Wasabi wallet percent of privacy
by

on 29/04/2024, 19:15:48 UTC
how does this work in Wasabi wallet? do I simply have to leave the CoinJoin running until 100% privacy is reached for my wallet? and is 100% possible or will it get near 100%? If hundred percent is reached, is it better to leave the coins on the current wallet or send everything to a new one?

How high can the transaction fees become?

Have there been made any calculations how high the transaction fees for bitcoin main network could get in the future?

I currently have my BTC stored on a MultiSig cold wallet, which can't be connected to a lightning node. Do you think it's a better idea to move them to a lightning wallet like on electrum for example before the transaction fees get too high? I want to avoid paying a big amount just for one transaction in the main network

Bitcoin address gap limit

I have one question about the gap limit in bitcoin wallet. If for example I create a 24 Word BIP39 Wallet in Sparrow Wallet and I sent some Satoshis to each one of the first 200 addresses. Then I decide to send the complete funds of all 200 addresses to address number 201. If I want to recover the wallet later on another computer using my 24 words is this a problem concerning gap limit?

Re: Multiple seeds on one Coldcard?
by

It is not possible. It is better you also buy seperate hardware wallet each to create the multisig wallet.

Concerning the question, this Coldcard FAQ would be helpful:

Can I have multiple wallets in each COLDCARD?
There is a single "wallet", derived from the BIP-39 seed words. In addition, we have an optional "duress" wallet, which is derived from the wallet's seed words and is not independent. This means it gets backed-up automatically, and the original seed words also backup the duress wallet.

By adding a BIP-39 passphrase you can unlock nearly unlimited additional wallets which derive from the original 24 seed words. The passphrase you use defines the wallet and cannot be changed. BIP-39 passphrases are not backed up or otherwise tracked, which gives lots of freedom in terms of plausible deniability.

Note: creating multisig wallet with you having the co-signers on the same wallet is not secure, not advisable as I have mentioned before.

okay thanks  Smiley

Do you run your Sparrow wallet with full node or you are using some electrum server, and do you use it as single or multisig?

Note that Taproot is still in early stages and I wouldn't suggest using it now if you are a normal user, it could be some bug that you could report to Sparrow github page.

You can also try other wallets that support Taproot:

Yeah I think it's a bug, obviously someone else has the same problem https://giters.com/sparrowwallet/sparrow/issues/311

Luckily I only sent like $15 worth of bitcoin. Should better be more careful next time

Bitcoins "stuck" in Sparrow Taproot Wallet

I created a Taproot Wallet (Single Sig, BIP39 with 15 Words) using Sparrow Wallet. That worked fine and I sent some bitcoins from my other wallet to one of the new bc1p addresses. The problem is now I can't spent the bitcoins from that address. When I try to sign a transaction using the wallet password in Sparrow it doesn't sign for some reason and there is no option to broadcast the transaction. Can someone help me with this? maybe it's a problem to use BIP39 in combination with taproot?

I saw this on Amazon product description. Is it true that you can re-create the phrase that way?

Okay 👍 And in case that my off-line wallet machine is not working anymore, can I still recover my complete bitcoin balance using the seedphrase which I created on the off-line machine in the beginning?

Okay thanks that's what I needed to know. So I can either create the receiving address from the off-line machine or from the read only part of the wallet which is online?

I am planning to transfer my complete bitcoins from an electrum hot wallet to a cold wallet. My question is: can I just create a new receiving address in the read only part of the cold wallet which is online and then sent my coins to that address from the hot wallet?
And afterwards, how do I update the coins on my off-line machine So it shows the same amount of coins as on the read-only part?
Really want to be sure I don’t make a mistake there and lose my coins somehow

damn I think I made a huge mistake now.. I closed Wasabi and after opening it again, sent the unconfirmed exchange to my other electrum wallet. now it says unconfirmed parent in electrum. is my remaining 0.096 BTC on the Wasabi wallet in danger now? or will it be sent back even if the coinjoin works? I messed this up I think.

I started a coinjoin (about 0.1 BTC) with Wasabi about 12 hours ago. still nothing has been confirmed at all, which is starting to get really annoying. is it worth to wait and how long can this take? I have no idea if it's being confirmed at all, it seems to be very low values:

1.350 sat/B

2.235 sat/vByte

0.559 sat/WU

Yeah I guess it's not really a cold storage then, I created it with wi-Fi on and it was connected to the Internet for a few days. But that first one is now deleted. Maybe I can create another one completely off-line and transfer the coins

For the first few days it was a normal Electrum Wallet. Then I made it a read only wallet and deleted the first one

Extended seed phrase safe for future updates?
by

Hello,

I have my bitcoins in cold storage but I am using a read-only wallet with Electrum. Is that safe from hackers?

My other question is:
I have an extended seed phrase, more than 12 words. Is it safe for future updates in the bitcoin network? Or is it possible that this feature will be disabled in the future so I can’t access my wallet anymore?
