I can confirm that I did receive a coin. Thank you @Boringcollectibles.

The coin itself looks great. The art while not original is a great rendition of the statue in Hungary. (and at least it is not the MJB logo) The relieve on the image does have some depth which adds to the coin as well. The background reminds me of the honeycomb pattern left by various holograms when peeled.  I don't see any defects or blemishes on the surface of the coin, it is very well polished - any defects you see in my images can be attributed to the airtite.

I am always happy to see new coinmaker's here on the forums. I also believe @Boringcollectibles has addressed all the discrepancies on the coins website. They have been keen to listen to the community and quick to address any concerns.

Now in keeping this as an honest review, the slab - I don't like. I have had about half a dozen of these (other collectors coins) and they all have the same issue - the label bubbles and peels up. Also, the slab is not sealed. IMHO, if you are going to slab the coins, do it with ICG, PCGS or one of the other companies that have sealed/locked slabs or just put the coin in air-tite. That is what I did with mine.

I can agree with you more than you can under stand. We will never do slabs again I give everyone my word.
It`s a 5 step process that is just not time sufficient. Thank you for a unbiased review and, always your advice.

I have received my coin.

The front is interesting with the honeycomb pattern (or maybe they are linked chain pieces to represent the blockchain?) as the background, but what caught my eye is the mirror finish face of Satoshi.
If you hold the coin just right, you can see your own face in the reflection.... because "we are all Satoshi" Cheesy
The hologram appears to be of decent quality and some of the printing is quite highly detailed
What stood out is some of the color shifting elements throughout the hologram... lots of red to green to purple. Very nice.

I did open the slab/capsule it came in to further inspect the coin and check the key underneath the hologram
The coin did test as 0.9999 silver Smiley
Upon peeling the hologram, only the top plastic layer came off cleanly, leaving the patterned residue behind.
Trying to get the private key paper off was a bit daunting as it had some kind of adhesive on the under side making it hard to peel off.

EDIT: I just realized the key was printed on vinyl?... interesting concept. I wonder how this affects the ink / durability of the printing Huh

Being that, the QR codes for both public and private addresses were clear and easy to read.
Overall, a nice coin and hologram that are of decent quality.
Only a few things that I would recommend a change to:
1) Smaller recess for the hologram so it fits a bit better (or a slightly larger hologram)
2) Do not use sticky/adhesive on the underside of the private key.

Thank You Miner Jones for your detailed and scientifically approached review. We’re glad you have noticed so many aspects of the hologram; this was an area of the coin we cut absolutely no corners on. You have pointed out the use of Vinal on our holograms, this along with our Fully patented anti tarnish treatment, are innovations we bring to physical bitcoins. Our anti tarnish treatment and vinyl holograms have been exhaustively tested under extreme laboratory conditions including 90 minutes in an autoclave set to 250 degrees Fahrenheit with 30% atmospheric pressure. We tested our coin alongside many other physical bitcoins (I won’t name These coins, as I am not here to shine a negative light on anyone’s coins) and found that only the ballet wallet could withstand these conditions, as depicted in the pictures below. After 90 minutes, the hologram continued to self-destruct as you described (leaving adhesive behind behind), the glue continued to adhere to protect the privacy of the keys, and the keys continued to be scannable with a QR reader, ensuring the value could still be redeemed. We have designed our holograms to last for 20 + years and have the testing back it!

I didnt call it a scam - simply pointed out all the inconsistencies between the post/website/cart concerning the qty minted and the prices.

Scam or not - the issues need to be addressed - they come here and do not address them?

Mr. Mopar Minning LLC, I appreciate your concern regarding our product. I would like to send you a free coin, for you to hold in your hand, inspect, and keep - FOR FREE. Please contact me to discuss how I may put one of these coins in your hand - No Strings Attached.

I'd like to inspect a coin as well... any chance you can include another with the package to Mopar?

Mr. Miner Jones, I would be honored to have a member of this community with your status hold and appreciate a piece of my artwork. It deeply hurts my soul to be accused of bringing a scam to a community that I have so diligently tried to progress. This project is only one of the many contributions I have made to the Physical bitcoin community with my artwork, and pride myself in advancing the physical bitcoin community. If you would kindly send me your address in a private message, I will ship you one of these coins for you to cherish. I just hope that you would see fit in offering a review of the coin in this thread. Thank you for reaching out, inquiring about the coin, and doing your investigations. It is actions like these taken by community members like you that will ensure the future of all cryptocurrencies and provide safe digital and physical assets.

Likelihood of scam, 9.999/10.

