.34

At the current rate of around 1 every 2 days, that would take

6 days to get to 9336 (+3)
12 days to get to 9348 (+15)
6 days to get to 9360 (+27)
3 days to get to 9372 (+39)
1.5 days to get to 9284 (+51)

However, maybe people will give it a burst of hashing, once the difficulty drops by 2.

In the spirit of encouraging mining, I sent a transaction with a 10 CRC fee.  Whoever hits 9333 will get that as an additional block reward.

Not a bad idea. I also will be attaching decent fees to the next few blocks. Hopefully this will encourage mining, and get the coin moving again.

edit: I have also sent a transaction with an additional 10 CRC in fees for 9333.

There doesn't seem to be switch-over code?

From the github link, the new parameters are:

nTargetTimespan: 1 hour
nTargetSpacing: 5 minutes

This suggests a 12 block re-target time, rather than 1 block?

You also use 6 re-targeting periods to work out the new difficulty, so averaged over 6 hours.

I renamed my craftcoin directory to backup and started the client.  It downloads the first 11 blocks and then stalls.

I assume what is happening is that the 12th block (first retarget) has the wrong difficulty, according to the new rules.

You need to have the old difficulty rules up to block 9331 and then switch to the new rules.

An easier option would be to just have a checkpoint at 9331 and skip verification of the difficulty updates until then.

...indeed
totally my fault, i'm on it.

Git Updated: https://github.com/craftcoin

Windows Build: http://spendlitecoins.com/downloads/craftcoin_1.1.2.zip

Best Of Luck, And Enjoy.

NOTE: The link on the "downloads" page on the craftcoin.net website DOES NOT LINK TO THE CURRENT BUILD. You must use the above link to download the latest version.

What is the change in this? How is the difficulty problem being handled?

This is nothing more than a band-aid fix.

Changes are as follows:
Difficulty will re-calculate every block
max adjustment will be 200%

This patch does absolutely nothing to correct the inherent problem, it will only (possibly) get the coin moving again until it gets slammed with hashrate.
