But keep in mind that XRB will not automatically skyrocket a long time. There are seroius issues with the desktop wallet. And with serious issues, I mean unusable for a lot of people. Webwallet works, but is not everybodys preferred method of storing.

Problematisch wird es aber auch, wenn du bereits Kryptowährungen hältst, mit denen du dann Altcoins kaufen möchtest, da wohl Fifo (first in - first out) gilt bei der steuerlichen Behandlung.

Bsp: Du hast 1 Bitcoin vor ein paar Monaten zum Kurs von 5000$ gekauft und möchtest diesen halten.

Nun möchtest du für einen Bitcoin Altcoins kaufen. Du kaufst also jetzt 1 BTC (der Einfachheit halber für 15000$) und tauschst diesen sofort wieder in Altcoins.
Jetzt ist das Problem, dass steuerlich nicht dein zuletzt gekaufter BTC getauscht wird, sondern dein vor ein paar Monaten gekaufter (Fifo). Da jetzt aber der Kurs höher liegt, hast du einen Gewinn von 10000$, der oberhalb der Freigrenze liegt.

Only spend money which you can afford to lose (i mean totally, zero, nada). As a second point, most people like to diversify their assets and do not putt all their eggs into one basket.

In my opinion the main problems are
a) that the fees are very high at the moment. Paying for a coke does not make sense at the moment
b) the volatility of bitcoin. During the course of a day the amount of bitcoin needed for a coke can vary by 30% easily. This make it hard to calculate for sellers.
c) transaction times are quite high