@moparminingLLC their 10k pages of disclaimers clearly states that they are under NO obligation to keep website details current/up to date, information accurate, details that are incorrect are just that and that they are under no obligation of any kind!  Cheesy This all follows a similar pattern of rug pull websites of past I’ve dug in to.

https://boringcollectibles.com/terms-and-conditions/

This company runs under an LLC “D2PC” (license to butt fuck you with little or most likely zero legal ramifications possible under law) . It was created in March of 2024- “ The Registered Agent on file for this company is Registered Agent Solutions, Inc” -  https://www.bizapedia.com/nv/d2pc-llc.html

The only link not broken to any outside social media is Facebook- https://facebook.com/61567632179446/ (is this an all Hindi/Indian outside of some English?  Also I don’t have Facebook or that app so removed an “m.” Before the letters “facebook” in the url , thought maybe it would turn to a U.S./English created /directed site, but changed nothing.  I’m sure they are US based like all their info says, and not scamming out of India. Also assume that’s why shipping takes several weeks (something like 14-21 days is listed ). Just extra quality care not the fact that they are shipping from abroad.

They list their address using Sunshine Minting’s addy. Didn’t check phone number but I assume it’s the same. Their website states ..

https://i.postimg.cc/940VmYZS/IMG-4382.jpg

I will contact Sunshine for confirmation of this/general inquiry

I’m sure there’s an easy way to scan a photos QR code from “within” but I am tech stoopid and don’t know how, anyone able to get a read on any of these? (Only w mobile atm)

FYI account was last active ..yesterday!…hence monitoring but not addressing anything.

Thank you for your post. You have compiled a very compelling set of due diligence and raise very fair questions based on your research. You are an exemplary of your actions in making a researched and smart decision. You have produced screenshots of an offer that was developed pre-production, and was intended for testing with a very select group of early adopters, partners, and interested parties. We further limited the mintage after the fact and immediately notified all interested parties. No coins were sold under the 10,000-coin mintage, and the new public offering of 2,500 coins was created.

the issue i see here is that if a coin is marketed as say - 2500 only and a price set. Then after those are sold the decision to raise the mintage is made - that is very bad. It immediately devalues the coins bought when the mintage was set to 2500. What is to keep you from raising the mintage beyond 10k once they are sold?

And now you have introduced a 3rd quantity for mintages - 5,000. We have seen 2,500, 10,000 and now 5,000. This is very concerning and makes it very hard to trust anything being posted by you about these coins.

You have a few members here who are vouching for you as you are some member of a facebook group - however, your own words/posts/website make you appear very uncredible.

I am sorry that this is confusing. There are only 2 competing mintage values. 10,000 Which was part of a pre-production offer that was sent to a very select group of people, and the revised mintage of 5,000 total coins. The offer of 10,000 coins was immediately revised, and no production related actions were made. All private parties that were notified of the change to a total mintage of 5,000 coins immediately. No coins were sold under the offering of the 10,000-coin mintage. These coins are offered in 2 ways - Funded and Unfunded. Each of these carries a quantity limitation of 2,500 total.

For the sake of absolute clarity, the mintage is as follows:

5,000 total coins
Mintage is divided equally between two(2) coin types.
2,500 coins were minted with a FUNDED wallet.
2,500 coins were minted with an UNFUNDED Wallet.

also the OP says 10k available worldwide - the site linked states only 2500 available world wide - huge difference in mintage.

you also have to give it your name and email to order (I gave it joe@gmail.com) the landing page for ordering now says 10k will be minted.

This presents a conflict even within their own site.

website:

https://i.ibb.co/fzNWsWfq/image.png

order page:

https://i.ibb.co/qLDPJGTL/image.png

the cost is 169.99 per coin. The QR code on the back appears to be a legacy bitcoin address.

Thank you for your message, And I deeply apologies for the delayed response. The offer you are referring to was an extremely early offering, sent out to our initial interested parties, partners, and early adopters. A Decision was made to further limit the mintage of the coins, and all interested parties were notified of the offer. This offer was made on a marketing platform, and it was overlooked as being available for public consumption. This is our mistake, which has led to confusion. To clarify, the total mintage is 5,000 coins, split into two categories - 2,500 unfunded coins, and 2,500 funded coins.

Thank you for researching the QR code - A Proof-of-Concept coin was minted on a one-off basis for photography and use internally. The QR Code on this coin is NOT OWNED BY US and IS NOT USED in production coins. The image is of a coin that is EXACT in nature to the coins minted, but this coin will NEVER be in the hands of a public consumer.

I wish there was more info on these coins. They look great and I would love to get one but the lack of some questions being answered has me hesitant.

Thank you for your message. I apologize for the delayed response and appreciate your inquiry. Information related to the coin can be found on our website, www.boringcollectibles.com. This is our official website, and official offer for the public. The funded coin is a limited mintage of 2,500 coins in troy oz of pure silver, The unfunded coin is the same, however it DOES NOT CONTAIN BITCOIN. These coins are intended to be used as not only a tributary coin, a work of art, and a limited-edition investible asset; it is also a physical bitcoin wallet - It is as secure in such a way that the only access to the contained value, is through physical redemption of the self-destructing hologram on each coin.

How were the private keys generated for these coins?

Yeah, that ^^^^^.... Kinda surprised nobody has asked anything here yet about this newbie/seller... Roll Eyes
Also...

10,000 coins minted x 50k sats per coin ~ $379,00.00  == 4.997BTC (not including the 30 USD+ of silver per round(?)!!

(Unless my quickie internet maths are mistaken ofc, anyone pls point out if so)?

Are you really pouring that much money in silver, AND almost 5 BTC into this venture? Or have you already?

What's under the holo? QR Code? PK? ...

... Inquiring minds need to know these details, else you may not fare well here. Roll Eyes

Thank you for your post, I apologies for not responding in a timely manner. The Mintage has been adjusted from 10,000 to 5,000 coins, which was a decision made following a test offer made to a small group of early adopters and partners. After this offer, the mintage was further limited, and everyone who had received that offer was notified. We made the mistake of assuming that the offer was no longer public, and that data would no longer be available to researching parties. This was an oversight on our part and has led to confusion. We are truly sorry for this. The correct mintage is as follows:

2,500 1 oz FUNDED .999 Silver Coins Minted
2,500 1oz UNFUNDED .999 Silver Coins Minted.

These coins were minted by the Sunshine Mint in Nevada, after all 5000 coins are sold, This Coin WILL NOT be further minted.

maybe explain what process is used to generate the private keys?

There have been many new makers who say the same as you but then it turns out they are using a program on a pc that is openly connected to the net. Or they have used a website - or worse things as well.

Can you address the discrepancies concerning the mintage and prices?

Sure, Thank you! Without leaking our "Secret Sauce", Our Sofware was developed IN HOUSE, and is based on EXACT standards - we LITERALLY RE WROTE LIBRARIES FROM ONE SCREEN TO THE OTHER. This was a manual, tedious, and annoying process, but we understand this as the ONLY WAY to be 100% confident in our security, and the privacy of these coins. Although I cannot unfortunately cannot "Prove it" to you, I assure you, the machine used has NEVER been, and NEVER WILL BE, connected to the internet. The Hard drive and software for creating THIS SPECIFIC MINTAGE OF COINS HAS BEED DoD 5220.22-M WIPED.

Thank you for an Excellent Question, and I Apologies for the delayed Response! The reverse of each coin bears a Double Hologram, the first Always Exposed Hologram the Public Key QR Code, which is self-destructing and tamper resistant. Peeling the first layer of the hologram reveals the Private Key for the Wallet, in QR form. These keys exist on each coin individually and is NOT RECORDED ANYWHERE ELSE. The Private Key is designed to remain concealed until redemption of the wallet value is made by the holder of the physical coin. There is NO OTHER WAY to obtain the Private Key / Public Key Pair from these coins, other than being the PHYSICAL HOLDER of the coin.

First off, I would like to apologize to you, and to the entire bitcoin talk community that has been neglected within this post. I will systematically and thoroughly answer all your questions today, as posted on this thread. Second, I would like Thank you specifically, minerjones, for this excellent question. We purchased the components for a PC without operating system, including all brand-new parts such as hard driver mother board, RAMM, and CPU and Case. These individual parts were never touched out utilized outside of our supply chain. We installed a certified copy of an operating system from an original OEM source. Additionally, A Software Development Interface, Hash Verified and trusted, was installed using a USB stick that was brand new and trusted. Once built, we utilized this machine, AIR GAPPED from the internet at all times and has NEVER been connected to ANY network infrastructure Including LAN, Wireless, Cellular and Bluetooth. This PC was connected to an industrial printer, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor only. NO OTHER PEREPHREALS are connected.  The software built was designed to use BIP32 to create private key/public key pairs. both keys were generated as QR Code, with the private key NEVER being exposed in a directly human readable manor. They Private Key is produced as a QR Code ONLY, NEVER in its original, character-based form. The Public key is placed in s Spreadsheet in order to Load the bitcoin wallet. Once all wallet balances were verified, the spreadsheet was destroyed. This PC has now been DoD 5220.22-M Wiped of all data. This DOD standard ensures the data from this drive can NEVER be reconstructed.

Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
You are — when you peer into this coin, you may see yourself staring back from under Nakamoto’s hood. This 1oz silver proof piece is a tribute not only to Satoshi, but to the first statue, erected in Budapest in 2021, in honor of Bitcoin’s mysterious founder. With his face made of mirrored brass, the statue reminds visitors of an important idea — We are all Satoshi. Among the greatest mysteries of the millennium, Satoshi’s true identity has never been confirmed despite multiple attempts by investigators around the world. In 2008, he published the Bitcoin Whitepaper, setting in motion not only Bitcoin, but the entire cryptocurrency and blockchain movement and the technical advancements accompanying it. The smallest unit of Bitcoin, the Satoshi, is named after him. Like physical silver, privately controlled BTC such as that contained with the coin, is a bearer asset. Just like the ownership of silver is determined by its physical possession, the ownership of bitcoin is determined by knowledge of the private key by which it can be moved. The private key associated with each coin is enclosed under a secure tamper-proof hologram and stored nowhere else. As such, each Satoshi coin is an absolute title to the ownership of silver, Bitcoin, and a beautiful limited-edition collectible. Satoshi Nakamoto Initial 2024 1oz Silver Bitcoin-Infused coin.

As such, each Satoshi collectible is an absolute title to the ownership of silver, Bitcoin, and a beautiful limited-edition collectible.
